I had ordered some sandals from Amazon.  They were supposed to come yesterday by 22:00.  Around then, I looked at the tracking thing and watched the truck headed toward the big city.  No sandals for me, sigh.

But today the amazon guy came in his big van.  Unfortunately he put the rear end of the van in the rather deep ditch next to my driveway (courtesy of the NC DOT). Resourceful fellow.  I'd seen him before with deliveries.  English is obviously not his first language, but we could communicate.

He borrowed a bunch of firewood to put under the rear drive wheel.  And the floor jack I had on the porch.  (my neighbors are glad I finally put the freezer inside, but TBH, that was mostly because someone was ripping me off! )

Eventually, between us (him mostly) got the thing out of the ditch, and package delivered.  I said "You got it out."  He said "We got it out."  Fist bumped me.  (Mixed feelings - that's a kinda guy thing)

I have to admit that since transitioning I kinda enjoy letting the guys figure these things out.  I can just hang out, keep my mouth shut, and be entertained.

All this was over a 15 buck pair of sandals.  But at least they fit.

Hi, another day another couple bucks  I get a temporary pay increase starting Saturday.  Temporarily because it starts now but ends in September.  Still it’s about 25% increase for 4 months.  Now if I could get my schedule back to 5 days a week. Yeah that a joke.  One quit today and another really needs to be fired.  We were short one, then the manager quit, that made two, now this guy so three.  New manager doesn’t start for a couple weeks   We still would be down 2 and at least one more is saying he is going to leave if he doesn’t get the schedule he is supposed to have.

kind of a revolving door right now.

I worked until 8pm and have to be back at 7 am. Anybody need a “part-time job?

I would love to Willow. What's the cost of the bus to the USA from Australia?

Not that one.

Well, I got the call from Rainbow Door - was actually great opening up to someone. Will be sending me some info to guide me through what is a confusing process for me. Can't express what a relief it was talking it out. They also added that they provide peer support via phone for the future. I am now seeing myself as probably transgender.

Good morning, everyone! 4:30 wake-up for me again, today. I just can't seem to make myself sleep past that point. So, the dogs have been walked and fed and I've had my first cup of coffee. Looks like another rainy, cool day so I'll be working on some small projects and reading.

@Ivy - $15 sandals that fit??!! That's a score!! I have actually found quite a few inexpensive tops and dresses through Amazon.

@Willow - that's become quite the "part-time" job for you. It really is a blessing for them to find someone like you who has a work ethic - but the natural tendency is to ride the workhorses to death. I hope your schedule settles down.

@MaybeRob- I am so glad that you've found someone to talk to. It really is exhilarating to finally be able to open up and get all of the thoughts out in the open, isn't it. I hope you find answers to your questions - and, most of all, find peace and happiness.

Be safe and find the goodness in this beautiful day!!!

Good morning

im up! I think.  Working on my wake up cup, just not Folgers.

yes, I’ve always tried to give as much as I get with employers.  My downfall with some was I believed in family first when my kids were involved.  Now I’m hundreds if not thousands of miles away.

Before I retired, working 9 hour days before going home then working some more after dinner was normal so that’s where this comes from.  Besides the sooner I get everything back in order financially the sooner I can go back to being retired.  And mentally this helps keep the spiders from building cobwebs.

I didn’t realize but my granddaughter the welder is working for a 4wd off road company. Welding up jeeps etc and parts.  I asked her if she was going to put her dads Jeep back together and she said I hope to.  Right now it’s in pieces and on Jack stands in the yard.  Not sure what he was trying to do but he took it all apart before he got cancer and now there’s no way he can reassemble it.

got to go

Good morning everyone:coffee:

@Willow it's smart to take on a part-time job when you're retired, and need to catch up financially. Once my small business fades away, I'll take a job at a local business for project/hobby money. Oh and I agree that it slow the cobwebs building in our brains.

@Ivy It is nice to realize we don't have to take charge, and lead the activity of the moment. As for the fist bump being a guy thing... I like them better than a handshake because I can explode it up with wiggly fingers.  Would an Namaste bow have worked better than the fist bump?

