frame of referance for female voice

Hello, I am considering SRS(MtF) in the future, but as a first step toward that goal, I am going to try to achieve a female voice. I have no clue how to start changing it, what kind of people to listen to for reference, and how other people will react. I haven't even told my mom, the only person I've told is a friend of mine who is the only person I trust more than my family.

note that this is completely hypothetical, i am pretty certain that i am going to do this but there's still that 2% of my mind that is questioning the transition.

please help me

If you are MtF the first people to listen to are girls your age and in your social circle.  Pitch is not nearly as important as is the vocabulary and the voice musicality and word emphasis.  Girls do those thing differently than boys do, so go straight to the source for that and really listen.  Another help would be singing experience, and there, find songs written by women about their subjects and experiences and in the Alto. and high Tenor ranges.  A third place would be to find scripts of plays with female characters and read their dialogues with each other.  If you can do it, join your school's drama club and offer to read the female parts to your club members.

There are really a lot of ways to do it, it requires LISTENING and remembering what you heard.  We have posts about this in several places here on the forums and you posted this in the right one.

As to being 98% sure you want and NEED to do this, that is much more than enough to at least try it.

I strongly recommend a voice coach. There are a number of voice coaches that can be either contacted in person (depending on where you live) or you could go with an online program. I personally achieved good results with the Female Voice Club when feminizing my voice, but I have friends who have achieved voices they're satisfied with using other coaches and programs.

This is one of those things where what you get out of it depends on what you put into it. I found it to be incredibly rewarding. However, there are also surgical options. You should still have a voice coach afterwards (because of all the things Vicky said and more) to get inflections, speaking patterns, etc... nailed down, but surgery will absolutely fix your pitch if you can't do it yourself.

Good luck sweetie!

Hugs!

I'm in voice therapy now but only two appointments deep and unfortunately they are spread out to just one per month.  I am struggling with it as I have a physical issue going on with me that effects my voice box.  I don't see it as a real issue at first as it puts me in a gender neutral voice pitch but apparently I have to get back to my original male voice before I can try to learn to manipulate my female voice.  (Sigh)

However like the other ladies pointed out if you can nail the "way" females talk and gesture while they talk that is half the battle.  There are tons of apps on your phone that can help teach you this to a point but the best teacher is listening like Vicky said and mimic what you hear and learn from others.

Once a month isn't a terrible pace. It's not super quick, but I bet there's plenty of homework between lessons with things you can work on. I was only doing two lessons a month and that kept me PLENTY busy most of the time.

She was wanting me in once per week to get the other issues ironed out before heading into real conditioning.  I do have a ton of physical exercises and stretches I have to do and a few voice training techniques to do while driving.

As I read this one, it is only for school bathrooms.  I hope he has signed a bill to triple the number of "security monitors" on the campuses and up their pay considerably, not to mention some other costly stuff.  Only way is for every school employee, to know the birth certificate information of each student by memory which will require 3 additional months of salary for them all.  It appears the enforcement relies on parental reports obtained from their children which opens so much up.  The kids will end up ALL with wet or soiled underwear while the parents go at each other with weapons over "family honor" over false calls based on childish name calling.

I agree. This law is impractical and impossible to evenly enforce without such ridiculous measures in place. What it will do is stigmatize the trans community in Oklahoma and nothing more but ofc, that’s the only point of it.   If I was in that state and needed a restroom, there’s no chance I’d ever step foot in the men’s restroom because of some law. I know I’m not alone in that thinking. This law won’t stand the test of time.

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!
