It may have changed now because now I have to find a way to pay for it my insurance company denied it.

Well pooh.

Sorry to hear that.

There's always Planned Parenthood - I gather they're not very expensive.

I thought about that but there are no planned parenthood clinics around me that do hrt. I left a message with my doctor to see how expensive it is to go with out insurance

I recall reading the story of one of the first trans women who after being denied an orchi just did it herself. Almost bled out before getting to the ER. I hope you won't consider that. I kinda look to you for leadership and smarts at this point. In other words, I need you (along with several kind others).

And thank you for the encouraging words. I'm probably going to chew my gender therapist's ears off next week in my appointment.

TA

I would never dreamt something like that.  I said it only in jest.
My constitution is not that high.  I passed out changing my dressing after my Bariactric surgery one day.

it wasn’t bleeding but I could see fairly far inside me.  Lights out. Lol

I'm happy to have coffee and my usual oatmeal and blueberry breakfast.  We have been staying on the farm except to send taxes out,  drop deposits at the bank, or drop off cases of maple syrup at distributers.  I'm grateful for the spring but miss spending time chatting with friends and neighbors.

Stay safe my friends.

Hugs,

I am glad to see another oatmeal eater.  I have oatmeal with raisins and maple syrup every morning.  Lately, since my surgery, I have added prunes.  Yes, they work!

And toast with marmalade, and tea.  I only have coffee (espresso) on Sundays.

I'm another oatmeal person. Usually with blueberries (frozen from jaunts to Maine) or lacking those, dried cranberries or even apples or pears thrown in. It's been a staple of my breakfast for more than twenty five years.

And of course, coffee.

Relatively few things when dipped in chocolate taste bad!

Oats are a good thing regardless. All that healthy stuff!

This "stay at home except for absolutely necessary travel" order is really putting a damper on my feminine self-expression.  Oh sure, I can express my feminine side here at home, but it just isn't the same as being out and about.

Still, I am committed to doing my part to stave off the spread of this virus, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that I'm just dying to go shopping for a new dress or a new pair of shoes.

I guess I'll just have to be patient and hope the all-clear comes sooner versus later (please).

Stay well and healthy everyone.

Hugs,

Patience is definitely called for.  I share your frustration.

However, if the stay-at-home orders do what they are supposed to ("flatten the curve"), it will last a longer time, not shorter.  The point is to reduce the peak of people who are sick all at the same time, by slowing transmission so that many people get sick later rather than soon.  That way, the hospitals can cope, at the cost of dragging the whole thing out for longer.

Not what you wanted to hear, I know.  And I am not looking forward to it.  But getting it over quickly means that more people will die.

I had to check out a recipe for those and it seems they are just like the soft cookies I buy, made in small batches and wonderful!

They're addictive.

But about as sweet as a graham cracker rather than sugary like a cookie.

If you really want a cookie, Walker's Shortbread is the way to fly.

I know that I’ve been absent for quite a while and things are not easy, not easy for any of us, but there’s a little bit of a silver lining. I’m finally on vacation, sure it’s not in a tropical island with little umbrella drinks and pool furniture but it’s a much needed break. I’m working from home so that’s a step in the right direction, and I can finally say that I have set up my T-shirt store online (or at least one of them). But those are all minor things compared to the blessing in disguise that this world crisis is: that on Tuesday, because of the social distancing, I was finally able to get an over the phone appointment on next Tuesday with a gender therapist. Believe me I’m not happy about this all going on but if it’s going to get me back on track with my transition then I’m glad that something good came out of it.

I know just what you mean!  It is not helping that I only just found out how comfortable I feel in a dress.  I had been wearing jeggings almost exclusively until my wife bought me a "starter package" of clothes through Amazon.  Now I feel like my wardrobe is woefully lacking in variety, and I really prefer shopping in the real world, especially for clothes.

Hang in there, Sally - our time will come!

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone has a good Saturday. I know 4am came way to early to get up and go to work, of course they are talking rain for most of the day so I’d imagine it be a fun day at work for me lol.

