Could there be any humor in all of this?

I like Carolyn's (as well as others) daily news articles. I have a habit of following on to other links.

WOW!  Could there be a new civil war from this election? No humor there.  Already street protests.  Do I relive Kent State again? Why yes,  I  did follow the impeachment links, as in where do I sign? Oh,  that petition has been quashed and closed. On to my Google Search. Yikes this is getting ugly.

Already all kinds of petitions and movements,  legal accusations and actions against Trump. Many by his own party and people. (my reserved giggle) This man's crocodile mouth may have written checks his canary butt can't cash. (my sly grin)  What did my Big Book say?  More will be revealed...

Wanda Sykes did a hugely funny bit for President Obama's dinner.  Something about "This country is such a mess,  let's give the black guy a try!" She had everyone rolling. Well dear Donald it's your turn on the grill.

In all the turmoil I  can cry or laugh at the idiotic follies of humanity,  me included.  I do tend to have one small shred of sympathy for our President Elect. He is not going to have a fun road ahead.  I hope in the coming events,  lives will be spared so the comedy will out weigh the tragedy.

Mike Pence? Hmm... CALEXIT? that would be my first reason ever to move there? Canada vacation, that looks nice? Bangkok is still my first choice. What do you think the lighter side of all this could possibly be? Any crystal ball predictions?

I don't take much humor in any of this. BLM calling for more riots ( in white neighborhoods) Black Americans attacking White Americans because they are white obviously that means they voted for trump, so you know civil thing to do is gang up on them and beat them half to death. Dems where all agasp that Donald trump may not accept the results of the election but now that the shoe is on the other foot " Peaceful " protests calls for Trumps impeachment electoral college recall social media calls for trumps assasination. Most of the after election strife is due to Dems/liberals spoiled by 8 years of pandering are now confronted with irrational fears propagated by the media to ellecit this exact over dramatic reaction, celebs tweeting from their multi million dollar mansions about revolt that they will never dirty their hands with . I like how libs called for peace and tolerance but are turning rather redneckish and deplorable  in the face of not getting what they want.

I think that one could find ignorance to be funny.  For the most part however, i don't find anything other than an orange headed president amusing.  Seeing his wife posing in her underwear on the wings of an airplane is also a bit humorous if x rated.  We have a new grooper and chief and his exploits may well provide some laughs  as well as tears.  There are good reasons people saw him as a joke.  Lets hope he is capable of decency.

Hugs,

Remember hate comes back to you.

Indeed it does. I'm seeing a lot of hate right here. I would hope that we're better than this.

I did find some sort of humor last night, though certainly nothing humorous about violence and crime. Last night I discovered a number or hilarious YouTube video's by the religious lunatic fringe. Apparently, there seems to be some consensus among them that he is saint trump, a man sent of God to save America from the four horsemen of the apocalypse, building his holy wall on the Mexican border. Now I've heard everything!? It is to laugh!

Lots of love,

Thank you for the link Cindi. I had just read something to that effect on my flip book. Now before we begin generalizing and making assumptions about people we don't even know. I will say this. Race politics affect me in a way that I am going to assume that they do not affect you. If I am wrong then I apologize. I have been in an interracial relationship for the  past 10 years. My husband Is Puerto Rican my in-laws  my nieces and nephews are Latino  or some mix there of. I have been steeped in Latino culture nearly as long as I have been in transition. I have been with my husband so long that many of my spanish friends as crude as this maybe tell me I am Spanish by injection. My views are not the shape of a politically correct outsider looking in. So I will not be called a racist by anyone... if you would be so kind :)

Now I will say racism is very ugly to me in all its guises. It is this racial stereotype however that racism is unique only to white culture.  Puerto Ricans hate Mexicans, Mexican hate Venezuelans and Brazilians. Dominicans and Cubans hate everyone, but oddly they all celebrate cinco de mayo? Out of my Husbands family His grand mom hates me specifically because I am white I know this because she has told me so, she has even gone so far as to cast spanish voodoo spells in hopes that I would die or at the very least go away.   My views of the BLM as such are also shaped by  African Amercian friends. all the ones I know personally view it on nearly the same level as most white people view the clan. In my previous posts there is literally a call on twitter and face book for the BLM to start rioting in white communities to protest Trump by attacking or other wise causing bodily harm to whites or trump supporters and there are already videos cropping up on the net of said attacks happening. That is racism in it purest and most hateful form. No matter how mad you maybe no matter the  transgressions Hurting some one  or by action of protest hurt some one simply because the color of their skin that is racism and no body has that right.

