Another quite smoky day in Northern California. We're far enough from the fire to not be in harm's way, but the sheer volume of smoke this far away makes one appreciate the magnitude of the blaze. Surgical masks are de rigeur for the local resident who craves clean lungs.

So sad to think of the loss of life, family homes and memories.

Hi,  Glad you are safe where you are.  Seems like this has been a pretty tough year for wild fires in California.  Stay safe.

Good morning all!

Sure glad we don't have fires burning around me. One got close to my home in Baldwin a few years ago.

Lot's of sunshine here today and warmer temps.

Lots of love and a good morning hug,

Timber Wolf?

Yes it is Julie, it’s so bad down here that you can see it inside our warehouse!   I was getting my nails done after work and they had the news on the television, I can’t believe the lost of life and all of those homes, it’s so sad.

On a more coffee related note, Instacart wasn’t able to deliver on time last night so I did not have toast today, however I did figure out where to put my avocados even if I didn’t slice them correctly and make them pretty.

It's like a Roman mosaic if they'd only had avocados and omelettes instead of plaster and tiles ?

Beautiful Nails, Jackie. One of these centuries I will get mine done. pamper myself, mani, pedi. the works. However mine are doing good on their own. I just hope I can keep them instead of breaking them. Have only broken one, recently, Knock on wood.

It snowed last night and since there were heavy winds before and during, the ground is littered with a leafy, snowy soup!

Good morning all!

I'm sitting here listening  to a most beautiful song that was playing as I first read my younger sister's reply to my coming out email a few years ago. She's been so supportive of me!

Lots of love and  a good morning hug,

Up early (for me) today.  I had an 8am appointment with my doctor.  After he was done with me he sent me to their lab for blood work.  Now my veins roll and I learned to ask them to use a butterfly to draw blood.  I told this person the same thing.  No, she didn't need to use a butterfly, she found a large vein and it was deep so she used the standard vacutainer needle.  Sure enough the vein rolled (which she admitted) so with the needle buried in my are she starts digging around until she finally pierced it.  Besides the uncomfortable pain of her digging, I now have a bruise and I don't bruise easily.

made my cup of black coffee (dark roast) but had only drunk part of it before the Dr.  finished it when I was done as it was in a YETI travel cup.  yes they are expensive but they work, lit was still hot over 90 minutes later.

Hugs to all and have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

I am not sure of all this talk of needles this time in the morning ? . It does remind me though, that I have to take my mother for her annual checkup and flu jab this time tomorrow. I think sticking to coffee sounds better :D

Kymmie,

I would much rather go to an AFB clinic than a Post Medical Call.  The AF treated us much better than the Army docs.  Guess they didn't like fly boys.  Last time I went to sick call was at Fort Belvoir, VA.  Why there and not Bolling AFB?  Because that's where we were assigned to go for some stupid reason.  Our duty site was a single building on Telegraph Rd in Alexandria VA.  Since we had no base or housing, we were all on our own.  Anyway, I had a ganglion cyst that hurt.  I went to sick call to see about it.  The Army Doc says, why are you here, I told him.  He says what it was and offers "You can have it cut out, but I wouldn't have anybody cutting on my wrist!'  I say but it hurts when I bend my wrist.  As he's walking away, "then don't bend your wrist".

Hope you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

It's cold but sunny here on the east coast.  I'm sitting down to oatmeal with blueberries from the farm, coffee and a glass of juice.  I've been sick the last few days with either an ear infection or a flu.  Fortunately i'm still able to do the chores and keep the wood stove filled and burning.

Have a Happy and Grateful Thanksgiving!

Hugs,

Hello all

Well, black Friday is nearly over at least on the east coast.  I never go anywhere near a store on black Friday.  I bought a new to me car this week.  I hope I didn't just buy a whole bunch of trouble.  I've never kept a car to be as old or have as many miles as this one has, but I can't afford more these days.

Had my usual cup of black dark roast this morning.  Left over turkey for lunch and pizza for supper.  It's supposed to rain tonight and most of tomorrow so I'll likely stay home tomorrow too.

Kymmie, I'm not exactly fighting my pink monster but I'm not exactly embracing her either.  I'm trying to get to an endocrinologist to see what they have to say about medical transitioning.  And I missed my Pillsbury Orange Cinnamon roll this year.  That's our goto holiday breakfast but we didn't get any this year.

Stay sane and away from the malls until things are a little quieter.

Good morning all!

I have just finished my mid morning pot of coffee, and about to get on.

