I’ve seen a lot of posts on the breast growth side of things around. But I have a question I haven’t found much help with.

I have zero breast growth. But I do have the pain. I always kind of just played off that it would be a little sore and whatever right?! Nope. This is pretty serious. Well with my 3 year old around it is. Lol. I swear that kid has some sort of laser targeting system because every day he jams his little bony elbows right into my nipples and gees Louise! That is a serious bang. Haha.

So I was wondering first how long this lasts? Not the 3 year old being a three year old but the soreness. ? And second is there anything that helps the pain? It’s just a dull pain till he comes around and it’s manageable. But I tell you what he is like the master of hitting those buttons over and over again.

Thanks

Kirsten

OMG! A laser targeting 3 year old is dangerous. :D

How long have you been on HRT, Kirsten? The soreness/pain/etc sounds pretty typical, and at least for me it's lasted quite a while. I'm 1.5 years in and still have sorenesss. I'm hoping that once they stop growing that will diminish. Luckily no 3 year old elbows to deal with, though!

Hugs,
Julie

Oh wow! 1.5 years. I am at 14 weeks now on a very low dosage. And I’d say I’ve had soreness for about 2 weeks.

I’ve been trying cold compresses which help. And some very light massaging which seems to help too. My wife told me I should use Shea butter as well but I haven’t done that yet.

If it wasn’t for my son I think it’d be fine but it is seriously something when he gets em. I’ve even checked to see if they were bleeding because of the pain! Lol.

Thanks SugarMagnolia

Kirsten.

Kids do seem to focus on that area. not intentionally, but I have two twins that hit them constantly when I see them. Also if I roll over in bed wrong I hit them myself. :? Ah, the joys of puberty!!

Lmao. That’s exactly what my wife tells me if I complain about anything.

Hello Kirsten:

I am like you with the breast development.  Just do not have a 3 year old.  I am in the same boat with myself being on HRT since January 18th and there is no sign, but the sorness is still there.  I found for myself that wearing a sports bra helps out with cushion and protection for now.

Bye for now

I started on hormones last Sept 19th and have some development. For the most part they just seemed to poke out, but last week while getting ready for bed I noticed that they were starting to sag. :(

Kirsten, I was looking through my notes and at 90 days I had started to notice a little bit of growth, but it was mainly soreness at that point. Sounds like we were on a similar timeline!

And my wife has zero sympathy either!

I did low dose at first and pain was noticed first before any growth.  But that is an indicator that growth is happening.  Is there relief?  Not that I've found except to avoid bumping into them.  I still get periods of pain so just hang in there.  It's the price we pay!

Thank you all so much for the replies. I must say I am not looking forward to the soreness lasting so long. But I guess just another check on the list. I’ve actually been hoping for no breast growth at all. But I wasn’t actually thinking that would happen. My mom is a 32dd so odds are I’ll gain something. Hopefully not much.  That’s probably pretty odd for me to say. But I am honestly ok with most of my body as is. But with all the pain I better get something that I’ll love at the end. Haha.

I will be trying the sports bra when I can especially around the lil guy. Thanks Amy.

Could that be that they are shaping? Seems like all breasts have some hang to them.

That scares me a little Sugar. I have not started my real hrt at this point. I started selfing in January. (I know I know)  I am on an extremely low dosing. And I have been to my dr to have blood work done and was told all is good. But I am 9 days from my first appointment at Fenway health in Boston. So my dosing will most definitely be higher. If I’m following a similar path what will my path be at the higher levels. Ugh. Anxiety.

Well i guess it’s going to be what it’s going to be. I am on the 1 step at a time path. It’s just another step. Just another step.

They seemed to be more firm, so I supposed that they are starting to take shape. They definitely look like breasts, not moobs!! :D:D

You are on the right path, one step at a time. I'm glad that you have an appointment with a doctor that can prescribe the proper dosage for you, self medication can have serious ill effects. Good luck with the lil guy!

Hugs,

Brandi

I am just over 8 months on hrt, and on a lo dose I think. I do not remember when I noticed the tissue growth but at about four months it was more comfortable to wear a sports bra than go without. I was measured at Victoria’s Secret last month and she said I needed a b cup. I think she was generous but they fit nice and are comfortable. Yes I got a push up bra.

This girl likes curves even if I get them that way.

a sports bra with a stiff foam pad will help cushion the small bumps. I am still tender but do not have a three year old.

Good luck

I went through this about 8 years ago, and the painful period was around a full year.  The pain did subside for quite a while but then a ticklish period that lasted about 4 months was nearly worse.  Every darn shirt or blouse I had, even circus tent size was agony of tickling.  About 7 months before my GCS they went into an "erotic"  phase and I did not want anyone to touch me, although a good dry terry washcloth helped sometimes.,  My E has been the second to the lowest dose they make, and now it is in patch form.  It is a fun ride, it is a real ride, but not always a really fun ride,

I'm writing this to encourage everyone to be patient, breast growth doesn't happen quickly as it does for genetic females, it's a long, much slower process and takes into account genetic propensities. My breast growth experience started about 24 years ago. I experienced the aches, tickling, itching just like everyone complains of. I had "minis" for a long time, just little cones and was self conscious about it because they looked larger than they really were when looking down at my own chest. I was always banging them with the cupboard doors until I got used to the idea that they were there and I was no longer a flat chested person. Over the years they finally took off and grew up, but buy now I'm not as concerned since I'm not planning to follow through with SRS and have decided to remain just as androgynous as possible, so I minimize them and don't go to the extremes I did half a dozen years ago when I took this selfie. I was wearing an underwire bra which makes the most of what you have, over a Victoria's Secret long-sleeved T. I cut my head and face out of the photo for anonymity and I'd rather not be responsible for breaking your computer monitors.  ?

