Morning All!  We had a little snow last night but it will warm to low 40's today.  I'm going to let it melt rather than bring out the shovel.  No where to go today!

Good morning all.  Well, it's cold here but relative to most of you it's actually pretty darn pleasant...and absolutely gorgeous out today.    But, we actually DID have to turn on the heat last night.  LOL  It got down to the low 30's oh my.  Be well everyone!

Hi everyone

took us 9hours to get home a distance of right about 500 miles. Learned som things about my new to me car.  First one is important , the gas gauge is accurate and the gas tank capacity is as advertised.  And the car calculated gas mileage is pretty accurate too.

Anyway good oof to be home and sleeping in my own bed .

Hugs

PS. New Years resolution, I’m giving up soda and chocolate.

Good morning

just made my coffee.   Gots lots of work to catch-up from my trips.  The yard is a mess but it’s too wet this morning and 100% chance of rain later.  On the other hand it will be mid to upper 60s here verses 30s and 40s at my daughters. Good to be home!

Yes Timber Wolf, chocolate.  It won’t be easy but neither is living our lives.  If I can do this, I can do pretty much anything.

Hugs

Good Morning, coffee tastes wonderful, just reflecting after over 6 years of Injections for my E, I switched back to the E patch last night. So easy to use, I won't miss the needles, although IM has been very good to me. No rain this morning, more on the way tonight.

Have a great Saturday all

I think I need to go grab a 2nd cup of coffee, the first one was good but my stomach is royally screwed up today. I was planning on playing house and rearranging everything since the walls got painted here a few days ago and I can start unpacking. I went down to visit with my friend in his house last night when some guests arrived and he offered us some homemade pork rinds, my tender little tummy just cannot take greasey fried things anymore, I’m paying the price today and will most likely be recovering all day long... ?

Sorry to hear that.  I know there are certain foods I enjoy that I can no longer eat beyond a bite.  Argh!  Hope you feel better in the morning.☀️

Yuck. I’v never been a fan of pork rinds and I have an allergic reaction to anything pork so I also have to abstain from eating pork. I’m actually much healthier because I avoid it. I would much rather eat baked chicken or fish. Now I do have one forbidden pleasure which is sour cream and kettle cooked potato chips but it doesn’t agree with me the next day. I’m trying to avoid anything greasy from now on but some habits are hard to break. Luckily my budget is too tight to splurge on chips and dip.

Pork rinds? If they are the same as pork scratchings her, I love them but I have to be very careful as they can be hard on the teeth ?

I have to be careful about what I eat.  a lot of different spices just tear me up.  Simple things like cinnamon, nutmeg, not the things you might expect like pepper.  My wife makes these cookies for Christmas called Sand Tarts.  rolled thin, have a pecan and cinnamon sugar.  She has to make mine without the cinnamon.

Wind is a howling here too. Looking at gusts over 50mph. Supposed to be in the lower 40s today. Will wait and see. Have a great Monday all.

Hi, hope you guys made it through the cold night.  Just about to make my coffee for the day.  Sunny and clear.  High in the 60s.

Found a “local” support group 90 minutes away.  I’m going to go to a meeting Saturday to see what they are all about.

Great.   I hope you enjoy it.  Give it a few tries as the first time may be a bit daunting.

 Good luck Josie!

Well I didn’t have coffee in my coffee cup this morning but I did use my coffee cup and I did use my coffee maker. Instead I decided to put some oatmeal in my great big coffee mug and run some hot water in there with a spoonful of sugar and a couple of vanilla coffee creamer’s, I know, that doesn’t sound too good, but trust me since I have no kitchen and no pantry with no other options this was not a bad breakfast.

Getting home last night was really interesting, the weather had turned and it absolutely poured throughout the area, there was flooding all over the place, and the little culvert that we drive over to get into the backside of the property was completely washed away and a raging river replaced it. My friends wife took a picture from their car as her husband  stared in disbelief at the edge of the water, one of our neighbors on the other side doing the same, they texted me telling me don’t bother coming home there’s no way to get there. I had to chuckle to myself, I grew up out here in these hills, and this was a pretty normal thing for us when I was a kid,  I knew within an hour or two since it was no longer raining the water would subside and either we would still have something to drive on top of or not. So when I got there two hours later what was left was pretty bad, the exposed culvert pipe and very little surrounding ground leaving at fairly large 2 foot or so gap on each side of the pipe...  well, that didn’t seem to stop Jackie and her plucky little 1998 Ford minivan, we managed to fly over the culvert pipe and get home, not even seriously damaging the undercarriage.  Sometimes I feel that is just how we were taught to drive here in Hazard county...

Yeee Haaa!  lol.  Glad you got home ok.

Jossie I hope your interview goes well.  Good luck!

Jani the first time will be difficult but I have to start somewhere. I don’t know much about this group as they are pretty secretive.  My first thought is like AA except they won’t even disclose where they meet until you ask and they decide that you are ok.

Well the interview was ok I guess but I’m probably not a good fit because I’m going to need to keep working my current schedule to catch up with finances until I’m safely back to a decent buffer. I’m also not too thrilled about the schedule that they want me to take because working nights is not compatible with my current living situation. Since I’ve got to work 2 more weeks to be able to switch jobs and still afford rent and I’m not going to be able to move for another 3 months or so, I’ve accepted that the job is not for me. I had to get the interview to find out though. But it’s probably for the best. Maybe it’s time to look at retail stores instead. I’m probably going to have to schedule a day to fill out applications my next day off.
