Good morning All. Coffees on.

It's gonna be a long day. My microwave is apparently broken. It's raining and the coffee isn't brewing nearly fast enough. I am not patient enough for my attitude today. I can't install a microwave above the range alone. I will have to hire someone to do it I suppose. I am used to being alone all the time. It's not easy on days like this though. :rain:

@Abi, Home Depot or Best Buy will install their appliances for you, though it might take a few days to get on their schedule.  Rainy days.... nice for relaxing with a good book or surfing nature photos online.  I really miss warm summer rain (and thunder), something we rarely have here.

Hi

some crank callers can be fun. They have a script To follow and the more you work them off their script the more frustrated they get.

I got my nose swabbed today. I’ll know The results tomorrow.

my good friend had her bottom surgery yesterday with no complications.  And my boat is all but ready for my family to come Friday.  Sweep and Mop the floor in the cabin. Everything else is done.

@Tori M Thanks for the tip. I got an install set up. I think it's funny that it cost almost as much as the microwave but, I guess it's better than hurting myself while trying to do it alone. I don't mind the rain. I prefer nice breeze and cool sunlight, though. I think it just makes me happier in general. I get stuck indoors on rainy days and do not enjoy that very much. I did get a lot of latch hooking done though so the day was not an entire wash. I will most likely post a picture when it's done. I have about eighty hours invested in this one.

Good morning everyone!  As I sit here sipping my java I was thinking about my comment to my wife when I got up that I have to remember this journey is mostly baby steps and to look back from time to time to see how far they've taken us. I was in a bit of a funk because we took a huge step last night when I wore women's PJs to bed with her for the first time but then when I got dressed in the morning for our walk it was such a let down.  She pointed out that we will get there soon and just look back at how far I/we've come in such a short time.  So that's my morning perspective today. Remember to look back over your shoulder every once in a while.

Hugs to all and enjoy your morning coffee.

Last night I was finally able to have conversation with my with wife that end in yelling. In the interest of not hiding anything I explained that I am in the actively looking for a gender therapist (fingers crossed i get called back today). and that I will hold off on changing name until after we buy our house sometime in the next 6-9 months. I don't want to cause any issues or confusion with loans or legal docs. She did make it clear that even after it's legally changed she will use my dead name.

Most of co-works are treating my like a curiosity as they find random reasons to stop in my office to talk. I can see their eyes, I know what they're looking at, my eyes are up here. And others have already started using she/her pronouns without prompting. Finally my life is making a turn for the good.

That's really good advice. Especially when you feel like your stuck and not moving forward.

Good morning

Coffee just finished brewing.

As I expected, my Covid test was negative.  But at least now I can proceed to my specialist appointment.  My wife and I wear masks, socially distance and avoid going places like the grocery store.  We avail ourselves of no contact pickup.

stay safe and healthy.

Met with the specialist. One concern alleviated, my cancer has not come back.  We are going to try a series of medications to find one that resolves my problem with the least amount of negative side effects.  That took a big weight off my shoulders or larynx to be more exact.  I’ll start the first medicine tomorrow and report Progress in two weeks.

Afternoon guys, gals, and whom ever is out there. My Saturday everything is going well. Have a video appointment soon with my Therapist then one with my new regular DR. This has got to be the 5 or 6 regular DR. I have had.

Some news, I talked to the parts manager at the dealership I applied for in Portland, OR. Sounds like this position is right up my ally. With the potential to move up. plus starting more than I am making now. All I need to do is let him know a yay or nay.

I need to get my back healed. It is only marginally better. Still get spasms, that can happen anytime. Just a wave of pain goes over my back. standing is OK, but bending, getting up, is pain full. Anyone have a spare back They are not using at the moment. LOL.

Tomorrow, I had to Ft. Collins to see about Hair prosthetic. My breasts are on special order, they are having the straps lengthened on the bras.

Everything is back to normal at home. No mention of me leaving at all. Looking after a motorcycle trip with the wife.

Goomornin! Well its morning to me and any other 2nd shift folks out there. ? Dear morning people, do you still have to sit and contemplate the universe for x amount of minutes after waking up before you can get moving for the day? Or do you just spring into action straight out of bed? If it is the former, how do u define what being a morning person is? Is it the mood u start with after regaining consciousness? I am in a fairly content mood this morning but having trouble finding motivation to leave my recliner to get productive... One more dose of caffeine then maybe...

While I don't consider myself a morning person, I swing out of bed as soon as I hear my wife start brushing her teeth. When I was depressed though... I'd sit on the edge of my bed for a couple of minutes. Nowadays, I only do that if I'm super tired or sick.

Hugs!

