@ElizabethStar My wife and I talked about leggings before, I am not a huge fan of them, mostly due to confidence. She did give an idea of using spanx though for keeping things in place possibly, and probably a bit more comfortable than shorts with the leggings.

So did an online board game afternoon with some friends from this support group I am a part of, and I feel like it went really well. Going to have to plan more of them in the future. Quite happy with the platform I found, since it has a lot of games and a variety of different types as well. Actually I am planning on running an event this Tuesday as a distraction from the other things that will be going on (and that is all I am going to say about it).

I also tried to reconnect with someone that we were becoming friends I thought at least pre-COVID, but not sure what the status is now. The conversation seemed kind of forced, which is kind of sad. I miss having that organic growth of my social network that I was doing prior to COVID.

@QuestioningAmberi know how you feel.  I had made a friend here.  We hit it off right away, we’re just about at the same place in our transition.  She was having more issues with her wife than I.  She stopped posting here but every once in a while she will message me.  Last time we talked she was still struggling with family but was seeing a therapist.

My wife and I have some days that are difficult but we are generally getting better every day now.

I had a good day.  Went to church (outdoors).  The minister talked about Paul’s letter to the Corinthians in which he talked about sewing seeds and watering the seeds( people). During his sermon it rained for a couple minutes. How impossibly appropriate.

I had a great day today, so to do something for with my wife I took her out to dinner.  We rarely do that with Covid.  Dinner was good.  At the end the waiter asked if we wanted separate checks.  That just topped it off.  He got tipped a little more than normal and he doesn’t even know why.

Hugs

Thanks @Emily michelle. Unfortunately things are not that good, at home, yet to try that.

@QuestioningAmberThat's what they are spandex. For the life of me I couldn't remember what the shorts are I mentioned. They work OK but they have seams that show through. Maybe shapeware would be the answer. Now that I know what I'm talking about. I could get away with buying that.

hi,  I need some help.  Can anyone explain being Pan sexual?  I know little about it but I have a granddaughter who is telling her mom she is pan sexual. Mom doesn’t understand how she could know that at 13.  Well, we have signs that if we or our parents picked up on them could have know we were tg at a much earlier age.

but what is being Pan sexual anyway?  Is it a part of the entire LGBTQI + spectrum or is it something unrelated?  Anyone, please help me so I can help them understand each other.

Pansexuality is sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others.

This is the wikipedia definition. There is a forum called AVEN that represents many people from the entire lgbtq spectrum. They have many resources if you want to check them out. I hope it's ok to share that. I am strictly trying to help connect you to information.

Not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity. It is part of the LGBTQ+ spectrum.

Hi everyone! Just sitting in my car waiting for my blood draw. My endocrinologist wanted me to fast this time so I’m starving right now lol.

Elizabeth my wife did give me an odd look when I explained what I bought the pads for. Then she called me crazy and that was the end of the conversation.

I made a keto dish. One of my favorites. It's just chicken breasts with cream cheese, regular shredded cheese, bacon bits and jalapenos. Baked and delicious. So filling and very good for my diet.

Yum!

Leggings have been coming up a lot lately?.

Leggings are one of the things I've been envying about women's wardrobes for a good while now. Still need to get myself some. Several years ago, I had a pair of men's Under Armour ones to wear inside jeans to stay warm on winter hikes. Loved them, but I really let myself go shortly after, so it'll still be awhile before I can fit into to them again. :(

Coffee today is my favorite kind: Already made by someone else. :)

As I mentioned in a different post, got my ears pierced last evening! Love them, but the flip side is that my daily care regimens just seem to keep growing and growing...Guess I may have to get used to that.

Finally having my first session (video call) with a gender therapist today! In just an hour and a half from now. Not sure what to expect, but I've been looking forward to this for what seems like quite awhile now.

I wear them under a skirt with my boots in cold weather for warmth.  They help when I don't want pants (which is most of the time)  I also have some fleece-lined ones which do the job pretty well.

Leggings have been my absolute "go-to" for most of the athletic activities or weekend wear when I feel lazy to change between being at home or spending time outside. I think they are most versatile between form and function ?

Same here :) Which is unfortunate since I'm still always in guy mode in public. (I guess there are kilts, but around here, that would probably stand out just as much as leggings.)

There's a live streamer from youtube/twitch, using an ultra-cutesy CG avatar, that had an adorable mini-rant on pants that I sooo agree with. I can't show it here, due to copious profanity, but I'll transcribe and edit:

Quote

(Part One)

Ok, pants rant. Pants are [bleep] stupid. Why would you wear pants when you can wear either a skirt or a dress? And have your legs not feel constricted by stupid [bleep] fabric that's all rubbing all up against you an' [bleep]. Or, making it, like, less comfy to just be bundled up in blankets. Like, [bleep] that. I'm sorry, [commenter's name], I don't like wearing jeans. I like wearing comfy, soft stuff. Or ["justice"?], because I like to let my body breathe. You know? Ain't need no [bleep] pants, making me all warm and uncomfortable, gotta adjust them all the time an' stuff.

