i just don't believe there is a right or left anymore. D and R are relics from a time when our vote did count . our economy laws and religions are slowly being tailored to fit a different goverment, and its agenda. they are even trying to nationalize our IDs . the presidency of any candidate is little more than a puppet position, with this shadow government pulling the strings . if obama really wanted to make improvments he would regulate wall street. he would impose restrictions on the fed and force them to explain were nearly 10 trillion dallors of american money went , that seemingly vanished with out a trace , money that they could have sank back into unemployment, {since they haven't made a dent in the unemployment rate} instead of giving billions of dallors to car companies to continue building cars we cant afford why not . issue cupons to the american people for say 90% off the price of a new car, we would then in turn take those to a car lot buy the car., and the car lot or company would redeem them to the government for a slice of the bailout pie, allowing car companies to build the cars and keep people employed .

but then the heads of these companies wouldn't beable to pocket it and would have to pay their employees . instead of cutting their jobs and netting a tidy little profit . but the reason he does not do these things is because it doesn't serve the Fed a privately owned bank that has total dominion over our currency and economy . we are heading toward a global government headed from the shadows by buisness men and bankers .

i think one should find it odd that obama sends 30000 troops into afganistan, only months before american geologist find one of the biggest deposits of gold, calbalt , zinc , iron , and several other highly vaulued resources , i think the guesstimated value of with is in the several trillions . i doubt some GI was on patrol and tripped over this varitable gold mine . or a geologist, traipsing about in a war torn country stumbled across this find ?

there is a new world order coming . its being talked about openly . in the the news alls one has to do is look for it. but in case you don't want to waste time researching it your selves .

please for give the title of this video its just the best complied news clips and info. i could find. the only thing i want is for people to look ask real questions don't just take my word for it or these people in these videos or articals research it your self look at what they are doing and get mad about it.

we need to wake up. not just american people but all peoples of the world . before we all wake up one day wearing striped pajamas and a micro chip under our skin. this is the last. i will post to this thread i have said what i wanted to say.

It is my experience, that politicians only make laws or policy, which suits the people, who fund their election campaigns.

I fear the power does not belong to the people, but to corporations.

On topic.

I believe Obama has defintely increased America's standing in the EU. And personally, I think the alternative, McCain (sounds like a brand of fries, I know), would have been a disaster. He would probably perpetuate America's 'world cop' policy for ever, and ever. News flash! You are not the only civilised country on the planet, stop forcing your rules onto us. Sheesh!

Though we dutchies can learn a lot about the way the US treats immigrants(except for the "mexican problem" which are mostly guatamalese anyway), the new dutch government will make it near to impossible for me and my american girlfriend to live together in the netherlands(raising the minimum income and minimum age to 24 and other draconian measures to keep out the muslims, but it will hit other immigrants and their dutch partners just as hard), I will have to move to Germany because of it.

I have suspicions that Geert Wilders(right-wing islamophobe that endorses the new goverment and has a very big influence on it now) is somehow linked to the tea party, probably has the same people(or corporations) funding his movement.

Voting for tea-party alligned "politicians" will not do your county any good, like geert wilders will be a disaster for my country. And it will certainly decrease the possibilities for Obama to pass more improvements, he still has two years, FDR had four terms to get you out of the great depression, do not be too impatient. So use your common sense next week.

I have become very jaded in my years of watching politics as usual - the whole concept of a government for the people, of the people and by the people is totally destroyed by the introduction of campaign funding - the advice given to a very wealthy man by his father - you don't ever need to be a politician - you can afford to buy one.

Money runs the world, greed is the only real motivator for most people - so they go into politics and this need for money does not go away - the very liberal salaries of the members of congress with unbelievable pensions should any of them ever decide to leave and give up all of the graft should be enough for anyone - it is definitely enough for them to lose touch with the problems of 90% of the people that they claim to represent.

Their campaigns are funded by corporations, lobbyist and special interest groups who do not 'donate' these funds, they are purchasing votes in Congress plain and simple - that is why nothing changes - the rich are in control and want to get richer so they do, no one wants to get poorer but we are.

If Congress was really there to help us back in the days of a huge period of inflation they would have joined in on the wage and price freeze that President Nixon had imposed on the rest of the country but Congress voted in their annual pay raise proving once again how much they care about anyone but themselves.

