Texas trans girl hoping to move very soon and would like to hear your experiences with Seguin, Texas

   Howdy y’all! I’m seriously looking at moving to Seguin, Texas and was wondering if any trans folks have any experience there. I know it’s very close to San Antonio so it’s probably at least somewhat LGBTQIA+ friendly. Do you have any info on Seguin? I've tried googling and it didn't give me any real results.

  I currently live in a very small town where we were taught lots of anti-LGBTQIA+ things in our public school, churches, and basically everywhere else. It’s pretty normal for LGBTQIA+ folks to get harassed or even attacked where I am now.

Hola! I've never been to Texas, and have nothing informative to share about it, sorry. Just felt like saying hi I guess. I live in MN, about the farthest thing from Texas. 

 

I have some extended family who live in eastern Texas, near the border of Louisiana where they're from. I think Texas is a beautiful state! I read some statistics in an article that say support, education and healthcare for lgbtq+ people is some of the lowest in the country though. Hope your getting along alright down there anyway! ❤️

Howdy fellow Texan! I'm near Houston, so can't say much for SA, but I love the Texas Hill Country. Austin, which is nearby, is VERY welcoming for LGBTQ+ folks, the Planned Parenthood center there offers transgender health care services. Texas is still pretty conservative, even in the large cities, but they all have places that are generally safer than other areas. My advice is look for Meetup groups in the large city you want to hang out in, or ask about community centers. Good luck!