There is this knee jerk reaction by minorities by the lgbtq by women, that all 50+ million trump supporters are disgruntled white males that could not stand the idea of a female president or personally hate them. While most fail to realize that latinos comprise a large part of middle class amercia now. That women make up a large part of middle class amercia now  and many are simply tired of being ignored worring that your job is going to go away because your company realizes it can move its operation out of the USA make thier products on the backs of little more than slave labor and then sell it back into the united states at virtually no cost to them due to free trade agreements. Now My husband and I( he also voted for trump as did virtually every latino and woman we know ) are left having to worry about our own personal safety  because we wanted something better for our selves as well. So as I said I do not find much humor in this at all.

I come from a same yet different interracial background  so I  fully understand your concern. My hope is that so many of the knee jerk reactions will subside quickly. A complete civil war meltdown has no humor.

I think that presenting our best side publicly can help to overcome certain people's feelings of fear and hate.  A smile and caring nature seems to go farther than a frown.

I'm not willing to go to any personal wars or harm myself for the satisfaction of others. I am being much more aware and precautions lately. I do find much of the reactions from all sides silly. I do hope in all this we eventually find more harmony than division. I can only live to my conviction to charm to disarm. That is not easy when many groups keep drawings lines in the sand.

I hope we find a new era of peace soon.

I didn't mean to seem like I was belittling you post Jody. The Media I feel is mostly to blame for this precived racial divide  in our country and attempt to keep those wounds wide open for if nothing else click bait. Most of it is manufactured by liberal social elites that are so far out side the realm of realities that most americans actually live in they may as well be from another planet. They see america as black or white with out seeing that in most of the country we have overlapped quite extensively . The latinos I know thier finacial struggles are as real as mine the African amercians I know their struggles are as real as mine and in that we find a common bond that transends the color of our skins. But to the liberals I'm inherently racist because I am white. Blacks are impoverished because they are black, latinos should live under constant fear of deportation. The thing I take some amount of heart in is that racial protests are small they rarely ganer more than a few hundred attendees. What this tells me or atleast I hope it is telling me is that the vast majority of black white and latino americans have resisted the fear mongering and race really dosn't matter as much as the social elite try to force America to believe. Other wise these protests BLM WLM would have millions of attendees and blood would be flowing like a river right now. It gives me hope that we are all really better than that :)

I have now moved on from the survey job,  now that we are in the busy event season.  I'm so glad too.

The post election survey was very propaganda. Sorry to say a very slanted Republican damage control. Few people participated. Democrats hung up mid way as the survey hammered them to now vote Republican. White retirees were the bulk that participated.

Questions disturbing to me were asking things like: do you think whites are discriminated as badly as black and hispanic? Dah! Why don't we end ALL discrimination, instead of trying to perpetuate white privilege. Should the new president break the rules (laws)? Anyone that answer yes should remember that will come around and bite them in the butt. Elders did not want to raise the minimum wage,  but oh no don't mess with my Medicare or Social Security! Give me mine,  but keep those people down where they belong.

Yes I can give the new president a chance, but we certainly need to keep all eyes open at our government. That and I hate the term white. I  prefer human or caucasian. I want to disassociate from all WASP whites. I want a world that is inclusive not exclusive. My best advice is to get a propaganda cell phone number blocking app. Get rid of the arcane and obsolete electoral college that keeps the will of the people from electing those people we really want. Election should be based on solid truthful information and track records, stop the dirty mud slinging.

Please help a lady down from her podium. JodyAnn

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3

That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Congratulations! and Happy Trans Birthday @LittleSam! That is such a BIG milestone.  I can still remember walking out of my clinic with my first HRT presciption.  I was on Cloud-9.  Wishing you all the best in the start of your new Journey!

Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.
