Justice is served but too late for Angie and her family.

I hope that they will be able to recover and lead normal lives and remember Angie as she was not as in the trial.

Pray for peace, love and understanding,

Sally

Mia - thank you for keeping us updated and informed. I have posted my opinions on this elsewhere so I don't want to repeat them here. I will say I am encouraged by the outcome - it was speedy and it was just.

Great job! You persoanally helped me to understand the good people in Colorado were outraged with this murder.

Love you

Lizzy

Thank You Colorado, at least some in this world knew what had to be done to bring justice to Angie and her family. I do pray they can find some peace even though the loss is great and sometimes unbearable. Hopefully this helps them somewhat.

Well here are the results of the Angie Zapata murder trial and the MONSTER was found guilty..here is the reporter's blog from the weekly Denver newspaprer..WestWord Justice is served but it still feels empty doesn't It? http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2009/...apata_tri_4.php

When one of our own is killed and the guy gets away with it is even more empty... Angie got justice. For all the good it's worth. The Death of someone so young like that should never happen, it just shows how much work we still need to do.

Last night a gay friend of mine said that Transgender/Transexual People, despite the leaps and bounds GLB receive, are still the Redheaded step-children of the Redheaded stepchildren in the GLBT community for recognition.

While we enjoy more acceptance than we have had before... we still need more. We need more role models publicly raising the acceptance more so this doesn't happen as often. Angie Zapata can only be a Martyr now, like so many others before her... -_-

Let's Raise Awareness to the point where this doesn't happen again... So those of us to come don't have to feel Ashamed of what they are. So Girls Like Angie and before her Gwen and those before her can say "Our Deaths have meaning now." So that We don't have high suicide rates any more.

Aain - I posted a reply in another TOPIC section. I just really have been having some trouble over this whole situation. I am glad the jury took just two hours to deliberate - THAT in itself sends a really good message.

We really do live dangerous lives, we transgended.

I'm so proud of my state. Our governor really came through for us this year. I wish what happened to Angie hadn't happened obviously, but at least the guy got what he deserved.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Anyone play war and order on their phones?

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!

Things hit the fan today. I was reminded that "this is not a gender fluid establishment."   I had changed my preferred name and gender at the hospital on their app. My x-ray report came in with my preferred name and gender. It was not appreciated by the centre. 😬
