Good morning All. Coffees on.

Coffee is done... Life is improving... It's always been improving. Yesterday was just "one of those days"!

Folger's Rulz... Life is good!

Sigh... For years I would wake-up, sit and have my cup. Smoke some weed if I have it and contemplate life and it's insane functions.

What is different today, however, it that now these seeming useless thoughts are just my feminine nature saying, "Good Morning, dear! Life is good! Be your self and keep your chin up"

These thoughts have always been within me. Now I understand. The calming of contemplation has always been from the woman's point of view. I used to call it my logical moment. When all seemed right in the world, just misunderstood. Boy was I missing the point. ROFL

So!!!! Good Morning, Girls!

Thank you for being my friends!!!

Good morning girls!

I’m sitting here with my coffee.  Third day of total emersion as a woman.  First day was mostly just driving.  But yesterday was window shopping,  bought a necklace and a ring.  Had lunch, went to Ulta.  Then we changed from day wear to evening.  Redid my makeup bolder and went to dinner wearing a dress.  No one referred to me as anything but feminine pronouns.  It was great.  More browsing this morning then off to the beach with the dog.

I Even got my wife to laugh at a couple jokes about being dressed.  Never thought that would happen.

Hoping for another great day.

Hugs

 Hey Ashlee, very awesome !

I just finished my great big cup of coffee here at work before I wander into the warehouse and start getting some production needs met at the production floor. Our little Keurig coffee maker at work is starting to make some pretty rattly noises but it continues to make coffee so until it breaks I guess we’ll just keep abusing it!

I’m excited to get my license back in the mail soon, the last time I was at the DMV to do registration the girls at the front got really excited when they realized I was in transition, they couldn’t stand letting me keep that old picture on there or allowing the male gender marker to stay. I felt like a bit of a rockstar as a couple of the girls took me over to the computer and helped me fill out a new application, then one of them walked me over to a window where they had actually closed the window to wait for me and process my application to change my gender marker... Then they sent me over to the line to get my picture, I hope I didn’t blink.

A couple of the girls were crowding behind the agent at the desk doing my processing and they had some questions, since they were so polite I answered a few questions and felt like the trans ambassador there at the DMV,  I don’t think anyone overheard anything but I didn’t mind one bit.  They were so shocked that my old picture and my current reality are so different they couldn’t quite get over it, I imagine that’s how people who once knew me feel these days. ?

Oh my gosh! That's sooo exciting! Congratulations. For now I can only imagine. One step at a time I suppose. That really is really awesome!

I'm glad things are going well Jackie. It's nice to have good news over coffee. I have not got that far yet as I am slow starting this morning. It is perhaps a good thing that it is winter as I have just driven my partner to the station in my pyjamas. They consist of a furry top and yoga bottoms today, in the cooler weather, so not too outlandish :D Shortly comes the morning coffee though!

Wow such special treatment from DMV employees Jackie, how nice, I bet that felt great :)

On my first cup here, and coffee always seems to taste better on the weekend. I like to get up early and prepare for the day, we have dry cool weather here, high pressure has set in and should be a nice day, my friend and I are probably gonna do some bicycling on the trails a little later today.

Enjoy your day everyone

Great news! I dream of the day I can walk into DMV and do that! Congratulations!

First cup of coffee today and I’m awake! Finally found a happy medium with my sleep and today I’m a little more optimistic. One more day and then the weekend! I’m going to dedicate my days off to cleaning and catching up on laundry. Today I can even get to work a little early. It’s frigid outside and I’m really not looking forward to the cold but it’s a necessary evil. It’s warmer than yesterday though but that’s a relative term.

Cold morning with a warm fire in the stove and a hot cup of coffee.  My usual orange juice and a bowl of oatmeal with blueberries i picked when the heat was unbearable outside.  Yesterday i finished all the preparations at the sugar house  on the tubing and collection building.  Now we just need a period of cold nights and days above freezing.