Now during this recession while so many are losing their jobs and their homes have they passed on those pay raises - no but you do not hear about it because LBJ while still in the Senate entered a bill into Congress stating that if no vote was taken on Congressional pay raises (in particular Senatorial pay raises - what a shock) that they would go into effect automatically at the end of the session.

You don't hear about any one of them willing to give that up do you.

We have elected royalty and there is really not much difference between birthright and elected royalty in their connection with all of the people living in poverty.

At one point Ronald Reagan stated that no one ever went to bed hungry in the United States - I guess all of the homeless people were well feed while he was in office - so highly revered in the media and by the Republican Party and yet someday when a less biased history is written and his charisma is not being considered he will be one of the worst presidents of the late 20th century - Richard Nixon will be noted for all of the good that he did for the country and in foreign relations - he was responsible for the actions that eventually lead to the destruction of the Berlin Wall but Reagan got the credit because he was the man in office at the time of the event - nothing in politics happens over night and something this major took years.

Harry Truman ended World War II, FDR and Winston Churchill prolonged it by demanding an unconditional surrender from a culture that valued honor above life - don't look for those revelations just yet because revisionist history seems to last a long time - there has never been a war fought for any reasons other than greed and a need for power yet history records the American Revolution as a fight for ideals - no just we wanted to keep the tax money here - the Civil War was fought to abolish slavery - wrong again, a side benefit to so many but the main issues were Federal control over individual states and the price of cotton - yup, power and money just like always.

So how have Obama and Congress done, well they haven't ordered euthanasia for the homeless - so I give him high marks.

With total disgust,

Cynical Sally

I totally understand your disgust. Getting more and more cynical myself, especially these days, but i try not to sink back in apathy, like so many people do(maybe in some decades i will be thinking just like you though). In a way I'd rather be naive than apathetic for now. If everyone turns away from politics it's a garantee that everything only will get worse.

In the case of the liberation of europe i am still grateful to FDR, all alterior motives he had aside. I would have been speaking German now not dutch(though my german is not bad, and now i have to go there) At least i had the chance of growing up in a free and prosperous western european country, such a pity the dutch are busy screwing that up now.

Melisiris,

Another guarantee that things continue to get worse is to continue to vote in a two party system and pick the lesser of two evils year after year which by definition just means the one who will just guarantee to make things slightly less worse than the other guy but still worse than before. How progressive! I'd rather 'waste' my vote on a third party candidate like the Green party or something and be able to look myself in the mirror than buy into their game. Maybe they can buy me off with a few bones tossed to the LGBT community though. They obviously don'taskdonttell care but as long as a few trinkets fall my way it's better than the other guys!

At least vote for the lesser evil, but green party or socialist party is fine too in my humble opinion.;)

In the Netherlands we have a multi-party system, though this could not prevent the right wing fascist party cynically called "Party for Freedom" to gain unacceptable influence in the government, they are keeping the condoning coalition parties in a stranglehold. History is repeating itself but this time in a neighbouring country of germany.

Yes, Geert Wilders is an absolute hypocrite. The name of his party is just one example. He promotes freedom (given in our constitution), yet denies it for reasons such as cultural heritage, or having multiple nationalities.

Most recently, the double passports of one of our new ministers, was accepted without any scrutiny.

Couples of years back, both Wilders and Rutte (our new Prime Minister), made quite the ruckus about the double passports of two state secretaries. They were either Dutch-Turkish, or Dutch-Moroccan. Thus, Wilders and Rutte concluded their 'loyalty' was not guaranteed, and they moved for a vote of no confidence.

Luckily, this motion was not carried.

The new minister, who was sworn in a couple of days ago, is Dutch-Swedish. And yet, there's not so much as a beep from Wilders. The opposition has already called both Rutte and Wilders 'hypocrites', over this. Seems being part Swedish would be sufficient proof of 'loyalty', while I fail to see the distinction.

As for the TEA Party Movement, they are just as much populist weasels, as the PVV (Party for Freedom) is, here.

They want tax cuts, yet fail to come up with plans on how to prevent the US government from going bankrupt.