Willow, that is wonderful news! So happy to hear that.

QuoraQ, I am pretty good to go the moment my eyes open. Doesn't matter when I wake up or how much sleep I actually got. The body just wakes up ready to go. I also have developed an internal alarm clock that between, 5:30am and 6:15am, I wake up. Again, regardless of the amount of sleep I've had I just wake up.

The only time I don't is if I'm really sick, then I just sleep, as much as possible and am really groggy when waking up, usually taking a bit of time to get going.

Well, found out my pre-op COVID test is tomorrow afternoon. Already got my blood work results back, from yesterday morning, crazy. Most of it looks good, couple things were a little off, but nothing that will prevent the surgery from going forward next week. Apparently, they are going to stuff more gauze up my nose than a magician has scarves in their sleeve, which will need to be removed the next day. I imagine it will probably be uncomfortable, but I am strangely looking forward to my nose being involved in a magic trick. LOL.

Have a wonderful day/evening everyone! Hugs!

Kymmie have you tried any sort of back brace?  I’ve had back strain at different times and usually found that finding a brace that held things in place felt good.

The other thing that helps relax the muscles in your back is a “tens” unit. There are a lot of them in drug stores.  They sent electric pluses into you nerves which helps relax the spasms.

@abi   The fear of what my current wife might do to me, keeps me in a marriage that isn't healthy.  The fear is very debilitating.  Sometimes, even causes suicidal thoughts....

I'm very sorry that I did not see this comment before today. You are more than welcome to reach out to me if you ever need a shoulder. I can relate in many ways. I know it can be very hard to see your own worth in a bad marriage but you matter very much. Please don't give up on yourself. I feel terrible that I didn't see this message sooner. I hope things get better.  ~Abi~

Willow, I have thought of getting a back brace.

Well had good appointments with my Dr. and Therapist. My Dr. is putting me on steroids to help with the inflammation. My therapist gave me some things to think about. I am giving myself until Monday to decide on the position in Portland. Even though I have came out to the HR person with no problems. I am not sure that she passed on the information to the parts manager.

Good morning

I just got up.  I’m expecting my daughter and her family any minute now.

@KymmieL I am very sure you won’t have any acceptance issues in Portland, any more than Shawna Leigh did.  I’m sure you know that they are a very accepting liberal place to live.  I wouldn’t let the thought of whether the HR manager told the Parts manager influence your decision.  If it’s what you want go for it.  I know changing jobs and moving that far is stressful. Add to that coming out to the new employer and your family concerns can all be overwhelming.  But if it’s what you want,...

Well they fam will be pulling up any minute now.  Have a great day, I know I will.

Kymmie: Willow's right. Tens units have kept me in the game for many years. For chronic spasms they work great. They're a good "quick fix". I also take CBD oil every day to reduce spasms and inflammation. It's really helped me keep off of cycles of steroids and pain killers.  I've has two fusions and still have a major nerve that gets compressed so I have to constantly keep up with preventative measures to keep me out of major flair ups of pain. Gentle yoga is also great as long as you're not in a spasmed state.  Good orthotics for your shoes might help too. Everything starts with our foundation. And because it's my career: find a good deep tissue massage therapist and make her/him a part of your life.   Good luck with the decision for the new job!

