Great experience this evening.

So I needed a few things that were on sale, I decided to go dressed as myself. Now the thing is I did not believe that I would pass. I dressed in ankle boots, jeans t shirt, a bracelet on each arm necklace, ring on my little finger, and pink lipstick no makeup, I did take the eletric razor to my face before I left. 

I passed a lady that said hi I replied hi. At the checkout I visited with the clerk just small talk, then she commented she liked my bracelet. I thanked her then told her I got it at a craft sale last spring then the lady behind me commented and we had a nice little chat. It was so nice to talk and be accepted as the woman I am. 

What an ego boost this was. I know that it will not be this way all the time. It seems to be my perception most of the time that prevents me from the things I long to do.

It's an incredible feeling when we don't think we pass and others are just "hey there, it's nice to meet you!"

The same thing happens to me, but in my case it's my fingernails that draw attention. I try keeping them painted (occasionally using acrylics if my own break too short) and often someone I interact with will complement me on my nails. A few of them will go a step further and either ask where I had them done or what color polish I'm wearing. I'll either happily say I did my own nails or sheepishly admit I'm not sure what color they are since I don't pay attention to the polish names. I should probably start doing that