I fully intend to simply write a check for what the boob fairy does not provide. I guess my tactic will be to keep people from looking at my face by baffling them with what’s under the hood. Then again I have the initial referral for FFS coming so we will see what that consult shapes up today, I’m quite wondering what’s possible with the face structure that I have. If I have my way, I think I just want to be like mom, and she had triple D’s.

Well honestly I don’t have a lot of money in the bank, but I’ll save every penny tell it’s happening, well that and I really only have to pay for 20% of the operation as my insurance pretty much covers it, I have to go over all the details with them but from what I understand it shouldn’t be a big deal. However if it comes down to it, a trip to LA and a couple weeks stay with some friends with a badly drained bank account would get the job done too...

 Hey MarcI,

Yeah I guess that’s very true, when I want something I find away, I really was no different with an RV, a collector car, expensive business equipment, sports car, a home, a boat, 12 motorcycles and so on and so on. Now I just want two little things, well maybe not little, but I want them nonetheless, And I’ll find a way to pay for them if I have to, I don’t really want budget boobs, I want bang bang knock ‘em dead boobs!

HA!!!!

But honestly I’d rather be able to buy my bra off the rack and have to order something special, so I’m pretty sure triple D would be fine with me, if I feel that a little bigger is the right way to go I’ll pick whatever feels right, I don’t want to do this more than once so it will be the limits of my flesh and the limits of my pocketbook, but I don’t think I’m asking for too much.

Hugs,

Jae

Jae,

I would recommend getting something that would be complementary to your height and the general breadth of your chest as opposed to a couple of enormous jugs that draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Sure you want to look attractive, but don't overdo it. It has everything to do with why I got rid of the underwire bras you surely don't want to make the statement that says "look at me, I am the sum total of my boobs!" Not only that, you don't want to become the brunt of people's jokes in the event you get read by someone in public who feels a need to out you. We who emanate initially from the born male side have a tendency to think that boobs are important to feel like a woman, it's not so. Just trying to be helpful and not at all critical here. Wishing you great success sweetie!

I tend to always wear a sweater or loose to top to understate any growth. I need to feel relaxed when in public .

I experienced very little soreness although they were sensitive for a while. I will be 2 months off spiro (not needed after orchiectomy) when I see my transition doctor this Tuesday and i will be interested to see what my levels are.

As far as bras go my feeling these days is why wear one if I don't need to.

Besides it is summer now.

All that being said I am happy with the growth I have had and I guess I am lucky not to have had too many issues.

Still a hippy at heart I guess.

I agree with you Rachel, I can't stand the extra heat and sweat wearing a bra during the Summer months. I find that a ribbed tank top under a loose fitting shirt open at the front suits my needs well enough, or just a loose fitting cotton shirt by itself is sufficient.

i usually wear a bra during the day but i've got one big exception.  When i'm loading haying the barn in July and August when the temps are always high and the hay seeds and broken bit's mix with perspiration there is no way i can bare a "catcher" half way down my chest.  it's a wet T shirt contest.

Hugs,

Charlize

Oh and talking about "a catcher" I am forever getting crumbs stuck in my cleavage, I hate it! Worse yet breasts are like a shelf that catches everything. I have ruined more than a few tops with greasy spots from something with mayonnaise squishing out of a sandwich and landing there. Grrrrrrr!

Good afternoon M.A.   Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums, I think you'll find that there are a lot of us who had their first therapist reconsidering our story and recommended us to gender or LGBTQIA specific therapist. I made my first therapist cry after asking me what was my worst experience or memory. She was not prepared for the can of worms I brought to the couch. My second therapist is a gem, she's my age and knows how to work with my thoughts.    My two kids were also involved in the arts programs in school one in theater, the other combined art and modern music.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I'm wearing a white t shirt and jeans.  The t-shirt is softer than a man's and slightly girly.  Feeling kinda pretty.

That's very common in internet forums and it is hard not to take it personally sometimes.   You might post "bump" with a smiley face to bring it to the top of the stack, or you might use the @ feature if there are certain people you would really like to have comment on it, and say something like Dear Abby, I would really like your input on this.  Please take a minute and respond.  Thanks!!!

Something else I noticed @Ladypcnj Since I use the Unread tab, I don't see threads I've read again until someone replies to it, or the author adds something.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
    • Mmindy
Good morning @Ladypcnj   Some posts get lost in the busy times here. It also maters how people navigate the site. Some only look at their notifications, or tap the All Activity tab which shows them thread they've commented on. (how I see it)... I on the other hand use the Unread tag under Activity. I don't think people ignore post as much as they get caught up reading threads they've already been active in.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
    • Ladypcnj
What to do if post is being ignored?
