Gaining fat healthily

Recommended Posts

I've been on estrogen for a while and so far it's doing a fantastic job of directing my body fat to all the right places, but I'm having some trouble gaining and holding onto that fat in the first place. I've always had trouble eating large meals and I've also been having trouble sticking with a routine of a larger number of smaller meals. I don't want to go the junk food route because, I mean, not only can it increase my risks for adverse health effects, but more importantly think of what that would do to my beautiful, glowing skin! Most of the information I can find about gaining weight healthily focuses on gaining muscle which is NOT what I'm going for.

Does anyone here have any tips or advice for how this skinny vegetarian can get a bit more body fat? Even just advice on ways I can get myself to stick to eating more often would be much appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

Personally, if you are not underweight, I would advise just eating a healthy diet and live with things. People have differing bodyshape and metabolism. I would suggest talking to a dietician if you really need to make changes or very unsure. The trouble with making big changes in your diet is that it could well affect your health too. Professional advice would be a good idea. My take on life is to keep healthy and make as few changes as possible that may affect health.
