It is good you are seeking therapy.  Its a great start reaching out to a professional in your school. I applaud you.  But be aware that they are a general sort of counselor.  Which can cover a range of issues but they are there to help you get the help you need.  You will need to eventually find a gender therapist to help you.  I don't say this to discourage you.  By no means.  Just so you are aware they will most likely not be able to help you long term.

As for coming out, that is a personal choice and must be on your time line.  Don't rush it if it doesn't "feel" right.  Don't let others stall you if you feel its the right time too.  We are all trying to get all of us to a happy place and sometimes that takes time.  Thankfully you are young and have such time.  LOL

Yeah I'm working on finding a gender therapist but there seems to not be a lot of them where I'm at sadly

There are probably more then you realize as they all seem to have multiple categories/disciplines they treat.  But I can understand depending on your area.  It can be a hard thing to find.

Maybe once you have spoken to your school counselor they can recommend one to you and your parents.  It may help having a professional suggest this to them other then just you trying on your own.

Really? I just did a quick websearch and found... let's see... at least four pages worth. You're not that far from me. Ohio can't be all that much drier than Michigan. But yeah, plenty of choices. The therapist at school will probably be able to refer you.

Heck, you've got a Transgender Health Clinic attached to the Cincinnati Children't Hospital and Heartland Trans Wellness (my first gender therapist works out of U of M). I think you'll be able to find someone.

Hugs!