@Josie Beth Welcome back!  I hope your new business takes off.  I know it will be slow at first.  Hang in there.

Its sunny here this morning and that alone makes me feel good.  The overcast clouds and rain over the last number of days has been a real bummer.

Good evening everyone! Hope everyone is staying safe and well. I’m relaxing at home with the family, taking the opportunity to get some practice with painting my nails.
I’ve been considering opening the door some more to other friends and family because I’m getting sick and tired of feeling like I need to hide.  I just don’t want to add more stress on my wife with everything else that is going on.

I know what you mean I had planned on coming out to more people by this point but since the world is shut down it hasn’t happened yet.

I am already out to those who are close to me (a whopping total of four people), but I have a large number of family members and a few friends who I am not out to.  My wife has been encouraging me to make a Facebook account so people will stop asking her how I am.  I don't want to make a Facebook account that doesn't reflect who I really am.  If I do this, I am going to be coming out to everyone at once.  On the one hand, the idea makes me anxious, but on the other hand, I'm not really involved with these people, and it seems like an easy way to sort out who will stand with me...

Metalicious I think your wife is right especially if you are not that close to them. I’m out to just 2 people. I decided to wait to tell my parents till after I’m on hrt so I won’t have to listen to them say how I should not do it. I don’t have Facebook so I won’t have to worry about coming out there.

Well back to the daily grind yesterday. Looks like a lot of people haven't gotten the message yet. We still get quite a few people not social distancing at the store.

Had a good video appointment with my speech therapist on Fri. My speech is there just needs a few tweaks. Weather forecast in the upper 50s today. by the clouds doesn't look like it will happen.

Guys and gals stay health and safe.

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3

That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Congratulations! and Happy Trans Birthday @LittleSam! That is such a BIG milestone.  I can still remember walking out of my clinic with my first HRT presciption.  I was on Cloud-9.  Wishing you all the best in the start of your new Journey!

maebe thank you I try to be. I thank God for blessings, try to share them, beg forgiveness for my shortcomings n vow to try to do better...2 priests have said no, God doesn't condemn you just for being trans...but apparently evangelicals do   I shall vtry dear thank you
    • MaeBe
Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.

When I first started figuring things out, I got a lot more euphoria. Every time a friend would use he/they pronouns for me, I'd get this bubbly feeling, and seeing myself look masculine made me really happy. Dysphoric state felt more normal, so I guess I noticed the pain it caused me less.   Now, it's more just that my pronouns and such things feel natural, and dysphoria is a lot stronger -- I know what's natural, so experiencing the opposite is more jarring than everything. The problem is, most of my natural experiences are from friends, and I rarely get properly gendered by strangers, much less by my family. I've found myself unable to bind in months due to aches, colds,, and not wanting to risk damage.    It partially makes me want to go back to the beginning of my journey, because at least then I got full euphoria. I'm pretty sure it'll be like this until I medically transition, or at the very least get top surgery (you know all those trans dudes online with tiny chests? Not me, unfortunately). It's a bit depressing, but at least I know that, eventually, there's a way out of this.
    • RaineOnYourParade
Major mood, right here ^^^    I've listened to Lumineers to a long time (a major portion of it by osmosis via my mom), so that is almost painfully relatable
    • RaineOnYourParade
As for getting a button-up/formal pants suit, you can try to talk to her more -- Cis women in tuxes have worn tuxes in recent years, after all, (for example, Zendaya) so it can still be a relatively safe topic. For jumpsuits, I'd recommend going with a simple one with a blazer, if you can -- this'll make it look overall more masculine. There's a lot of good brands, but going for one without a lot of extra glitz on it will make it look less feminine under a blazer. I don't know many specific brands though since I usually just get my stuff from chain stores, sorry :<   When it comes to your hair, if you can't cut it, you can look up tutorials on fluffing it up instead. If you can pull it off, it can look a lot shorter and more androgynous instead!
