Anti-Bigot Rant

After spending way too much time reading unkind online comments regarding the transgender condition, I was moved to write the following rebuttal. Use it if you like.

Fulminate all you like, but in the end you will lose – as so many others of your ilk have done in the past. Some of us are old enough to remember previous struggles for equal rights, and so we recognize your rhetoric, your willful ignorance and your paranoiac fear of any change that threatens your narrow views of how things should be.

We have seen your kind wield religion like a weapon, spout falsehoods as facts and attempt to demonize entire classes of people for no other reason than to satisfy your own bias and bigotry.

Nothing you can say or do now will have a meaningful effect. You'll continue to find places to express your unfounded opinions, and you'll be joined there by those like yourself who confuse bloviation for knowledge and prejudice for common sense. You'll find solace in believing that “most people” think as you do, when in fact you are but a vocal minority of parrot-like individuals adding “amen” to one another's ridiculous statements.

Your “arguments”, based as they are upon misinterpretation of facts due to your unwillingness to learn the truth or a purposeful effort on your part to use falsehoods to make your point, have no value whatsoever. Yet you will continue to present yourself as expert and reject information solely because it does not jibe with what you so fervently wish were so.

Yes, you follow a very familiar pattern. We know you all too well. And we reject your close-minded views, your lack of human kindness and your total absence of empathy for the struggles of others not like yourself.

Wallow all you like in your victimhood and your ludicrous claim that you are under siege by some force of evil determined to strip your country of its values.

In the end, life will go on, progress will be made, and you will be relegated to the margins of existence just as were those before you.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor seems to be thrown out the Bible when it comes to lazy hating. Judge and jury for a Facebook like. The real people being hurt who cant get therapy or have a support system are our trans brother's and sister's I worry about and those who become real statistics. Sarah
