Big fight with my gf. Turns out she's lying about something really big(not tg related though) So what happens? I got to the local drug store and buy ale at 11am. After having a bottle of rum(which I was saving) but being Siberian plus enough practice a bottle of rum isn't enough. Anyways, this post is just about being so upset to drink like I used to before my detox. Just hope I won't have to detox again. Just my current feelings.

I understand how you feel, hon.  But staying sober is really, really important.  If you have a friend or two IRL that you can confide in, please talk to them and share your feelings.  That might help get you through this bit of crisis without resorting to the bottle.

Another option is logging in to Chat to have a real-time conversation with one of our crisis counselors.  They can help you find alternatives to drinking and may help in other ways, too.  It's worth a try.

Take care, and good luck.

HUGS

Hi Bunneh,

Just a word of wisdom I've picked up from experience and my recovery program. No matter how difficult it may be to stay off the bottle, it's always more difficult to get off the bottle.

Lots of love,

I'm sorry you had to resort to the bottle but i remember too well the desire to "find comfort" in the bottle after an argument with my wife.  Alcohol can easily seem a good path but in my experience i soon found myself picking fights or feeling sorry for myself just to justify another round of drinking.  As my addiction progressed i didn't need to justify.  I simply needed to exist.  Many folks i know have said that once they picked up things resumed as they had been before and quickly grew worse.  Please reach out for help.  I've found that there are few situations that drinking and using can't make worse.  Sobriety is an easier way.

Well I'm not sure whether that night was worth it. The negatives are now I'm having withdrawl and ended up hitting on a guy...

Eventually i got to a point where i was certain none of it was "worth" it.  Even so i also found i couldn't stop.  The fun had ended and the addiction began.  Fortunately i found others who have helped me with a path.  We never have to feel that way again and are here to help anyone who reaches out.

Hugs,

Alcohol certainly can make us do  things we later regret.

Here's wishing you a better day today.

I only get upset that what I do and saw when drunk is the truth.

I hear you. I too get pretty open with the truth. And regret it later.

I was drinking socially ine evening with a group of folks. One guy tried to rib me about something I said by calling me a girl. I recall telling him rather loudly that, "is that supposed to insult me? I'm honored to be called a girl!"

Then the silence and stares ensued.

Awkward...
