Yes! Passed in front of a critical audience

Today (technically yesterday I guess), I found myself in Tennessee up in the mountains north of Knoxville. I had just finished fueling up the ol' semi when I finally had to run inside for a spiro-related bathroom trip. As I'm hurriedly walking into the bathroom, I pushed open the door and almost hit a 6-year old little girl. Her mom was close by, looked over at me and said "I'm sorry, sweetheart." I quickly and politely downplayed the event like it was no big deal (accidents happen) and rushed towards the stall on the end.

After closing the door I hear the little girl say "She's a tall girl" to which her mother replied "Yes, she is!"

I paused for a moment, behind the stall door, with a big grin. A small victory among some of the more critical members of society, along with one of their parents.
Thank you, little girl, you made my day today...er, yesterday. :D

Happened to me at Busch Gardens without make-up in shorts in a t-shirt. Made me feel great! (not the tall part though)

Good for you Lizzie, that's real life....

I've enjoyed nice chit chat in a queue of ladies waiting for an open stall before, attitude is everything...

I find my reactions to being gendered properly have changed a lot over the years.  Yes, I remember being thrilled, and also disbelief.  This is happening?  Really?!?  Um, yup.  After a while, it became an expectation.  Something predictable, something to count on.  A way to vanquish self-doubt.  Smiling secretly to myself.

And then the day came when it didn't register at all.  Too preoccupied with whatever else was going on in my life.  Just a non-issue.  Blank.

Very nice!!  If you ever find yourself un Nashville let me know!  I'd love to catch up to you!!  I have a ton of questions I'd like to ask in person...if the chance arises.

Lizzie what a great feeling you have experienced. Passing is such an awesome feeling. It hasn't happened to me all that often, but it sure is a nice feeling when it does. I most often get compliments on how well I dress, or the " you are pulling this off well. " compliment.
