Survived my first trans group meeting. Surprise, my gender therapist is the group moderator. I started out feeling very uncomfortable but by the end of the hour I was relaxed and laughing with the group.

Hurray!

OMG I could not even imagine this.  How very sad to of been kept from a child all these years.  I would definitely insist on a paternity test.

I have yet to attend a group.  My therapist was trying to get one started but during a poor weather time of the year and everyone kept calling it to cancel due to the weather. Eventually he decided to bag it as it just was not getting off the ground.  The very frist meeting he had pizza and drinks and was ready but I was the only one who showed.  So I received a free 1.5 hour session with pizza!  LOL

Rain, really dumping down in buckets with lightning and thunder, this morning.

More computer nightmares as it seems in upgrading my little desktop drives, I've inadvertantly snapped off a SATA connector to the DVD drive. Poo. So I'll have to figure out a replacing drive. Not a mountain, but sometimes molehills can be difficult to overcome.

Plus my laptop still needs its drive upgraded to SSD. I'm thinking trying to do any of this in a lightning storm is not the best plan.

Coffee is a good thing on mornings like this.

How is everyone else doing this morning?

Good morning.  Slept late today to catch up,  and feeling better for it.

Beautiful that Heather accepted it, Debra Michelle!!  The two of you may have an important connection, regardless of the biology.

Hi,

I’ve had a couple of busy days .  Working on my bathroom remodel finished the tile floor yesterday mowed the lawn with my walk behind instead of the tractor.  (Tractor has two flat tires).  Between these I was working on my boat.  That’s back on hold I had to order fasteners to get appropriate size stainless steel .

beautiful day here, upper 70s. Rain tonight then good weather again.

I don’t get to group meetings every month but when I go, I find it helpful.  Joining in on conversations with like people and getting to hear about their experiences is very helpful.

it is a shame that your ex had a child and apparently didn’t tell either the father or the child about the other.  If you turn out to be the father, I hope you can develop a good relationship with her.

Good morning, or afternoon.  I finally was able to get a restful sleep. Feeling better.. Recently I noticed lots of employees are wearing face masks at work. I cut out some big lips to tape to the masks as a way of lightening up the atmosphere. Paranoia is beginning to set in. That's understandable with more cases of corona-virus are showing up in Nebraska. None at my facility yet, that we know of. Second floor does have a few patients experiencing flu like symptoms. Diarrhea mostly. My floor, so far, has been spared.

on them. I'm doing what I can. Washing my hands. Keeping surfaces cleaned with disinfectant. Making sure soiled laundry is washed.

Keeping an upbeat attitude.

When I got back to work Monday I found out that the lady that was experiencing low O2 stats had passed away over the weekend. I wonder if anyone had bothered to monitor her while I was gone. The CPAP company had sent in one of their techs last Thursday night  to fix her machine. The Director of Nursing reamed out one of my night nurses for not calling them sooner. There was no reason for this. My girl did had called the support number on the CPAP and when she was unsuccessful had left a nurses note for the day shift to make a follow up calling the morning. Turns out the support company had changed hands and we didn't have the new number.  I had her leave a note to continue monitoring the patients O2 levels and recommended leaving her connected to the O2 machine because her stats dropped rapidly when she wasn't on it.  It's frustrating some times.

I'm sorry to hear this Donnie.  Its frustrating when a simple fix (following up) was available.

Communication is often a seldom used tool in nursing. The results of the  lack there of can be deadly.

Kymmie.

While shopping at my local Winco, I run into other trans individuals all the time.  I had no idea we have so many in our community living so close yet I never see them at our local support groups. I guess many just want to blend in and/or really aren’t interested in or need of support. Who knows?

Seems like that other trans girl wasn't out to much. Just as I was typing that post. She moved to another part of the waiting room. Maybe she was afraid I was going to take her picture.

Still really don't know how to really approach another trans person. I am so naive.

Good morning all.

Just got my first cup.  Today would be my youngest granddaughter’s twelfth birthday.  She is greatly missed by all who knew her.  There was something special about her even before she got cancer.

As for running into other transgender individuals, I have seen some I have wondered if, but don’t actually  know.  I would never approach someone and ask them or presume that they were.  It’s just not what I would want someone to do to me so I wouldn’t do it to them.

Its green car season here.  Pine tree pollen.  This year is earlier and heavier than normal.  I am fortunate that I am not allergic to it but it still causes sinus problems.

well, time to feed the dog, she just reminded me.

OMG me either now that I think of it.

This would be good to know I guessing.

Though I have had zero opportunity to meet them as I have not seen them or I am still blind to it.

So my day yesterday was a complete makeup fail.  I posted about it in the Beauty forum so I will not rehash it here.   Cliff notes:  I Looked like Beatle Juice with awesome hair.

So far the morning is going very well except I forgot my security badge and office key like an hour away from work.  I was NOT pleased with myself.  I came in super early to access an operating room to do some inspections before they got busy with it.  Its a very hard room to access during normal hours.

Forgetting my badge seriously hurt this plan.  I was looking at sitting in my car for three hours now.  well I had to pee so I at least went into the hospital.

I was lucky to have the Maintenance manager sitting just inside the locked door to there department and he let me in.  Opened my office door as its across his and then went to get me a temp security badge from HR.

I like the whole 'men do things for you' thingy.  LOL

I hope you have a wonderful day or at least try!