@MaybeRob G'day, and I hope the Rainbow Doctor continues to be a friendly resource for you.

Well, it's still unseasonably cold here in central Indiana, at least the sun is out today. I seamed to have pulled down my wood-stove, and vent-stack a week early.

Hugs,

Well my oldest son has proven that he can get up without any issues which I am very thankful for. We are all looking forward to school being over for the summer. It'll be nice to sleep in a little more. My youngest has slept a lot lately and I think he is going through a growth spurt. I'm thinking about hitting up the thrift store to see if I can find any clothes and I already have almost given up hope that they'll have my shoe size lol. Safe travels to the ones that are traveling and good morning to all.

First cup of coffee is history, and it was delightful to have fresh coffee in the house again. I'm thinking of freezing half of the bag. I have read that it doesn't make the coffee stay fresh longer, but I think that opening the bag every day speeds up the process of going stale, so since the freezer coffee will stay sealed while I use the first half of the bag, I think that will make a difference.

I am so glad to be here in a trans (including questioning and allies of course) space this morning. I really need it. I went to my online trans support group last night. I've been skipping it, but I probably shouldn't because I feel affirmed and healed (from the everyday bumps of being trans in a straight world) after going.

I'm in the middle of my favorite breakfast, a Van's waffle (no additives or junk food in it) with an egg. I scramble and microwave the egg, and it comes out in the same round shape and size as the waffle. I pick it up and eat it sort of like eating a sandwich.

I've had a look around for a weekend like that, but they are quite expensive. I found a place where you stay and they can escort you out around Bath or Bristol, I can't remember which. I'm seriously considering it.

In my experience freezing it didn't make a difference unfortunately. I haven't had stale coffee yet thank goodness. I usually go through it pretty quickly.

Finished my daily dose several hours ago, back from my bike ride and ready to ease into rest of my day.

I'm retired and have no interest in even a part time job, as I don't want a boss. I had my own consulting practice for 7 years and loved being my own boss. I always aid if I have to work for a jerk in might as well be me. However, I agree that one does need to find ways to challenge themselves. Many of my college friends seem to have much aged faster when they choose to retire from life not just employment. Find things you enjoy that help financially, physically, emotionally and socially. For me it is continuing to train for triathlons. I'm also looking for a volunteer opportunity that fits me. I'm currently looking at helping literacy in adults but haven't something that will work yet.

Mine definitely lasts too long, and it's a small bag.

I was able to find two athletic outfits and two skirts. They didn't have many tops unfortunately. I'll try to hit up another thrift store. I only three dresses, three outfits, heels, and regular shoes. It can definitely be expensive.

@Ashley0616Congratulations on your finds. Skirts are wonderful and can really expand a wardrobe. Good luck on finding more bargains.

Thank you. I'm looking forward to when I have enough women's clothes to wear so I can get rid of my men's clothes and truly be me.

That's wonderful @Ashley0616!!! Score!!! That is a wonderful way to fill out your wardrobe. It can get expensive, though.

I do a lot of shopping on Amazon - especially for blouses and jeans. I also have found that Sam's Club or Costco has lower priced women's clothes that are good quality. It's hit or miss what they have but I've found some cute items for my wardrobe.

I've culled my men's clothes a lot - still have to keep some - and my women's clothes now take up 1/2 of my closet...and my dresses are on my wife's side since they are too long to hang on mine. But, shoes??? My heels have taken over!!! Thank goodness for shoe bags!!! I find a lot of my shoes on eBay, some on Amazon. I search for heels or sandals in my size and then look for Best Offer listings and then try to get them at a lower price. It doesn't always work but I've scored some gorgeous shoes at fairly inexpensive prices. It just takes a lot of persistence.

Keep hunting, honey! No matter how many skirts you have, you'll never have enough IMHO. 🙂

What a day!  Very busy for a Wednesday.  Even when the Asst. Mgr was there she had her own work so I was pretty much alone handling our customers from 7 am to 3 pm. She left about 1 and returned at 3 so I could count out my drawer and close.  The person who was supposed to be there actually was on time but I was instructed to tell him to go ahead and start his evening work not cashiering.

why? Well, the district manager was due there at 4pm to meet with yet another employee to tell that person they were fired.  What a day.

