Genetic Basis For Transgender?

Maid In Bedlam

Recommended Posts

I looked into the genetics of transgender Wondering if there was a clue to my own and many others dysphoria

I was surprised to find that recently there was a study into this and from the early results it would seem there could be a link.

The implications would be dramatic. Consider this, If it is genetic then for instance what we may have been assigned at birth may be medically proven to be inacurate.  Therefore Should genetics play a part then no one could ever wrongly class gender dyshoria as a mental illness which anyone who has actually tried to answer that question would know its to do with the makeup of the brain. Thats what i have deduced from my own studys. The brain is diffrent for people with dysphoria but the question is why is it diffrent?

A genetic link between gender dysphoria and sex hormone signalling

Being honest i havent seen any publicity really concerning these findings. I have drawn my own conclusions as to why.

I think there is a post on this subject previously but this would appear to be the latest study and is a very convincing read.

GD comes from a whole list of sources but not all of them happen in each person, and they may come from the body doing its own "genetic engineering" just because it can.   I have two known genetic "variances" that may  play some part in GD. since both are prevalent in male to female Trans people.  What those variances do to actually cause the GD is still under investigation.

One of the things I have is a duplicated sequence of a hormone receptor cell gene.  At the more frequent single sequence it helps in the use of Testosterone, at double length it prevents the most effective use of T.  It may theoretically be the reason that E makes me feel better and more myself.

Scientists are discovering "chemical switches" on some genes that have an "Off,  On #1, On #2  and even wider ranges in some places.  It will depend on how those switches get thrown as to what and how a person will behave in the LGBTQ* spectrum.  Narrow minded people who need things on or off without another choice go crazy and hit their own Binary switch so hard they have broken it and think the broken switch works just fine.