I too avoid the shops during Black Friday. There are now lots of TV ads too and what with Brexit as well the off and mute buttons are getting much use. Don't people realise that both subjects are having a very negative effect on large numbers of people.

Well morning moan over, now for a bit of pampering before I go out. Enjoy your day!

Having taken on the site, forums, and all of the bills, from Dev (May 2020) and because I also want to be fully transparent about the cost of running the site, I feel it's time to update this information. Sorry that it has taken me two years since I last gave an update, just life getting in the way.   If you'd like to donate, please do so via the green bar at the top of the forum pages.  The months of July through October are pretty heavy with annual and semi-annual expenses and every little bit helps.   Here's the breakdown as it stands now:   Chat is now free. (Stu now runs the Chat)   Regular Charges: There are occasional one off's as well. Forums:  $70.00 every six months (February and August, effectively billed in January and July). (Was $45 until 2022, support ticket system depreciated!) Resource Locator:  $53.00 yearly, this "widget" failed this year, so I have been able to find a (currently) free replacement. Resource Locator Mapping: Google maps, currently under the minimum monthly usage, so free. Email Delivery: $5.00 monthly currently free, changed to a service that offers a much larger monthly allowance. Server Rental:  $30.00 monthly. Greatfully sponsored by The Breast Form Store. Security Software:  Now included in the package we have. Domain Renewals: Approx $75 annual charges for Transgenderpulse.com, Lauras-playground.com and the server domain. Contact Us Form Software: $79 yearly (August).   Total Monthly Breakdown: $54.50 per month.  (Annual bills = $654) Updated May 2024 (Slightly down on previous years).   Now then.  I'm on a fixed income, which means I know what it's like not having a penny to spare.  If you're not in a position to donate, please don't feel guilty; I didn't take over here to turn a profit.  The lights will stay on.  Donations are very much appreciated, but they are not a requirement of membership.   An update to clarify a couple of points: Because you have to use your legal name with PayPal, emails confirming your donation from PayPal will be from a name with the initials "DS", not Petra Jane and the email used is tgp (at) uk-web***   Unfortunately, we can only accept payment through PayPal, and please ensure that you have permission to make any donation through a PayPal account, we have been stung by someone alledgedly using a PayPal account without the owner's permission and incurred an additional $20 chargeback to refund the donation!   We have recently seen a number of these of late so I am asking that genuine donators please add your forum username in the comment box so that I, and I alone, will know who has sent the donation and that it is genuine. Thank you. Also, this appears only to Members who are logged in on the forums, New Members need to have made a minimum of 10 posts.   Let me reassure you: Donations help towards ongoing costs related to keeping the site running, including hosting, bandwidth, etc. It also encourages us to commit regular updates, add features, and improve the service. Our promise to you is that this site and its use will always remain free of charge.     Petra Jane

This is the dress I'll be wearing this evening while we watch the Kentucky Derby. Not sure if I'll throw on heels or flats with it - probably flats but I haven't worn heels in a while and the Force is strong.

Good morning, everyone!! I'm already on my 3rd cup of coffee and it's just 5AM. I can't imagine why no one else is here posting already!!??    It's supposed to be a cool day here with rain in the afternoon so no lounging outside for me. Our pool was opened yesterday so I'll make sure we have what we need to get it cleaned up and ready. The water temp is only about 60 right now so after I get the algae knocked down and the salt level right to begin making chlorine, I'll turn on the heater to warm it up. Probably a week before we'll be swimming.   Today is Kentucky Derby day so we'll put on dresses, hats and have a Mint Julep while we watch on TV.    Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!

I feel like it took a while to land in the 'middle zone', but it did happen. But obviously all those decades of testosterone poisoining take their toll, the middle zone is still preferable to the old life.

Everything that @MaybeRob said above is spot on with me too. The changes are much more subtle the older you start. I started HRT at 56 and of the feminine physical changes I experienced from HRT, 80% of all my changes happened by my 3 year mark. The other 20% of the changes are continuing still.   The feminine results I still see change happening in include: reduced and thinning arm, leg, and body hair, body fat redistribution to my hips and butt. There may be still some minor facial fat redistribution but at this point it’s getting harder to tell. The facial fat redistribution started after year 1. Also, I’m still on Progesterone which was added into my HRT regimen after year 1. I believe that is responsible for increasing the size and darkening the color of my nipples to a much more feminine look. I was happy about those changes because my BA procedure alone did nothing to improve that aspect of my breasts. I will be getting off Progesterone at the end of this year now that it has done its job. I will be 6 years on HRT this September. I’m guessing I may have a year or two left before all the expected changes will have occurred.   Hope that helps a little, Susan R🌷
