NY Times: Cruz Using Bathroom Issue As a Cudgel Against Trump

When the campaign started last year, I wondered if our community would become an issue. As the months went by, I got a little more concerned. My fears have been more than realized, sadly. I try not to let all this get me down, or scare me, and I am not someone who is easily scared. But this is getting really bizarre. We are not just "another issue;" its become a centerpiece of the right's campaign. That does scare me.

Let us hope that sanity prevails. It's hard to pee when one is nervous.

I am worried that some far right nut job is going to take all of this as a sign that they can take action. I just saw today a news story about a man being killed in a church service by a vigilante that took it upon himself to take matters in his own hands after another man had made a disturbance in the church. Does all of this coverage just put targets on our backs for those just looking to cause issues?

I flew 154 combat missions in Vietnam as an aerial gunner, so I remember the fear! But this is so different.......I don't know where, or if, or who will be at the ready to call me out? With some of the police being prone to violence, and ready to jump at the chance to enforce these ridiculous bigoted laws because they support this legislation. I know it would be dangerous here just North of Houston, and many other areas. of the South. They can be nasty even when you aren't using the restroom. Very sad state of affairs!

We had a vigilante shoot up a Walmart parking lot at some would be shoplifters hitting innocent peoples cars, and narrowly missing other shoppers. Since the idiot had a license to carry they didn't do a thing to him. Notice I didn't say he was an off duty constable/sheriff,police, and not even a guard...just a concerned citizen. When he doesn't even get a slap on the wrist for that he'd probably receive a medal for protecting women and children in a restroom!
