I wish you a great day at work.  I’m sure everyone will be accepting and if they aren’t that’s their loss, not yours.

So far I have been having an extremely excellent day!  Not one mis-gender whatsoever and most folks are completely blown away by the change from last Friday as Shawn to today as Shawna.  Most all the maintenance guys I work near had a look on their faces like "Holy Crap she looks great!".  Ok they may of thought other less nice but positive descriptors but I won't speculate.  LOL

Most folks are just talking to me like I have been like this forever.  Some who I know more closely are making a big deal about it which makes me feel wonderful and accepted.

I have been getting so many compliments on how good I look and how much they love my hair and the makeup looks great.  (I am not so sure about the makeup part as I am only in my 3rd try.)  Everyone keeps saying I look so happy and confident.  I feel very happy and getting more and more confident by the hour.  I am smiling ear to ear today.

The hospital HR has already processed my new security badge and took new photos. So my first official photo ID as Shawna!

Just a great day for me and I want to thank all of you for supporting me and giving the confidence to take this step towards a full time Me.

Congratulations, Shawna!  I know you've had some trepidations, and it's good to see that your coming out has been going so well!  I'm happy for you, that you have such acceptance from your co-workers.

@ShawnaLeigh I knew after you posting your bathroom selfie that you’d have no issues at work unless you worked around some unusually immature transphobic individuals.  From you work description, that didn’t seem to be the case.  So you’re getting a lot more affirmation by presenting...it feels good I’m sure.  I am so happy for you!

@Donnie_1961 You look great with your natural hair.  I remember when I decided to stop wearing wigs—I was very self conscious but it was all for not.  You need not wonder for even a second.  Have fun tonight!

Shawna, great to hear that everything is going so well for you. I wouldn't think people who work at a hospital  would be  to judgemental.

@ShawnaLeigh congratulations! So happy everything went so well for you today.

@MetaLicious yeah the Sephora staff was great, complimented my nails. When she signed me up for the Sephora coupon emails I got to pick out a late birthday gift, I thought it was just the mascara but that sneaky lady slipped in a primer sample and this blush/lip combo as well.

@ShawnaLeigh, Congrats on your first day being yourself.  In all my years working as a CNA I've only had one patient that refused to allow me to take care of him. I respected his wishes. He later changed his tune. Sometimes people just need time. You have to allow them that.

Be safe. Be Smart.

Ok. So is the bed bath is totally out of the question, Sir?

Fantastic to hear. Shawna.

I get to go to the Denver VA to see an Endocrinologist. I plan on going pretty much as my true self. Looks like I will be coming back tomorrow too. Then again I can't sleep in Wednesday, I get to go to get my left pinky finger checked. I broke it last year. Lately I has started giving me pain, and different colors.

@Donnie_1961 you look smashing!   I love the look.  I hope your work day is going well.

@ShawnaLeigh Hopefully your day is over and you are taking in all the responses.  It seems most were nice and that is a good sign.  Don't get upset when that bad reaction finally comes.  You're strong!

Hugs, Jani

Good Morning from Vermont!

A mild day here at 35*F and believe me when I say we will take it!

We are coming in fast on Mud Season which for those who don't know that's almost Spring and into spring for a while as snow turned to rain and back again.  Its a terrible mess.

Unfortunately for me my company car is a small hatchback style car not the 4x4 GMC pickup I own. Which I own for a reason living in VT.

VT has many dirt roads and they suffer this time of year as things thaw and freeze. snow and rain for far to long.

Don't even think about keeping a vehicle washed.  LOL

(And no I am not driving my leased truck for work as I drive a ridiculous amount of miles per day.)

Here at work and my second day of being Shawna out in the world.  Travel mug going down slowly but its so good.  I feel amazing and confident which is something I have not felt for years.  The anxiety, fears and nervousness I once had has faded completely away.  Now I want to just go out there and see everyone, smile at being Me and do my job!

Have a wonderful day All!

Morning y'all. Had a good night. Except somebody used up all the coffee I had hid in the med room and didn't replace it. I had to wait til 4am before I could clock out and bolt across the street to the gas station to buy a huge cup of joey. Gosh it tasted good!!

Hope y'all have a wonderfest day.

Be safe. Be smart.

And keep the coffee coming.

Happy for your happiness with coming out.  Each step you take removes another weight off you and feels so good. Have a great day two Shawna.

Debra i wish I could go out for a day with “the girls”. At least my wife and I go out somewhere once in a while.  Either shopping or to dinner.

Up late this morning. I overslept. Got coffee, trying not to be nervous about my first appearance with the trans group.

Wishing everyone well, have a great day!

Watching several deer in my backyard and one of them is a buck.  Hanging out with all the ladies, and since that's not what male deer do, I can only assume he's trans.?

Another hardly any sleep day. I've gotta go into work tonight. Thank god for you, Coffee. What would we night owls do without you?

Hope you have a great day Shawna.  I remember the stress as well as the slow acceptance by others but mostly by myself.

Today we are forecast to have a warm sunny day.  I'm cleaning up after sugar season.  That is a long process of cleaning the evaporator and other equipment in the sugar house, then off to the woods to pull taps and flush the tubing.  Between that a plumber coming for some work in the house and a farmyard full of hungry goats with their kids i'' be a busy gal.  I'm getting a bit old but certainly am enjoying life now.

Hugs,

Charlize

I love maple syrup. I grew up in Upstate New York.  I remember when people from all over would converge on the little town of Green for the maple festival. Good memories.

Kymmie.

I bump into sisters all the time in Omaha, Nebraska. Most are anxious to introduce themselves to me.

I had one come up to me while I was powdering my nose in the Men's room  "I'm Trans too." She said

"That's nice." I replied.

It was drilled into me many times in my support group that this is never cool.  Exposing someone else as trans in public may put them in danger.  At the very least, it sends the message that they didn’t pass.  It’s fine to reveal yourself, as the woman in the Omaha men’s room almost did, except for the word “too”.

One member was expelled from the group over this.  She recognized another member of the group in a crowded public place, and said loudly, “Hi, girl”, even though that person was presenting as male at the time. The person felt endangered.

I see what you mean but like I said I was standing in the MEN'S room powdering my nose. How much more exposed could I be? If I didn't want to be exposed I probably would have used the Ladies Room.

As for "Passing". I've had to show quite a few security guards my ID to prove I have a right to be in the Men's room.

I never feel endangered.

But I understand that some people might feel that way.

It's hilarious when some dude walks in the men's room, sees me, and goes outside to check the door sign to make sure they didn't enter the ladies by mistake.

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.