Post 10 “My Feminine Presentation”   I have no illusions about fooling people.  It’s a pretty safe bet that most of the people I meet or interact with recognize I was not born female.  Going “stealth” just isn’t in the cards for me.  Despite this, I am usually recognized and addressed as a woman.       As an example, I recall a past shopping trip to a department store.  After finding a nice purse, I took it the checkout counter.  The store associate took my credit card, rang up my purchase, and when she handed my purchase and credit card back to me, she said: “thank you Miss Stone,” despite the fact that my credit card had my male name on it.  Clearly, she recognized I was presenting as a woman, but when I thought about it, I realized I had made it easy for her to choose the correct gender response.  The way I was dressed, the way my makeup and nails were done, ensured there was no ambiguity regarding my gender.     In fact, I can’t remember the last time somebody mis-gendered me while presenting in my feminine persona.  But that’s because putting such effort into my feminine appearance, I don’t give people much of a chance to be confused.  Occasionally, one of my trans friends will accuse me of being overdressed, and in some situations, they might be right, but in my defense, I feel the need to present in a way that supports the feminine woman inside of me.  I’m a “girly-girl” by nature, and it leads me to be overtly feminine when it comes to the fashions I choose, and why I spend so much on the details of my appearance.  I simply want my appearance to match the way I feel.   Because my girl time is limited, I always want to make the most of it. This is another key factor driving my upscale feminine presentation.  I honestly believe life is too short to wear pants and comfortable shoes.  Things might be different for me if I was living fulltime as a woman instead of only part-time.  I’m sure, for practicality’s sake, I would dress casually more often, but I know I’d still retain my penchant for a more upscale or girly-girl appearance.   Another one of my friends asked me one time if I worried that my appearance caused me to stand out.  She seemed to think it was important for me to blend in and not bring attention to myself.  I may not be typical in this regard, but I don’t actually want to blend in.  I’m proud of the effort I put into my appearance, and I like being noticed for it.  As I stated earlier, I will never be able to achieve true stealth, so for me, it seems wasted effort to try blending in.   I am comfortable with my feminine appearance, and occasional criticisms don’t bother me, but this wasn’t always the case.  For a long time, I thought there was something wrong with me.  Within the transgender community I kept hearing that it is more important to be comfortable and practical.  Dress casually and blend in seemed the general consensus.  Because my views were quite the opposite, I wondered if perhaps I wasn’t trans at all.  Maybe my perceptions regarding feminine appearance came from a completely different place.    The assumption I made was that instead of a “girly” feminine side driving my appearance motivations, maybe the catalyst was more akin to a fetish.  It was a sobering thought, but maybe I was in actuality, a prototypical transvestite?  For the longest time I couldn’t shake this concern, and it caused me to question everything I thought I knew about myself.  But the questioning phase, while difficult, turned out to actually be beneficial.   The first thing I questioned was why we want to blend in when we are trans, and the answer is, we have a legitimate reason for not wanting to stand out.  The second thing I questioned was whether cis women had the same concern about the need to blend in.  I think the answer is no.  In fact, there always seems to be levels of competition among women regarding their appearance, so in many instances they actually seek to stand out from their peers.    The desire to put so much effort into my appearance, while not typical for everyone, seems to be a fairly common female behavior.  Since the female half of my personality exhibits this behavior as well, I cling to the idea that just because I like to stand out doesn’t mean my motivations are fetish driven.  This was a happy epiphany for me, and it turns out the fetish concern and the questioning phase that followed, brought me to a clearer understanding of who I am.  Possessing a better understanding of why I am the way I am makes me comfortable expressing a feminine appearance that leans in a more girly-girl direction.   Ultimately, the way we choose to portray our gender identity is a personal choice.  Each of us has to be comfortable with that choice.  I’m a part-time woman, so consequently, things like GRS, HRT, or feminizing surgery aren’t the right choices for me.  Therefore, I rely on clothing, makeup, and other typically feminine fashion details to ensure I’m recognized as a woman.  I acknowledge that my choice may not be typical but it has proven to be extremely effective.   Hugs,   Sally

https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/mississippi-passes-bill-allowing?r=k5hac&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web   This part could be pretty bad-   "Lastly, it offers a “private right of action” that appears to be targeted at transgender people, allowing cisgender people to sue to prevent transgender people from using bathrooms aligned with their gender identity…"   I can see a potential for bathroom "vigilantes" to use this.  Just paying legal fees to defend yourself can ruin you, regardless of the outcome of the case.

It's all well and good, but the facts on the street will always be different than what is written on paper. It takes a very long time for an EEOC or OSHA complaint to get attention. For most people, the length of time between filing a complaint and something actually getting done means just finding a different job.

As a transgender male often I feel as if I'm not viewed as man enough especially around other biological males. I often also feel as if I'm not enough in general not good enough to have the things that I have because I ruin everything and I feel like a phony when trying to pass. I look in the mirror and my outside appearance doesn't match the way I want to look and appear and my mom prevents me from reaching my maximum male potential and around my mom I'm always mis-genderd and she tells me that Im not a man and never will be one which plays into me feeling not man enough because I feel like I never will me the man I know I am. I don't know what to do with these feelings and thoughts.

I was really lucky when I gave up smoking. I just decided one morning that I just didn't want to smoke anymore. That was back in 1996. The silly thing was, I still had a couple of packets left I and used them up! After that I only 'borrowed' less than a handful in the months after that and I haven't missed them since.

Our Maltese daughter-in-law makes a very mean Bolognese sauce, which we combine with spiral pasta. We pulled some leftovers out of the freezer for tonight's meal.   Tomorrow night will be chicken Kiev, with potato segments baked in the same dish, accompanied with boiled peas and broccolini.

I suspect some of these people are not primarily LGBTQ+ but primarily get their kicks by publicly shocking other people.  They take advantage of the parade and think they can get away with it year after year, and sometimes do.  Not just the parade, but sometimes other events that provide cover for them to act this way. They do a great deal of damage to perceptions by the public and by the legislators against us.
