What a Wonderful Day!

Hi All! Today was a wonderful and groundbreaking day for me ?‍♀️

First, I went to an affirming church that I've been going to for the last month. I met a gay couple  there (I'm pretty sure but not 100% because they didn't say so). I got to know them a little and told them what I'm going through. They were very supportive and friendly.

Afterward I decided to stop by a wig store for my first time. I was so scared. But I went in and a young lady started helping me. It was so much fun! But without any makeup all of the wigs made me look like an old hippy guy. That was a little disappointing but I plan to go back next week.

While I was there I got to try on some makeup. They are apparently the local go-to place for the best drag, which means it's serious stuff! I bought a little bit of makeup but not a wig yet. They also have lots of clothes. I'm hoping they might have bras and inserts.

The girl helping me was so much fun! She was really enjoying it and being very helpful. It made such a big difference because it was my first time to be in public looking at any trans/woman stuff and I was nervous.

Then I stopped by a drug store and bought more makeup and brushes. It was so exciting. Then later I went to Goodwill and tried on a bunch of tops. That was really scary!! The wig shop was used to transwomen and crossdressers, but not Goodwill. I got several looks and a scoff while looking at the clothes. When I asked to use the dressing room the lady told me she wasn't sure she would be able to open it and mumbled something about the key. But another worker was nearby when she tried and he opened it. She made a remark that he wasn't supposed go do that. But the lady who checked me out was smiling and very nice, telling me things like how pretty the clothes were, etc. On my way out I was afraid one of the male workers might jump me and beat me up or worse, but that was just fear.

I found a blouse, two button-up shirts, and a short dress. They're all SO cute! When I got home my wife and kids were all at a Super Bowl party so I had time to try it all out ?. I put on the makeup and it wasn't bad for my third or fourth try in my entire life. Then I tried on all of the tops and the dress. It made me so incredibly happy to do that. I started feeling like I might actually be able to be pretty some day. And with a wig, my outfits, and maybe a little more practice at makeup, I might actually be able to pass to some degree!

Of course I ended up with rag burn around my eyes trying to get off the waterproof eyeliner before my wife got home. But all in all this was an amazing and monumental day for me.

TL;DR:

- Befriended a gay couple

- Shopped for woman stuff (looking like a middle-aged dude) at three different places, and I've never even done it once before

- Got some makeup and clothes

- And I'm beginning to own my trans-ness.

Love,

Belle ????‍♀️??‍♀️

OMG this is so amazing Belle!  I am so proud of you and what you had to overcome to be brave enough to do these things.  The first and even the fifth time was super scary for me.  I shopped last night again with my wife and bought a few nice pieces and a nice mauve fleece jacket that is so soft it is crazy.  To do these things on your own is a testament of how truly brave you are.  I still have a sense of holding back a lot when out there shopping and I feel overwhelmed with the choices their are for women.  Seriously.  Guys have like basic sizes and very few different styles so your shopping for color more then a style.  Women's clothing is a whole new world for clothing shopping.  For me anyways.  This is why I go with my wife as she is a master shopper and finds ridiculous deals and very nice things.  Plus she helped me fit them later in the dressing rooms.

Heck yea you will be pretty!  You already are beautiful!  I get my first trial with makeup next Friday then a walk in our Capital city of VT, then a drive home culminating in my wife seeing me full female presenting.  It will be huge for me. (she knows this is going to happen so no shock factor)

You have already surpassed this by far.

You go girl!

That is so wonderful Belle!  Glad you had what sounds to be an amazing experience. Sounds like you got yourself some nice stuff too. Hopefully this is just the first of a lifetime more of great experiences for you.   Hugs!

Wow Belle! That is incredible. I have not even come close to being that brave! It is fantastic that you have met some really affirming people, and the wig store sounds fantastic!

I'm glad you had such good time Belle!  Much better than watching some silly football game!

Wow, I wish I experienced all this all in one day.  You hit the jackpot, hon!

Here’s wishing you continued joy,
