Dilation

I currently only have one single concern before requesting to be added to the wait list for vaginoplasty.  For those of you who have got the t-shirt, just how much does dilation effect your every day life.  I know after the first year it becomes less of a concern (as it's not needed as often), but for that first year, what should I expect?  I mean, I have a full time job, that I would eventually have to return to, I can't afford to go on long term disability to accommodate dilating and bleeding in the tub. 

So how have you managed?

I can't take that much time off, my disability pay isn't enough.  How long does it take each time you do it?  I have some flexibility at my job, and I work where I live so I can run home if needed for a short period.  If I can get away with hopping into the tub and just spraying down that would probably work for me.

With Dr. Rumer, it was 4X a day for the first 4 weeks after the packing came out. 20 minutes a day. I did 5 minutes purple, 15 minutes blue, gradually getting to 10 minutes blue and 10 minutes green. After that it was 3X a day for 20 minutes. Which is rough but doable while working. Basically I would do it once in the morning, once when I got home, and once when I went to bed. At 3 months it was 2X a day (once when I got up and once when I went to bed--the green dilator). After 6 months I went to 1X a day (again justthe green dilatorthe largest in the set of 3, but there is an orange one)that is one size larger), I usually do this before I go to bed..  

 

I was off the first month after surgery. You will need that time off. 

For months 2-3, it was a huge time sink.

For months 3 to 6, sometimes a pain when trying to have a night out.

For now, .from months 6 to present, it is still sometimes inconvenient and a chore but it does not interfere with my nightlife all that much.

I don't do the nightlife thing anyway, my only concern is work.  I'm gonna have to figure out how to get up earlier in the morning lol
