Thanks for the support, ladies!

In preparation for the big day, I have to shave down there.  I started that process today with a scissors trim and a light pass with an electric shaver.  I'll follow up at the hotel with a proper razor.

Yikes!  I can't believe that people do this for recreational purposes!

So, I arrived in Montreal this morning.  I don’t fly often, so this was my first experience since transitioning.  The machine selected me for the dreaded scanner.

It turned out to be no big deal.  The security person said I had an option to be patted down or scanned.  Well, I long ago decided that no one would ever grope me again, so I opted for the scan.  That was a good opportunity to tell her that she should press the blue button instead of the pink one.  She hesitated for a second, then nodded.

With that, the entire experience was uneventful.  No contraband found.  No boobs found either, apparently, so I guess mine are in the plausible range for blue-button people! :(

I resisted the urge to tell her that the pink button would be the right one on the way back. :D

@KathyLauren I'm glad the flight was uneventful and I hope you had a nice day in Montreal.  Tomorrow is the last day as your new life begins on Wednesday.  Big Hugs!

Aw, thanks, Jani!  I’ve got my two bottles of “special treat” for tomorrow evening.?

I think I understand those to not be the kind of "special treat" we might look forward to on a trip to the big city!!!  Ahh the price we pay.  It will all be a distant memory soon.

Hugs, Jani

The tradition is that your last meal before the clean out is either a hot dog or other big sausage.  Best on the trip to The Other Side.

Glad you arrived unscathed and in good spirits. We’ll be thinking about you!

My best to you,

Ahhh the magic elixir, my last solid food meal was "In n' Out" burger since I was in CA :)

It will be over soon, and then that first meal afterwards is just soooo good

Best

Ugh, I wish I'd thought of that. That would have been awesome.

May your flavor choices of magic elixir be to your liking. I had cherry and grape. Cherry was actually pretty good. I still have nightmares about the grape.

See you on the other side sweetie!

The magic elixir isn’t oral!

That's unfortunate. I had a "not-oral" component too, but it was for after I'd cleared most of it out with the oral stuff. Good luck with that. I wasted one of the bulbs figuring out how the whole thing worked. I ended up on all fours in the bathtub so I wouldn't make a tremendous mess.

That would have been a good time for some lube.

Surgery done.  Dopey and sleepy, but no pain.  More later.

Oh, that seems fast for some reason.  I didn’t think we would hear from you so quickly after the surgery.  I am amazed you posted.  This is great news, Kathy...I am very happy it’s done and now your moving on to recovery.

I don’t look my best without my wig, but I feel good.  I just went for a walk around the ward, and it was fine.  The nurse was happy with my progress.  I have almost no pain.  I suspect that that is an advantage of the shallow vaginoplasty.

Yeah, I wore my fox ears at the hospital for the same reason. Also, it's hard to feel anything but happy when you're sporting a pair of big red fox ears.

I didn't realize you went "no depth" You're going to miss out on the mile of packing material crammed into your abdomen! Admittedly you're not missing much, that stuff was foul after a week and super uncomfortable.

I was surprised by the lack of pain too. I mean it hurt, but not that much. It hurt more for tonight and tomorrow, but it dropped off really fast. I mostly used the pain meds to get to sleep easier.

Get some rest sweetie. Your body has healing to do.

Hugs!

When someone looks good, even when not put together and coming through a major ordeal, that someone must be truly beautiful.

What I should say is heal well Kathy!

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷
