Shortly after i transitioned i also had trouble doing the things i had done for years as a man.  My cabinet shop sat idle as did the sawmill.  There was period when i simply had to find myself.  What did it mean to be me and open to the world?  Time has passed.  The farm continues and my shop and mill may not be as active as they once were.   I think that is more a matter of circumstances than gender change.  I certainly don't do as much mechanical work as i once did.  I guess i do more of what i enjoy now than i once did.

You may find that as well JoJo.

Hugs,

The hormones definitely do a number on one's brain. I had an initial phase where my male brain took a 90 degree turn where all I could think, dream, and emote about was female things. Finally it returned to center where I could at least think rationally and quit being the complete idiot I had been acting like. As the years went by my interests have changed in a big way. I used to hunt and fish I liked to shoot at the local range, reload and even cast my own lead bullets. I haven't touched any of that stuff in years, the guns in the locker are gathering dust and spider webs. My interests have turned to plants and flowers and tending to my Koi fish and maintaining the enormous pond and waterfall I created.

.

I second this statement, I have lost the desire... Hard cast lead with some extra tin has always worked great for me, even in 9mm and 38 super, but I find myself considering selling everything off to buy clothes and shoes... Maybe I’ll keep my sweet little 1966 22lr Remington 572 pump, it is magically accurate at rediculous distances, and just plain fun...

Jae

Selling off firearms and tools is a mistake, just put them away. There may come a time in this country that you will need those things to survive, if not to use yourself, they may be worth plenty while bartering for something you really need.

I can't say this is true for natal women because I know some pretty sharp ones but the change to E has dulled the intensity of how I look at things.  Ditsy, I don't want to admit to that but I've gotten indecisive at times.  Like Charlize my shop isn't used as much as it once was.

I don't know if this is normal but since stating  HRT colors look different than before the only way I can describe it is they look much sharper in tone as if I see them more clearly than before, as for changes in activity I always did the family cooking mostly out of necessity now I do it for pleasure in see what I can do.

I absolutely agree with this, I don’t know what it is but colors are definitely more vivid now somehow, my favorite color changed as well, sadly I kind of stole that color from my wife and she resents it... I agree with the latter as well as I’m really excited about kitchenware now! I really like 50s era colors and patterns, but it seems like the easiest thing to be able to match with all the available colors will just be red, but red kitchenware is kind of neat so I guess that would work and I think it would be a little more cost effective since they’re so much availability.

Jae

It is interesting that several of you mentioned colors.  I just saw a youtube video which stated that females can perceive more colors then males.  Have any of you noticed more sensitive sense of smell?

@Janeshannon.    Oh yes absolutely, my sense of smell is definitely getting rather confusing, right after I finish a workout I swear that every single time I smell some kind of chemical or chlorine smell and I’m not sure if it’s coming from my sweat or if it’s in the workout room but it’s a really odd thing that I’ve never experienced before. I can also say that some food smells are simply turning me off hard-core now even though I kind a like the Food being prepared. For whatever reason preparing eggs in the kitchen is starting to really bug my sense of smell even though I love eggs so I don’t quite get that either. I will say however that the biggest thing I’ve noticed is my sense of taste, as my palate has completely changed. And I wish I understood some of the things going on with my brain but I’m definitely feeling some rather different things going on. I once watched a comedian Do a bit on the differences between the male and female brain, I want to say it was George carlin but then again I don’t think it was George carlin so I can’t be sure, but he described the female brain is a ball of wires that has a constant flow of thoughts and many thoughts simultaneously where a woman could pick and choose between any thought at any given moment processing all of them simultaneously. Where a man could only do one thing at a time much like a single drawer library that must be opened and closed for each independent thought as each thought had to be accessed then put away then the new thought accessed then put away for a new thought. I honestly thought this was a great description, and I guess it’s possible that my ball of wire brain is starting to function since these other thoughts are invading my  singular focus.

Jae

Hello, Keira! I'm at 2 1/2 months and can agree with everything you've written, except the the BP change. I now find men's room awful places to visit, especially if someone else is there. I also went out looking very girly yesterday and visited a Home Depot. It was not a pleasant experience. I felt everyone was looking at me though I know this wasn't true. I felt a bit vulnerable too because I'm very thin.

