McDONALD'S PROBLEMS

Has anyone had a problem with McCorp (better known as McDonald's) where they act supportive even though they really aren't and then lies to cover their asses about what happened du your calls to complain because they're the one's in the wrong or is it Just me?

Has there been a problem of some kind regarding their corporate interactions with our community, or is this about something more generic?  I haven't heard of anything in the media lately.

Do keep in mind that McD0nalds is a franchise. So that means that they are not under the complete control of McDonald's corporate. If a franchise does do something that is discriminatory there is little McDonalds Corporate can do unless there is solid proof of discrimination. Like a video of it leaking on facebook.

I recall several years ago watching a phone video made by an onlooker as two violent black girls pounded the living daylights out of a white trans woman at a MeDonald's on the east coast , it was tough to watch. The franchise manager just stood there and did nothing and was by nature complicit and approving the attack, the woman was injured, there was a media dustup and a lot of denial. I recall that someone was fired over it eventually.

"McRage" is real, I don't know what it is, but so much violence at these places seemingly. Just last week a brutal hatchet attack in front of a McDonalds in downtown Seattle. I can recall at least 2 murders in the past year at McDonalds in the suburbs here in Western WA. These places seem to be a "hang out" place that attracts a certain type of activity....Police regularly patrol their parking lots. I tend to avoid these places, although I like the taste of a big mac, not very good for me, but it tastes good.

This article is 7 years old, but it's so true (sorry to say)

Yeah, having worked there in the 70's, and having met Ray Kroc, he would roll over in his grave if he knew what kind of place it has become.  Most stores are dirty, sloppy, the food is of inconsistent and poor quality (with exceptions) and many of the employees have an "I don't care" attitude.  I would not have stayed there as long as I did if it had been this bad back then.

I beat @Carolyn Marie by a few years at working at one near me (1966-7).  I never met the big boss, but I did get a different vibe back then than I do now.  I hate to say this, but it was numbers controlled even then, and it has become even more so since then.  You cook a piece of meat at a certain temperature for X minutes and seconds and serve it without the person doing the cooking have any control or interest over the quality, nor for that matter do they really care because the computer rules them.  Too many of the employees and managers know nothing about customer service, nor is there flexibility in assigning employees to certain duties in a discretionary manner. (IE: cleaning a part of the dining area when a person has gotten sick immediately and not just "on the clock".)
