Congratulations! May your recovery be swift and painless.

My morning's been pretty good. Running on six hours of sleep. I was out with friends last night. So worth it. Just what I needed. I'm still a ball of anxiety from being off my precious, precious HRT, but being silly with friends helped me not think about it for a while and I basically collapsed into bed when I got home.

Miscommunication with my personal trainer. We've got it straightened out for next week. It's fine. Everything is fine. That's been my mantra for the last few days. Just trying to cope.

I did have a complete stranger compliment my hat on my way out of the gym. She said that not only was it wonderful, but that I wore it well. Darn right I do. That silly bit of felt is the best hat I've ever owned. (It's orange and has fox ears on it. I adore that hat.)

It's going to be a good day today. I'm going to shower. Start the laundry and have a nap. After that, we'll see.

Hugs!

That is something women do.  We went to dinner the other afternoon and when my wife returned from the restroom, a woman passing our table commented on her shoes.   The adage that women dress for each other is true in some ways!

Unless you have some odd issue (which I cannot imagine) there is no need for physical therapy.

Was excited to see my longtime friends Jessica and Racheal see me today.Had to show them the results and were amazed It looked like theirs too. They are genetic females and have supported me through my transition.Looks like I am coming home tomorrow, passed the urination test.Jessica and Racheal did get me a card and I loved what was written in it:

Debra,we know that you are completely happy now and see you as one of us.Watched you struggle in pain in the past when we knew you as "Adrian" and we cared about you a lot. When you came out,we told you we are still friends no matter what happens in life. You have found your true self, you are one of the girls just like us now.We both don't miss "Adrian" at all,all we want to see is you happy as Debra now.You made it through even from our support,we never let you down and have shown it.All we want to see you is be happy with a better life, this has happened and a much better friendship has happened.

Good morning! I’m not really awake yet but it’s Friday so errands day.

I have a little good news. I have been using a special shampoo now for months and I just haven’t seen the back of my head for a long time but today I noticed that it’s actually helping my hair grow back in where it was thinning out! It’s almost completely filled in. I’m guessing that it’s also because of the hair oil that has the same ingredients too but it’s encouraging. It’s also growing fast. At this rate I’ll have another 3 inches in a couple of months.

@JustineM it’s called art naturals argan shampoo and conditioner. Comes in a two bottle set on amazon. I’m also using argan hair oil of morocco from Walmart. Keeps the tangles out and it helps dryness. It’s not really a miracle against bad hair days because I rarely have time to do my hair before work but it’s doing a good job otherwise.

Thanks for sharing that. I'm way too thin on top. Maybe it'll help.

Wish hair was migratory. If only I could get the thick body hair to migrate north to the top of my head

I'm ever-so-slowly beginning to see results on top of my head (thanks to Minoxidil, Finasteride this past year and now added Estradiol when I recently started low-dose HRT).  I'm most worried about my receding hairline in front -- most sources I've read indicate that seldom grows back.  Anyone with advice/tips/news about that?

It is! Unfortunately it only migrates from your head to your back and ears.

As for hair restoration... my Alopecia broke a dermatologist's clinic. We tried literally everything. They eventually fired me because they felt bad about taking my money. I've had steroid injections in my scalp, dozens of salves and ointments. We eventually tried the laser. None of them worked.

Well, that's not true, my hair responded to twice a week steroid injections to the scalp, but the hair fell out again after treatment ceased. Obviously you can't do that full time, so it's wigs for me.

If your hair doesn't recover, I'd suggest either adopting a hair-style that minimizes or covers the thin bit. Basically a girl comb-over. Your other choices boil down to getting implants or wearing a wig. You might be able to get a partial that covers up the thin areas. I'm like a naked mole rat, so I haven't looked into partial anything.

Best of luck! I miss my hair too.

Just back from morning errands. It's warm... ish, so I got to wear my biker jacket. Took care of the drug store, weekly banking and had a trip to the bakery. I got enough bread for a week or two, a "monster cookie" for Susan and a piece of turtle cheesecake for me (yum!).

Laundry is almost done. I'm going to do the dishes in a minute. After that, folding laundry and then the rest of the day is mine until it's time to make dinner. Chicken Parmesan tonight.

I'm probably going to spend the rest of my time writing until Susan gets home. I think it's going to be a good day.

Hugs!

Hi all

cloudy, rained some this afternoon but unusually warm and humid.  Supposed to be in the seventies for the next several days.

replaced the harmonic balancer on my car today.  It wasn’t the easiest thing to replace I ever did but that was a matter of figuring out how to do things without the special equipment a garage would have.

test drive went well so it seems to be fixed.