Jackie i was blessed to have similar experiences at the DMV here in NJ.  The ladies there were great and since then i've felt like a rockstar.  I was scared going in and left feeling better about myself and the world.  I've experienced some negative reactions as well but when it's good it's wonderful!

Hugs,

I hope to have such a great experience the day I go to get my first female license. Some century. Sorry but I didn't even have coffee this morning. I feel so ashamed of myself. LOL. Work was boring, since I was into overtime at 11:30 this morning I jumped ship early. Windy and cold outside. Wish I had a wood stove or a fireplace to warm keep warm in front of. Again maybe some century.

Hi,

Coffee is made.  Having my first cup.  My son is here for a couple day visit.  Always great o have him here.  While he has yet to see me as Willow, he knows and is supportive.

I’ve ordered my first swimsuit.  It’s not exactly what I wanted but I couldn’t find what I was looking for.  I guess it’s jst a bit too early to have everything out yet.

Cloudy but warmer than it’s been lately.

Hugs

It’s not as cold today yet but it’s supposed to get chilly out once it stops raining and the sun comes out. I’m sipping my mocha coffee and trying to think of everything I need to shop for before I leave the house. Then I have to do laundry which is going to be difficult on this tight budget. It’s also nice to have a cleaned house for once since I’ve actually got time and energy.

It's 20 degrees but with a windchill of -6! Tem is supposed to drop all day. definite coffee weather for sure!

It’s about -1F here, not including the wind chill. We’re expected to get at least 6” of snow but could get over 1’. Wish I didn’t have a meeting today and could of worked from home. At least the green teas are helping keep me warm.

Have be a great day everyone and stay warm.

Hi everyone,

As I sitting here with my coffee, I’m thinking about everyone being hit with the extreme artic cold.  Yes, it will get cold here too, but cold can be relative.  Nothing like the -1 to -60 wind chills.  Please stay warm and covered. It doesn’t take long for frostbite to set in and you don’t always notice it’s happening at first.

My my sons visit is drawing to a close.  He leaves today to visit a high school lifetime friend to celebrate his friend’s birthday.

Hugs

Up early again on my day off. For some reason I can't sleep in  anymore. Just waiting to pour my morning cup. I know I should already have it. Today and tomorrow is another trip to Cheyenne, for Counselor visits. See a new on tomorrow a MH pharmacist. She is replacing my long time counselor who is having vision problems and can no longer see patents. I am going to talk to her about HRT and other drug/health interactions. Just for my own information.

Looks like a balmy 3 degrees on the back fence now. Good thing I am taking the car with remote start so I can get into a warm car for the drive.

Stay warm everybody.

This cold is crazy! Here it’s supposed to be below 0 tomorrow with windchills in the -30 area from what I’ve heard.

But for now it’s nice out. 25° right now with a real feel of 21. Double sweatshirt weather today for me. But still no coat! Tomorrow I’ll have to dig it out though. Brrrrrr!

We are a bit east of you here in NJ so it's still warm at 30.  Tomorrow 1 is forecast with high winds.  Fortunately our goats aren't due to have kids until the 11th of Feb.  If it's too cold we can have big losses which is so sad to deal with.  Today no tights but that changes next morning.

Oh well i'll finish this cup, the third, an buzz my way out to chores.

Hugs,

Charlize

Thank you KayC!  I am just trying to keep breathing. I don't have a huge amount of time in my life for self exploration.  My job and responsibilities have me second guessing all my inner work.  I do have time off in the summer - coming up soon as I am a teacher.  Only a few workshops.  Looking forward ward to some introspection.     :) Mealaini

Yes, essentially. As Julia Serano says, they view trans outcomes as intrinsically worse than cis outcomes.

I used to but now its just lip gloss every now and then, in a subdued tone.

Yeah, a lot of times I don't really have anything to add to the conversation. There are some threads I seldom post on.

I have seen some things about this.  As I remember it was not very trans-friendly. The people doing these things seem to minimize the positive aspects of transition, and maximize the potential problems. Basically, make it as difficult as possible (without outright banning it) to discourage anyone from doing it.

