I don’t if it is too soon to have grs because I’m a month on hrt but I just want it gone!

WPATH guidelines say you need to be on HRT for a year before you're a candidate for GCS. It doesn't have to be much longer than that though. I got in at 17 months. Most surgeons have at least a six month waiting list though so you need to be proactive if you really want it and be ready to harass people who are sitting on your paperwork.

Also letters of recommendation. You need to be on top of those, but not TOO on top of those if you want your insurance to pay out. They consider fresher letters of more import than older letters. Remember: Your insurance is looking for whatever reason they can to not pay you.

This public service message has been brought to you by the number 7, the letter Q and the cat sleeping in my lap.

Hugs!

Thanks Jackie my insurance company has already stated they don’t cover it. So financing is going to be the hard part. In all honesty I will probably have to wait a few years. My wife and are in the process of spending 25000 to hopefully get her pregnant. So as much as I want it. It will have to wait.

Had to switch the routine of coffee to Thai tea, it's way easier on the stomach, and it's better for cooling down. It's over 80 degrees outside.?

What about when you cannot do HRT? just curious.

I'm... not sure actually. You might be stuck or have to leave the country for a doctor who doesn't follow WPATH guidelines. I'll e-mail my surgeon and see if she has any insight.

I think the guidelines are flexible enough to accommodate someone who, cannot have HRT for some good reason.

I do think that blood clots are a good reason.

OK, so according to my surgeon:

"If a patient can't take HRT, their doctor will have to supply a letter to that effect.

If there is a health reason, sometimes the insurance will waive that criteria, but there needs to be a documented medical reason why.

We have run into situations where a patient identifies as gender neutral/fluid/non-binary and they do not take hormones. This is harder to get waived by insurance, but not impossible. In this situation, the therapist will need to write the letter stating the reason and why the HRT criteria should be waived."

So that's the answer to that in the states. Communication between your providers is key and your insurance company, as always, is the adversary.

Is there an extra seat at this table?  Is this the place where we can post about any little event without starting a new thread?  Can I still post in the afternoon?  Do you mind that I prefer tea? ?

I just had something nice happen and I need to tell somebody.  Ya know?

I went to a little backyard nursery today to get my annual impatiens for my porch pots.  I feel extra good today so I put on makeup and left my hair down.  The lady who owns the nursery is about my age and she was so nice.  We gabbed for 10 minutes about decor and arts & crafts and doll collections.  It was obvious she didn't "make" me and it felt SOOO good!  Trying not to be giddy here because I need to learn to take it all in stride, but it's been awhile and I just can't keep it to myself, tee-hee.  Thanks for listening and sorry if I intruded!

Tori, Welcome to the thread. You are welcome to post at anytime. I started this thread for just that reason to talk to one another. Happy things,  sad things, just about anything. with in the forum rules, of course. if you read just some of mine. I talk about everything from happy moments to sad.

Tea is always a welcome beverage. We won't complain too much. How ever there are some of us who are coffeeholics, Cough, cough, Shawna Leigh cough cough. LOL

Two cups of coffee in the morning, then green tea after that. Green tea is good for you, I've been drinking it for so long that I now like it.

I just have to join into this coffee and tea discussion to note that my wife introduced me to Mokka pot coffee. It’s stovetop espresso. My morning isn’t complete without a strong, dark, sweet cup. If I have chores at night after everyone goes to bed, I’ll save some of the pot and drink it cold and sweet. I live on coffee...

Good day for me,found out both of my daughters did good in school. My youngest loves going with me during the summer on the routes I go to every shop I stop at to sell tools at.She is going to after the 6th of June.Good thing is she loves to help me out stocking my tool truck up every weekend.Did great this week, some were off the street while at a couple shops I stop at.I don't mind them getting in and buying tools from me.Hopefully it goes better with me,met a great new SO Tuesday, she is supportive of my crossdressing.Started dating another one before her,it didn't work out.She lied to me,was too bossy and I didn't like it.Date on Monday night, she does want to meet Mika sometime.

It is my birthday,I am 52 years young now - and I cannot even go for a walk. My city is under curfew on account of rioting past night.  I have no words for the murderous arse whose callous actions sparked these events.  I hope everyone stays safe.

LOL! I feel your pain Jackie! Sylvester loves to climb up on my lap whenever he sees me on the computer. I just count my blessings and count myself lucky that he doesn't demand to get on the keyboard!

Happy Birthday @MetaLicious. Hope your birthday went ok despite the restrictions. It’s getting crazy out there. There’s a big protest heading my way in Seattle tomorrow.

Stay alert and out of harms way,

Susan R?

That’s ok @ShawnaLeigh, it’s now 2:46 and I haven’t been able to fall asleep yet. The little ones are fussing and I JUST finished the wife’s nightly deep tissue massage. She has fibromyalgia so she gets a full body massage every night. My mind will not rest tonight.

I should also note that I’m going to do what I need to make today, ALL DAY, as happy and positive as yesterday morning was.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷

@Abigail Genevieve, that is not an appropriate question, IMO.  This isn't the Army/McCarthy hearings.   Carolyn Marie

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?
