I decided two days ago to go full time on the voice - not that I have it, but that I need to keep what I have - about four months of working on it. I am at home now, between jobs.

I answer the telephone - 'I am looking for xxx (my wife)" and she explains why. I say "she's at work, I am her husband, can I help?" She say what she needs and I give her my wife's cell phone number. She says 'yes ma,m, thank you." Then she realizes I said "husband" and switches over to a confused "I mean sir."

Ahhhhh - passed on the telephone - not really trying. I am gonna keep doing that 'til I get 100% succesful What a natural high!

Anyway, that happens to me over the phone every now and then when someone feels the urge to specify gender based on voice. I just have a very feminine voice... I always have. At work I present male (since I haven't started a transition or anything yet), and it's funny because every customer I open my mouth to gives me the same sort of subdued o_O look after they hear my voice.

With me its really odd, I tend to have a more "toned" voice over the phone but in person though it is really different.. I never really understood it too much.

Congratulations, Trust me I know how exciting it is to know that your voice is becoming more and more feminine and the way you want it to sound and only helps build your self esteem and confidence. At work I used someone else's phone and used my Female voice to talk with a few people to test my new found voice and not once did I get called *Sir* or made to feel that my voice was anything else then Female. But like you I am not going to stop until I get 100% sure that my voice is as naturally feminine sounding as it possibly can.

'Specially phone conversations - there's, like, no grey area with those. You either give off the right impression or you don't.

My dad called home a few months ago and after we exchanged greetings and all that, he asked if I was my brother. Who is ultra-deep-voiced and in his late twenties.

All I could do was mumble "...N-no?" and bask in glee.