Good morning    woke up to some light rain this morning.  Maybe I should run out with a giant umbrella to cover the car.   Ha ha ha.     I’ve had really nice cars before but never something like this.     @KymmieL I hope you got to go on your ride. Back when I had my Harley we went out for a ride almost every weekend. We would head either SW down the Shenandoah Valley or Skyline Drive which danced along the tops of the Mountains or we would head west into West Virginia and just travel along until it was time to find our way home.   occasionally I wish I still had a bike but I usually quickly for get that. The only thing I ever wanted as a young person that I never had was a late 50s vette.

I admit to wearing make-up. Actually, I'll admit to enjoying wearing make-up. For me, it's been part of learning about myself as a woman and finding a style and look that reflects my personality.    Sometimes, it will just be a bit of mascara and a touch of lipstick. But, most often I wear foundation with setting powder, gel eyeliner, mascara, a little blush on my cheek line and lipstick. I also use an eyebrow pencil to darken my brows a bit.  Infrequently, I will add some eye shadow.   Most of my make-up is from Mary Kay although my lipsticks or from various manufacturers and eyeliners are mostly Maybelline. My wife purchases most of her make-up from Mary Kay and so we order together from our local representative. Of course, I don't have much brand experience but I'm happy with the Mary Kay products and find myself transitioning almost entirely to their line of make-up.

I did early on, out of necessity.  Regardless of how close you shave, beard shadow shows through.  I just used a bit of foundation, setting powder and blush.    I didn't use much eye makeup.  I started out with a bit of eye liner, but I thought it gave me a "trying too hard" look.  So I mostly didn't use any.   With covid and masking, I stopped using makeup altogether.  Why bother when no one can see your face and the mask smears the makeup anyway?   When restrictions were lifted, I didn't go back to wearing makeup.  My face feminized quite nicely over the first few years of HRT.  I'll never be pretty, but I look more female than male.  (Or I like to tell myself that anyway.)  With several years of electrolysis, and with what facial hair remains turning white, I don't have much beard shadow, so there is nothing to cover up.

Do you use make-up? If so, why and what  types?

Pride is primarily about yourself, even when it is not you who did something that you are proud about. You can also be proud of something someone else did, who you associate with, such as your children or your favorite football team. People can feel proud of their culture, their family name, or their appearance, none of which require them to actively contribute to the praiseworthy thing1. However, the opinions of others are of crucial importance, as best demonstrated when you purposefully do something that other people praise. Pride is a social emotion, and to feel proud, you need other people’s (real or imagined) confirmation that you have a reason to feel that way. Because of this, other people can also ‘be in your head’ and prevent you from feeling pride. Namely, what is praiseworthy is subjective. Things that may be considered good in a certain (cultural) group may not be praiseworthy in another (e.g., if you grew up in a family that greatly values academics, your athletic abilities may not evoke much praise). Moreover, what is praiseworthy is relative (e.g., if you are a good runner in an athletically average school, you may regularly feel proud about your times; but if you move to a school with highly competent athletes, these same times may seem unremarkable to you). Thus, the more exclusive your quality is in your surroundings, the prouder you feel. Pride has recognizable features. Although its static facial expression (typically a smile or laugh) does not clearly distinguish it from other positive emotions, it typically results in a bodily posture, gestures, and behavior that are clearly recognizable: lifting your chin, looking people in the eye, walking confidently, or in extreme cases, raising arms above your head. In a way, you try to make yourself larger and more noticeable, as if to say: ‘look at me!’ You may also exhibit more perseverance in your activities2. People generally find it very pleasant to experience pride, as it elevates our feeling of social self-worth and status3. At the same time, many social groups, religions, and cultures (especially those that are highly collectivistic, such as the East Asian or African culture) believe that pride needs to be checked. Unchecked pride leads to arrogance and misplaced feelings of superiority (‘letting something get to your head’, ‘hubris comes before the fall’), and social groups typically do not tolerate members feeling like they are superior or deserve special treatment.
