Getting Hormones on Maui?

This topic was posted a number of years ago and after reading through all the posts it did not really seem like there was a conclusion about getting hormones on Maui.  I am currently in therapy discussing my gender dysphoria issues and I am wanting to get started on hormones at some point soon.  Planned Parenthood in Maui does not offer the HRT currently but they say that they may start offering in the next couple of months.  In the mean time I was just wondering if anyone knew of trans friendly doctors that have experience with HRT for Male to Female?  I am sure that there are doctors around that can help with this but there are not many transgender individuals that I can find to ask for advice and for help.  I know there are doctors on some of the other islands that I will have to use as a last resort but if I can save money and not fly to other islands just for a doctors appointment that would be ideal.

Hello Jennifer, 

I know its difficult to find appropriate care when you are on an island.  I googled "endocrinologist on Maui" and came up with a number of doctors in Wailuku and Kahului.  I've found: Hawaii Endocrine Associates, Maui Lani Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, & Maui Gastroenterology.   You'll have to call to determine if they are transgender friendly as no information is given.

I just want to post an update for future people in Maui that are looking for offices that have lots of experience with the LGBT community and HRT.  The office that I found was the Makana 'O Ka Ola Health and Wellness Clinic in Wailuku, HI.