Nah! Wear dresses! Wear skirts! Wear kilts! Anything but pants.

[Another commenter's name], how dare you give pants a good [can't quite make out]. How [bleep] dare you!

(Part Two, later in the video)

[Commenter's name] says, "What have pants ever done to you?"

They constrained me! They deprived me of freedom! Down with pants! Up with...well...down with pants, on with...justice...[cracks up laughing] Whoaho, that was almost bad! Ah ha ha ha!

Lol!

Pants are definitely my least favorite thing to wear on the lower half, but I don't blame the pants.

I have had a lot of those same visceral feelings, but I blame the casting director for putting me in the wrong role.

(good luck with the therapist Heather)

I'm totally the opposite. I love jeans. The last thing I want to do is go walking on a nature trail wearing a dress or a skirt. I don't do "social" stuff. I get out in the woods and just sit a while, listening. If I go to the store, I am not concerned with being dressed any kind of certain way. Give me a mountain and some snow gear. If you see me at all, you'll be seeing a happy lady.

I'm with you @Abi, I usually prefer a pair of jeans and a cute T or shirt, or a sweater, now that the weather for it has arrived. You can occasionally find me in a pair of pants or leggings, in the right situation, but it's rare. I don't have any dresses yet, one cami-midi dress on the way; but I probably will wear one when the mood strikes.

Link to comment

@SaraAW I don't mean to sound like there is something wrong with leggings or dresses. They just don't fit my lifestyle at all really. My time is not spent in groups. I do not date so there's no nights out on the town or anyone to impress necessarily. I just go where I am happy. That tends to be out in some forest or at the very least, a place I will not see many if any people. I've always been that way though.

Yeah, I get this.  Personally, I will wear a skirt on a trail if it's not difficult or overgrown. But if I know it could get complicated, jeans are more practical.  And also for some forms of work.  I heat with wood, and I'm not big on using a chainsaw in a skirt.

I prefer at least mid calf length.  For one thing it feels more age appropriate.  And I enjoy the way they flow.  My twenty-something daughter tried to get me into a short one once - sorry, I need to act my age.  I might feel like a teenager at times, but those days are long gone.

Link to comment

@JandiThere is no way I'm using a chainsaw ever again. I'd be too scared of breaking a nail and it's not too likely to be a need any time soon. I think I would prefer dresses that are ankle length. I am way to conservative to show my legs off. I do occasionally wonder what kind of makeover other ladies would give me. My only experience with that is my thirteen year old daughter. She would do camo and combat boots lol. That's not my idea of a makeover.  Maybe one of these days I will have someone nearby that can help me choose some things but, I'm really not in any rush for that.

I can rock a pair of skinny jeans, but I much prefer skirts.  They are comfy and I like the way they swish.  (I definitely prefer swishy skirts to pencil skirts.)  But in winter, jeans are usually more practical.

Except, considering that I am still recovering from my surgery, and any kind of pants aggravate the whole area.  I am still trying to avoid pants even though it's starting to get cold.  I agree that chainsawing is definitely a pants-only task.  It is also a don't-try-this-while-recovering-from-surgery task, as I found last week.  It will take a couple more days before the swelling is back to normal.

Note to self DO NOT use a chainsaw while wearing a skirt.

I could definitely see myself on a nature hike in a skirt, with leggings.

Jandi, I think this scares my wife most of all. She thinks I'm going to go all flamboyant drag queen on her. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the Drag Scene, it's just not where I'm at. I'm going to be a happy 64 year old woman. I wore leggings and an oversized hoodie for our Halloween Block Party and all day Sunday. No one even mentioned my hot pink shoestrings.

Good morning, everyone!!   A busy day ahead for me - need to cut the grass and then pick up the clippings. The grass grows so quickly this time of year. I cut almost 7 acres so that will take up most of my day. At least I can get some sun on my legs and arms!!   Time for another cup of coffee as I catch up here.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

I started shaving my legs years ago - I started getting an occasional mild contact rash on my shins. That became my excuse to shave them for both me and my wife. Over time, the rash didn't expand...but my shaving did. Full legs....groin......chest......and finally my arms. Keeping the rash at bay was my excuse until I came out to my wife. Now I typically do a full shave on Sunday mornings. The hair is lighter but I just feel better with it gone - it helps with the dysphoria and dysmorphia. I will also typically do a chest touch-up mid week since I notice the growth more there.   I wish someone would invent a pill that would stop hair growth everywhere except on your head.

