Am I Being Fetishized?

Before I found this forum, I began reaching out to as many trans-friendly people as possible. I wanted them to hear my story and get their opinions on whether or not they thought I was trans. I wanted to make sure I wasn't going through a phase. 

 

Everyone I talked to seemed to agree that I was, in fact, transgender. Then once that was out of the way, all they would want to do is sext with me. Which is not my thing. It made me feel like a object. 

 

Are these people fetishizing me, and if so, is this normal? Do people just view being trans as some kinky fetish?

When I first looked for a trans forum shortly after the internet was established all I found were porn sites where mostly mtf folks were exploited.  That simply wasn’t me so I never went farther for a long time.  I guess the answer to your question is that we are often looked at as interesting objects.  Fortunately this site has given many a safe place to find themselves with others who understand.

Well it seems this group is, and it may be their normal.  It doesn't have to be yours.  There are always fringes in any culture and I, like Charlize don't need or want that.  This site has provided me with a safe place to communicate with like minded people in a respectful manner.  I'm glad you found us too!

Trans chasers are a thing?! O.o 

 

Thanks for all the advice, guys. I think I'm just gonna try to get to know other trans people in the community and seek advice from them from now on. That way I can hopefully avoid the wrong kind of attention.

Lol yes. When I was younger I had a man who was more than double my age offer to pay for my transition 100% as long as I would be his “friend”. There are a lot of people out there that look at transgender as a fetish rather than a normal life. Beware of the internet. There’s lots of weird people out there.

A few years ago the internet was flush with weirdos for me. Now I get people like me who are great and supportive. Not sure if I matured, learned to avoid them or became boring for them but I'm glad of whatever the change was.  Just be careful who you talk to and things will work out.