Overall, I'm VERY happy to be where I'm at :)

I have to say, many or most of my interests didn't change.  I can say that I've added things but I haven't really stopped doing what I did before.  Some things better...some things with more effort.  LOL

I'd love to have a dinner party with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Voltaire, and Ayn Rand.  Would definitely be an interesting time.

In the forward I learn that transgenderism is bad, and somewhere else that transgender ideology is bad.  I have not yet read a definition of either in the document.  I assume they are the same.  I know Focus on a Family has a definition of transgenderism on their website, or did, but I am not sure this is the same as that.  I might agree that transgenderism is bad if they use a definition I condemn (e.g. transgenderism means you always pour ketchup in your shoes before you put them on - I could not agree to that).  Is someone who believes in transgenderism, whatever it is, a transgenderist? I never see that term.  There may be other definitions out there, but I don't think there is an Official Definition that we all agree to.

Crazy fact, was gonna go to the school where this went down at before I moved, have a lot of friends there. I know at least one of my friends met the guy on one occasion, not knowing who it was.

They are thinking of Loudon.  The problem there was the girls were not protected from a known predator, who was moved from one school to another instead being effectively disciplined.  Outlaw school administrators? <sarc>

How ironic.  I agree with the governor "“You cannot change your gender; you cannot pick your gender…there is a confused group of people that somehow think you can,”    - we are what we are, we are fighting the fact we CANNOT change our gender, which we did not pick.  Many if not all of us would not have picked a trans condition and have sought to evade, deny or move out or resolve it anyway we can.  Those who are confused on this issue are not trans folk.  They want us to change our gender but they deny we can.  Confusion.

@FinnyFinsterHH no one can satisfy your questions about what will the future hold. But I can advise you to slow your mind down as much as you're able. Take it slow and one moment at a time. This advice goes beyond the practical reality that that's truly all you can do - further, try to enjoy each moment. It's clear you have a lot of aspirations regarding transition. But it's best to try to accept the bounds of your life circumstances at present because if you develop worries or even resentments about them, that will only make you bitter and more anxious. Instead, try to focus on anything you find affirming. Practice positive self-talk and give yourself affirmations too. Try to let go of expectations of your family members - they can only deal with change to the capacity they're able due to their own life conditions. Allow them grace as you wish they would allow you. Practice patience.   Try this exercise - read through your post and make one list of the positive developments and another of things you cannot control (including the future). If you have a sense of spirituality, offer the second list as a sacrifice to however you understand a higher power - leave it in their hands. If you're not spiritual, then offer it up to hope. Then throw that list away. Keep the list of positives and leave some room on it because guaranteed you'll have more and more to add. Look forward to that, but don't let your mind think it can rush things. Try to enjoy the ride.

I still have not read much of this.  Very little of this document pertains to trans folk.  Some of the statements are more than problematic concerning trans folk.   It certainly was not written just to get us.   " those with gender dysphoria should be expelled from military service."  and "Reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military. Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service,"  https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_CHAPTER-04.pdf are two lines out of hundreds if not thousands regarding the Department of Defense, targeting trans folk in an almost off-hand manner.    So if a fighter pilot, say, or a ship's captain, highly experienced and trained at enormous expense, is determined to be transgender (method unknown) the US loses someone badly needed due to the personnel shortage who is ready, willing and able to perform their duties.  Many trans folk have served well and transitioned later.  I don't think this point is well thought out.    A number of policy recommendations I would disagree with.  I am not sure there is a method to discuss those with the authors; I am attempting to find out.  I have good conservative creds.    They are fully intending to implement this, regardless of who the president is, as long as that president is conservative. It is not Trump centered.  I don't think he had anything to do with it.

I wear a Delimira Mastectomy sleep bra with Vollence sleep rated breast forms. The form fit inside pockets so they don't touch your skin. I bought the bras on Amazon and found the forms on eBay. They were much less expensive than buying through the other sources.

I wore an olive corduroy coverall dress with a navy blue shirt underneath.

@LittleSamCongratulations on one of the biggest decisions. Looking forward to your progress.

I don't wear a bra to bed.  The girls aren't big enough to need it, but still enough to appreciate.  Just a flannel nightgown suits me fine.