When I got home we went out to the pool just to relax a while.  We talked with some neighbors who are friends and read.

Thank you! I'm definitely impressed by the seer volume of designs and decorations on women's clothing. It such a broad spectrum compared to how boring men's clothing is. I do have to admit I will definitely miss having the pockets but I will gladly take peace of mind over pockets any day. I have always loved shopping just never have enough money lol. I guess in all good time I'll get there to having a nice size closet. Although I still also trying work on my DVD collection as well. I have 1243 DVD's in alphabetical order. That is not counting tv series. I collect all kinds of movies from kids to horror. I'm wanting to see on how many DVD's I can get before I run out of titles and start researching other good movies. I also have a decent size music collection. I have 11,908 songs and still have plenty more to go. All are on iTunes thank goodness so I don't have to keep them up in alphabetical order lol.

That sounds like the perfect way to end the day. Our pool is now open but it's still too cold to use - just starting to get the water clean and heated.

Currently around 8 pm here, gonna wind down with a good book. Today started out badly, but steadily improved. Only thing is, I need new headphones (central wire in the plug snapped and I don't have the equipment to rewire it. Left side didn't work anyways).

Gosh, missed Monday again.   Did you know that Producer Keith Oslen was distraught because the duo his recorded Buckingham-Nicks first album went nowhere? In walked Mick Fleetwood also distraught because once again Flleetwood Mac lost a guitarist in Bob Welsh and he was at least going studio shopping and came to Sound City in LA because he'd heard the drum sound they got there was incredible. He asked Oslen to play something recorded there. Olsen played some of Buckingham-Nicks and Fleetwood loved the sound of the guitarist and wanted Buckingham. Olsen said he comes with Nicks because Olsen managed both. Fleetwood didn't want Nicks but eventually the remaining Mac members said okay and next thing you know - the Fleetwood Mac that scored a huge following was born. Sadly right after the "Fleetwood Mac" album and before "rumours" was recorded, the band got huge headed and got rid of Oslen so they didn't have to play him a lot of music they wanted to keep. Olsen did ok after by recording Ozzy Osbourne, the Grateful Dead, Whitesnake, Pat Benatar, Heart, Santana, Saga, Foreigner, Scorpions, Journey, The Babys, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joe Walsh, 38 Special, and Eric Burdon & the Animals, among others. BTW - Olsen was also a members in 1967 of a band called Music Machine (not the James Taylor one) that scored a huge hit with the song "Talk Talk"

Still on contentment high from Sunday.
    • Heather Shay
CONTENTMENT The relentless pursuit of happiness often overshadows the more subtle yet profound emotional state of contentment. While happiness may be a fleeting high, contentment is the gentle hum of satisfaction that resonates through the soul, offering a sustainable path to life satisfaction. Oscar Wilde's poignant observation encapsulates this truth: "True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have."

I've been looking forward to the legitimate medical groups coming out strongly against Cass' biased and one sided report, so I'm really glad to see the article you posted, @Davie.  Unfortunately, it won't get nearly the coverage that Cass has gotten.  She has done her dirty work.  Hopefully the pushback and investigative reports on her and her support network will result in her work being shown for what it is.  She is a fraud, and sooner or later all frauds are found out.   Carolyn Marie

CONGRATULATIONS, Jessica!!  That's really BIG! I myself did not experience a huge emotional roller coaster.  It was more like a smooth slide into emotional comfort.  The biggest effect I felt is when my Dr put me on T-blockers first.  I felt a bit 'empty' for a couple of months, but then realized it was just because the 'T-monster' was no longer running around inside of me.  Then I felt it was my new 'normal'. I feel like the estradiol was the 'frosting' on my transition affirmation.  It's been only positives.  I do cry a lot more, but it's only because I finally feel free to allow my emotions to come out.  To me it's not 'hormonal' ... it's FREEDOM!   Everybody is different but it sounds like you are under great care.  I hope you have a beautiful first year in transition on HRT (keep us updated if you can).