They promote liberty, like there is no tomorrow, yet wish to deny those liberties to non-whites.

They are complaining about the new Health care bill, yet didn't so much as grumble, when Bush jr. did something similar, just lacking fanfare.

Need I go on?

(All right, they oppose Wall Street's grabbing culture. That would be the only thing I agree with.)

I have never been big on the USA, when Bush was in the White House. I never liked the 'America above all' attitude some conservative Americans are throwing our way. And this 'Tea Party', from my perspective, makes a big red flag, next to one yellow flag, since Bush is gone.

(Feel free to tell me I'm wrong...)

You know, I know, that plenty of Americans would call me an utter communist for my views, while I prefer to call myself a socialist.

Anything below your 'Liberals' is a communist, from many Americans' perspectives.

Society is preserved by passing on proper roles for people, which works for the 90+ percent that it works for.   We were all taught from an early age that breaking out of the classification was a shameful thing, even when, actually, it is not.

I'm probably showing my age.  I haven't looked at a guest count in a long time.  Doing FB and staying off forums for a while.  Previous forum use had fewer bots if any and guests were actual people, mostly, unlike today.    Any AIs or bots struggling with GD are welcome.  I would love to read your introduction.

I've seen this on a lot of forums tbh. That's how a lot of content ends up on internet archives. You've got loads of bots scanning the site at all times and archiving it. Forums are actually nice (in comparison to social media) in that the guest count gives you a pretty good idea of how actively the site's content is being archived. Basically just don't post anything you don't want archived.

Kids are resiliant with therapy and strong support ;-)    They were all elementary age when their dad died and are teens now, and how they've grown and developed as young people, already, takes my breath away.   I'm working on communicating changes clearly and without shame, which is difficult basically all the time because of feeling guilty over doing gender "wrong" for so long. Working on that myself! <3

Allow me to add that people should think twice about posting pictures of themselves, with the facial recognition software that is out there.  Those in stealth or who are not fully out may discover they are suddenly and unwillingly fully out in ways they wish had not happened.

Funny how when i read the topic name i thought you were asking about the study of plants and animals.  I'm a bit into that as a farmer at va time when a cell phone makes plant  for insect identification easier than it has ever been.    Now on to your topic.  I don't farm in the nude.  I have wondered at whether i would skinny dip as i did as a kid without thought of how my body might affect others.  The effects of hormones makes me different from the average person and perhaps i'm "neither fish nor fowl".  I would certainly depend on who my fellow passengers on that cruise would be.   Hugs,   Charlize

This is also a relatively small forum and it can take a long time, seemingly, for someone to get around to replying to a post.

I am also pretty sure that several of them are folks who are "trans curious".  Sometimes folks who are trying to find their own identity, are attracted to trans folks or who are simply interested in the trans community.   There may also be some who wish to do us harm which is why ......... I've just learned to smile figuring "i'm on candid camera".   I'm sure many of our younger members never experienced that show so my age is showing.   Hugs,   Charlize

Most of those "guests" are web bots from China, Indonesia, France etc. looking us over. They are mostly benign.  All they can see or gain access to are the general forums.  Members should be careful not to post anything that could readily identify themselves such as real names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. They do not have access to our gallery, blogs or private messenger. They seem to haunt all forums. Not just us. I should add that they can make us known across the internet. That's how prospective members find us. Google would be a good example.

Heck I didn't even know they could go up that high! I just have a four burner and one to keep stuff warm. What kind of pies did you make?

That's all the matters.   Well me and the wife rode to Perkins for breakfast. As we were waiting for our food. Being it is Sunday There are a few gentleman in suits, my guess from church. I think to myself. I hope I never have to wear one of those monkey suits ever again. Now a nice dress maybe.   Hugs,   Kymmie

From time to time I've looked at 'Who Is Online" and I have consistently noticed that members are ALWAYS outnumbered by Guests by a wide margin, sometimes, like a minute ago, by more than a 10:1 margin.  I have never seen that before on an internet forum.  It can be explained partly by the nature of what this is, that it draws the curious and they are certainly welcome to read here, and to join, but it leaves me with a feeling of being in a fishbowl.  I wonder who ARE these people?  Donald Trump, is that you? Biden? Sinwar? Putin?  We can only guess.