Hi

Coffee was good this morning.  I needed it as I had a hard time getting to sleep last night.

It’s a beautiful day here in the Low Country.  Sunny and warm.  Cold front for the weekend then warming back up next week.  Definitely time to get spring chores going.

speaking of which, times a wasting.

Something else I noticed @Ladypcnj Since I use the Unread tab, I don't see threads I've read again until someone replies to it, or the author adds something.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning @Ladypcnj   Some posts get lost in the busy times here. It also maters how people navigate the site. Some only look at their notifications, or tap the All Activity tab which shows them thread they've commented on. (how I see it)... I on the other hand use the Unread tag under Activity. I don't think people ignore post as much as they get caught up reading threads they've already been active in.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Oh yeah, I forgot,    @awkward-yet-sweetwhen your husband finally breaks down and decides to replace the stoves I agree a single professional stove even out of a defunct restaurant might well be the way to go when cooking for all those kids and adults. Certainly better that the situation you describe.  Or maybe from a used restaurant supply where they have professionally cleaned and refurbished it.

Wow, yesterday was a very active day.     @Birdie I hope they figure out where that’s coming from and get you heeled quickly. That it’s nothing serious.  Maybe going to the day care with a purewick will finally convince them to change their attitude.   @MaeBe  especially if you believe you are about to loose your job anyway, what’s to keep you in Minnesota ?  This could be a wonderful thing for all of you Washington State can be wet but it’s really not as bad as it’s made out to be.  If you are west of the cascades it is relatively mild not like MN in the winter time.  And east of the cascades it’s rather desert like around Yakima.     New car shopping can be fun but it can be very stressful too.  We talked about it over lunch yesterday. Strange thing is she kept coming back to the old Ford.  My response was instead of two car payments there woul only be one although I would expect it to be a little higher, but not nearly what two would add up .  Plus I wouldn’t have to continue working as long with only one as when I get the other things paid off I know we can live without me working.  Unless of course, the congress decides to mess with social security.  Right now I have three vehicles I want to look at two are at one dealer and the third at another.  All three are GMs two are newer with lower mileage but are also lower end on the GM line.  The third which is the one that most interests me is a Cadillac.  Let’s see there is a song from way back about a Cadillac and a Hot Rod Lincoln comes to mind.  Anyway it is an XT-5. I get my room and comfort, she gets her nice appointments and the ford hopefully will hang on as a spare for those occasions when we need a second car for me to go to work and for her to do ??  The downside is it has just under 80,000 miles and is a 2020 so in that regard we are slipping backwards from a 2022 with 25000  but going from a sub-compact to a mid-size.  The other two are a compact and a Midsize but neither would provide the expected comfort and features of the Cadillac.  The biggest of which are the pedals that would adjust and the seat adjustments. (My wife is 4’ 10” and I am 5’8” since my spine has shrunk.  The Caddy also has the lane safety as well as front and rear collision warning.  The mileage will go down and the engine requires higher octane gas but that won’t be too much of a drag since we can go to Murphy USA where I work or to Costco which isn’t that far away. 10 miles.  And it’s better than the Ford!   I guess we will see how this plays out later.   Willow

Two things amaze me, One how fast short haired dogs dry. Two how did you keep from loosing your glasses? I'm glad you wear a life jacket while kayaking even on smooth waters such as ponds or lakes. I'm guessing you learned a few things about landing and exiting the kayak.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Aside from the X-Files, Gilmore Girls is easily my favorite TV show. I originally watched the original airing in the commuter lounge at my college starting in 2000 because I was embarrassed to watch it at home when I living as a man. Now that I am out and transitioned, I watch it openly and wear Gilmore Girls t-shirts at work on days that I wear a skirt. For Valentine’s Day, my wife bought me the DVD’s. Yesterday I had to stay at work late because of an IT problem (I am not IT so I just had to make sure the pump stations telemetry was functioning properly before I could leave, IT did the actual work) and so I watched it on Netflix. Lorelai Gilmore inspired me to change my name to Lorelei. Yes, I picked a more traditional spelling on the name. The mother daughter interaction between them is heartwarming and sometimes hilarious. Last week I just started rewatching it again. Ironically I relate most to Luke, very rare as I almost always relate to a female character. Anyone else here love the show?

Good morning everyone,   @Birdie continued prayers for you as they figure thing out. I'm glad you're being properly cared for.   @April Marie I love the pageantry of the Kentucky Derby the bright dresses, and fascinating hats worn by the ladies. As for the mint juleps... I'll pass, they're just to aromatic for me.  We'll be watching "The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports" as well.   @Adrianna Danielle & @awkward-yet-sweet it is amazing how a new stove seems to cook food better. Cooking for 36 people is a phenomenal task, and if you're doing it on anything less than a professional cook stove. You're preforming miracles, and I wish you the best.   My yard work is done for the day, because I don't have to wait until Saturday to do it. I'm getting use to this mostly retired situation. The windows and doors have been open since I first got up and the yard is full of bird songs. I have the best neighbors because they don't start their noisy yard work until very late morning or early afternoon.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I took an involuntary swim wearing my quick dry hiking pants and shirt. Lifejacket not shown but present on the rock I am sitting on. Watson is dry now but I am still soaked. I capsized my kayak 5 feet from the shore trying to land on an island. Water in the pond was surprisingly warm considering it is early may in upstate New York.
