So as you know I told my son from my other recent post. An incredible feeling.
Well my daughter was told tonight and it went even better!
Apparently she has a friend that just went through all this snd she knows how hard it was on her.
She said she wishes she knew sooner.  She felt so sorry for me.
I broke down and cried.
My wife looks over and said. “Well looks like she’s ok with it“  Lol

Wow, more great news ShawnaLeigh...what a relief for you!  One of my grandkids said almost the exact same thing to me after my retelling my life story at a kids level (they were 7 & 9 at the time).  Some children have deep empathy.  It surprised me.  I think it was very helpful for you that her friend had experiences similar to yours.  Sounds like you have some great kids.

Thank you ladies.  It has been wonderful having that stress lifted.
I still have my uphill battles but my support is growing to an unexpected size.
it gives me hope for an easier transition.

How wonderful ShawnaLeigh, I'm so glad your children are taking it well.  I actually have a dear friend that is transitioning, and when she told her daughters, one of them said: "well it's about time you finally confirmed what we already knew."  Kids are so intuitive and they are of a generation that doesn't have the hangups ours does.

Congrats, hugs,

Sally

I had a similar experience about a week ago. I went to a cousin of mines house for dinner in booties and with my nylon bra and fake breasts in. She commented me on them. Her mother my aunt was there and didn't say a thing.

Mahaney that was brave! Telling family and have them process it is one thing, but when they actually see us dressed physically in front of them we can still only hope for a positive reaction. Good news is good newsthough, well done Shawnaleigh I'm happy for you :)

I may be alittle late but congratulations! lol I believe the next few generations aren't going to be as judgemental as people were in the past, My younger brother and sister were both happy af to hear me coming out last summer as well, i was super relieved because of how well they took it and understood, the feeling of being accepted by the people you feel like you have a responsibility to is one of the greatest things ❤️

This here. The difference in attitude from this generation vs. my own generation or my parent's generation is amazing. I hope that we continue to move forward as a culture and a species and away from the prejudices of the past. My niece was great, she was basically, "Neat! I have another aunt." My nephew is seventeen and communicates entirely through grunts and farts. I think he's happy, but it's hard to tell.

LOL I might have the same personality as your nephew minus the farting part ? I like to be a loner so I prefer little to no communication at all unless it was virtually done then I could talk away for hours! I know that its most likely a form of anxiety & i should see someone about it but i'm fine, i'm happy, infact i've never felt this way since the day i found out why i was a "boy" in physical form. Sometimes things take time and patience instead of gouging on pills with 3984520938 side effects. IM NOT AGAINST PILLS, I just try to avoid them WHENEVER i can, But i will take pills whenever i really need them, like my HRT pills but anyways i'm going to shut up before this turns into a messy debate on medication/healthcare lol.

Can I just say i'm jelly about all of your waving flags though? Any way i could fix this or is this a web dev thing?

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.

While the Soviet Union did not end up being the source of all evil, I believe that history has shown that Joe McCarthy generally was right. There ARE all kinds of Marxists slithering around. And if that had been dealt with firmly 75 years ago (or more) the nation wouldn't be in the shape that it's in now.    And while I generally oppose the idea of intervening in foreign affairs, the world probably would have been better off if we had taken care of issues in Russia and defeated the Bolshevik Menace back in 1919. God bless the memory of Admiral Kolchak.   Getting back to project 2025, my belief is that Republican efforts are inappropriately focused on trans folks. A minority of a minority does not wreck a nation. But it is easier to focus on trans folks because they can look like they're doing something. They don't have to address the real problems, and really they don't want to address them because they would have to address themselves.  They would also need to admit that the 50 State version of the USA cannot be saved.

@Willow things went pretty well on Monday. I have been working on the project all week long. I've been hanging out with my husband a lot, since he said that nobody would mind because I'm working on company stuff. My work is going slowly, but it is going. Rather better than I had hoped.   I ended up waking up late this morning. After 18 months of only working on house chores, not really used to doing anything else. Actually a little bit tired

Getting back to this… I've seen objections to Critical Race Theory, but simply "critical theory" is a new one on me.  I think we need to be "critical" about a lot of things, or at least examine why we believe what we do about them.  If they stand up under scrutiny, great.  If not perhaps we need to look at something else.   Not all socialists are Soviet Russian Communists. I have read very little Marx myself.  That kind of writing bores me quickly.  But I think there are legitimate concerns about unfettered capitalism.  There are countries that seem to do well on a mixture of capitalism and socialism.  But I am no Tankie.   The Red Scare kinda morphed into the Lavender Scare, and now we have this Transgender Scare.   The thing is, most people are scared to get to know any of the people they are scared of. I'm not scared of evangelical christians.  But I am a little scared of what they seem ready to do to me, because they are scared of me. I am not a scary person - don't want to be.  I'm just an old trans woman trying to mind my own business, and get with what's left of my life. And the 2025 project seems to be designed to make that difficult.