Good morning.   im not sure where the time went.  I had a decent nights sleep,  didn’t  tell Alexa to let me sleep another 5 minutes,  I didn’t do anything extra but it’s almost time to leave and I just got here.  Definitely only a one cup morning.    I have the overhead console out of the Ford. It needed some repairs with toothpicks and glue.  Been sitting all night t for the glue to harden. I’m always to impatient with glue but not this time.  I want it to hold. Ok the next owner won’t be able to change the lightbulbs however in my defense, the are led so they will likely still work when the car goes to the salvage yard.   gotta go. Not as much on my plate at work today but it’s always busy.   Willow

Yes, my programmer friends and I think that antivirus software is a virus.  It's constantly searching your system and slowing it down.  If you install your own OS and software on your machine, and you make backups of your personal files, then you can recover from viruses in an hour or two.  My computer is 10+ years old and is working as good as the first day I had it.   As long as my computer is doing what I want it to do, I don't care if someone is spying on my system.

If you get a ticket, always say not guilty and go to court. Much of the time, the officer will not show up, and often the district attorney or the judge will not want to take the time. They ticket harvest because most people just agree to the fine and send them a check by mail.   If you are not a commercial driver, Most states also have a ticket forgiveness program. You take a little easy Driver's Ed Course, and it doesn't go on your record or increase your insurance prices. Explore your options!

Shaving my legs (very early on) was the first BIG STEP in my self-affirmation.  It also felt Real and Natural ... Finally (after all my years with fairly hairy legs). My wife was shocked but I think she thought it was 'OK' as long as didn't go any farther ... well that wasn't going to happen.  It was actually Step 1 of many to follow.  I did feel the need to hide it from others but eventually didn't care.  And, men shaving their legs is much more common these days. Home IPL (laser) made the hair removal permanent over the course of a year or so.  Whatever was leftover has been reduced to peach-fuzz by HRT. I don't deny or reject all my years living in the realm of cis-males ... it was part of my Journey to get to where I am today.  But since committing to HRT and living in an environment and community that supports my transition, I find it difficult to go back into Boy-mode.  The times that I do have to do that ... I can feel the dysphoria rising up again.  No going back ... at this point.

Congratulations @EasyE on your continued progress! I think it was about 6 - 8 weeks for me that I truly started to notice (and feel!) the changes.  They were not enormous (no pun intended) but I could notice my breasts were starting to plump up and my hips also.    fyi - I talked to my Provider a couple of days ago and based on recent labs agreed that I could start progesterone.  I did a LOT of research and after expressing any concerns with my Provider we both felt confident in starting.  I have been almost a full year of estradiol and I think my breast and other body changes have started to settle down.  Hoping the 'P' will give them another jump start. Thank you for sharing your progress.  I think you're going to be Happy with with the next couple of months brings

I have this one particular antivirus with the VPN, I thought I paid for everything to be activated, but it turns out to be I have basic protection and they want more money from me to turn it on. I wished the store salesperson told me this soon, I would have brought something else that has everything in it, not half protection missing lol

Hi @Mealaini - nice to meet you and Welcome! You have an important story and experience to share so I am happy you are open and willing to do that.  Also, I want you to know that this Forum was a very important part of my own Self-Acceptance and helped me navigate both my Progress and the Coming Out process to my wife, kids, and other family/friends.   It's not an easy Journey - sometimes it can seem slow and painful - but for most of us here, it's one that is essential to our Well Being.  I hope you have a similar experience as myself as you connect with others on this Forum and gain the benefit our each individual Experience and our Shared Humanity. Deep breaths ... One step at a time

It seems to me that antivirus software often acts like a virus.  McAfee is really tough to get rid of.  I got a laptop a few years ago that had it pre-installed.  Didn't want it, and the process to cut out every last piece of it took a long time.    As for VPNs, check out Ultrasurf: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultrasurf   It may not be the best, but it is free and seems to bypass many government restrictions.  Its one of the few tools in GF's toolbox that I actually understand how to use.  As in...click the button!

Divorce sux.  My husband has an ex-wife somewhere...far, far away.  I guess she turned into somebody completely different right after the marriage, and she divorced him after a couple of years.    My partner (his "Wife #1) married him pretty soon after that divorce, and I guess he kind of missed her back then, but that fades with time.  I wonder... is it harder to stay in contact after divorce, or harder to cut off all contact completely?    I was very clear with my GF when we got together years ago.... to choose me is to keep me forever, as a breakup (and heartbreak) would probably be fatal.  I told my husband and other partners the same thing.  Once I've made my nest, don't push me out of it.  I will curl up in a corner and make myself very heavy and hard to grab   Even GF has never said she wanted to get rid of me, although she gets frustrated with me sometimes.  I'm pretty sure I'm safe here.

Odd that this topic showed up today. With the warmer weather approaching, I decided to do something about my legs. When I was in my twenties, my legs were quite hairy, but have become less hirsute as I age. I decided to mow the hair with my manscaping device to make eventual shaving less messy. This made me realize that due to a lack of limberness and practice, shaving might be a major undertaking, so today I applied depilatory from mid-thighs to my ankles (no hair on feet, fortunately). The odor wasn't as unpleasant as I expected (didn't use a common store brand*), and the results were gratifying. I'll try it on my chest next.   *I'm not sure whether mentioning product names is allowed – think of a musical by Lerner and Loewe.