So my wife surprised with some new bras today. A very pretty blue one and a green and white one. I got to say I love this woman. I also got her to tell me her thoughts on my transition finally. She is ok with the dressing and even with HRT. However she isn’t so open to the idea of the surgeries, not exactly surprised by that. At least I got her to be honest with me.

also I don’t know why this post is trying to quote you Tammy, sorry I can’t seem to get it off

Good evening all.

Been going crazy trying to get three workstations ready for Windows 7 end-of-life. Installing patches, upgrading hardware. Now have two of the three unbootable, but the third one works great. If I can just get the others going!

This is so unfun, but necessary because these computers will go "dark" (disconnect from the Internet) at end-of-life to continue as my graphic workstations.

So I will likely be scarce for a few more days.

Cheers, TA

It's alright Justine. The weirdness of computerized machines never ceases to amaze me. I believe they're haunted.

Over here muttering about "a new Jim Crow against a persecuted minority."

Rants are not a problem.  My favorite hobby! :)   What's out there is bad enough that I wonder why some people feel they need to embellish it.  Be alert.   Some of this will need to be fought in court if they try to implement it. If people are out to get me, paranoia is justified.  And this may not be the only document.   Abby
    • Ivy
Not in so many words, therefore it's not there at all.  Excuse my paranoia. And the states passing laws against us are nothing to worry about either. Having to change my gender back to male (like in Florida) is reasonable.  I should just accept it, I mean I was born with a dk.  So that "F" is lie, and a fraud.  My delusions need to be dealt with for my own good.   I'm just frustrated these days.  Just a bit of a rant.

You probably remember the Target PR fiasco.  I remember reading an account from a woman who shopped there.  She went into a stall and did her business, and someone came into the bathroom and began swinging stall doors open, and when she came to her stall, the woman peeked at her through the crack. "What are you doing?" "Checking for perverts." The writer was so stunned by the absurdity that she finished up ASAP and got out of there, while the other woman entered a stall and locked it, made sure it was locked, and locked it again.

      Nothing about eradicating TG folk.
    • Ivy
If 9 out of 10 parts are ok, that doesn't mean I need to accept the bad parts (that are aimed directly at me).  That seems suicidal.
    • Ivy
True, most of it has nothing to do directly with us.  It's the parts that do that are the problem.   I see the  few problematic statements as being a big problem.  Just because a lot of it may be okay, doesn't change that. Even supposing the rest of it might be good for the country, it doesn't help me if I'm being "eradicated".  I suppose I should be good with that, because it's for the "greater good".  If me being gone would please a number of people, then it's my civic duty to disappear, and vote to implement that.
    • Ivy
Yeah.  There are already laws against assault.  I don't think the overwhelming majority of trans women have any desire to harass cis women.  Speaking for myself, if I go into a women's washroom, it's because my eyeballs are already floating - not for kicks.  And I worry about getting clocked and assaulted by some guy being a "hero."
    • Abigail Genevieve
Only three, maybe four, sections even mention transgender.  Most is a conservative agenda I have no problem with.   In the sections that mention transgender, there are very few lines.  Those lines ARE problematic, in every case. Unequivocally.  I can't see some of them standing up in court.  In one case a recommended policy goes against a court decision, which strongly suggests the implementation of that policy would be stopped in court.    Anyone maintaining that this is written simply to support Trump, to support him becoming a dictator, to crush transgender people is feeding you a line.  Nor is it an attempt to erase transgender people.   People will have to decide if the overall goals are worth the few problematic statements.  Overall, I support it.  Of course, I have some reservations.
    • Abigail Genevieve
It is unfamiliar, therefore threatening.   For 90% or so of the population, gender id can be simply and quickly determined by a quick anatomical observation.  They have no understanding and cannot imagine what it would mean to have a body different from the id.  It is unimaginable.  Therefore, wrong.   So there is this strong headwind.   I haven't entered this discussion, but here is a script: A: I can't imagine what it must be to have TG. B: You're a man, right? A: Well, of course. "amused" B: Imagine you were required by law and custom to wear women's clothing all the time. A: It wouldn't happen. B: Okay, but for the sake of the argument... A: That would be disgusting.  I would be very uncomfortable. B: You have it.  That is what TG people go through all the time. 24-7-365. A: Really? B: And then they are told they are perverts for having those feelings.  The same you just described. A: I see. B: And someone comes along and tells you you need conversion therapy so you will be comfortable wearing women's clothing all the time. A: I think I would break his nose. B: You understand transgender folk better than you think.

I have found some people correlate TG = child predator ... just as some have correlated homosexual = child predator...    I am baffled by the TG = unsafe connection ... my wife tends to think this way, that this is all about sexual deviancy ... I try to ask how my preference for wearing frilly socks with embroidered flowers and a comfortable camisole under my lavender T-shirts is sexually deviant (or sexual anything) but I don't get very far...
    • EasyE
Best wishes to you as you take this step ... many blessings to you!

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.
