Journey of my life

Journey of my life,it started bad.Growing up being 3rd oldest of 5 brothers,I knew inside I was hurting.Never saw myself like them, started when I was 5.My parents noticed first,my mom caught me trying on her makeup a few times.Dad,he saw I was acting feminine a lot.My parents didn't know what to do at first.I started dressing as a girl at home.My teen years, knew I wanted to become female.I finally came out in November of 1998 2 days before thanksgiving to my parents first.I was tearful a bit coming out to them.My parents, they comforted me deciding to support me.Mom found me a good therapist, diagnosed with gender dysphoria.I knew right away I wanted to transition going in for a 2nd opinion and that went good.Best news was in December of 1998,put on the hrt which I started on January 1st,1999.I did break news to my  brothers 3 days before Christmas, they accepted it deciding  to support me.My transition went good having the breast augmentation and trachea shave in 2000.In 2001,I decided not to have the srs surgery and my family supported my decision.

Debra i took the liberty of fixing the date of your post above.

Thank you for your share.  It made me think back to my parents reaction to my expression of self.......all boy's school. In those institutions it was certainly dangerous if not impossible for me to come out but then again that was in the 50's through the 60's.

It's lovely to see your story though it might have "started badly".

I'm glad you've joined us here.

Hugs,
