Hello from a complex transgender

Recommended Posts

Greetings everyone.

Introducing myself, just call me Lyfia, 33, and this is the first time I'm involved in a forum of transgender people. I just wish to be able to speak out my thoughts and feelings freely.

In terms of orientation, I'm still pretty much into women, and I feel much more comfortable talking with women on personal issues, my thoughts and feelings, although still not that freely. Deep in my heart, I definitely feel I'm a female, since my earliest memory. If I can choose a gender to be born with, I will choose female each and every time.

I'm researching about the surgery, and even for this, not all hospital representatives responded the way I feel comfortable. So I thought perhaps I can learn and ask anything from this forum.

Thank you everyone.

Welcome Lyfia,  nice to meet you. You should find some of the answers you are looking for somewhere in this forum.  The answer may be buried deep so if you can’t locate it...just ask and you will likely have plenty of diverse viewpoints, information, ideas and suggestions to read.  We are a fairly helpful bunch so give it a spin and see what comes up.

Warmest Regards,

Susan R?

Hold your horses there Lyfia. Its a slow process. For most of us its taken many years to discover what we really are.

If you just go asking about gender change. Then im not surprised you got negative feedback.

Have a read. Take in all the sights this place has to offer then you can be endowed with more knowledge than you started with.

Enjoy the education trip from real life expreiances from those who have been there.

But most of all. Welcome to the forum

Hello and Welcome to TransPulse.  It is a wonderful place to learn that's for sure.  Honest and real answers and no judgements.

Id like to add the standard response most will say as well and that is start by seeking out a gender therapist.  They can help you navigate all your early questions and feelings and they should be about to assist you in figuring out what is best for your transition.  The only thing I will add to this is you HAVE to be totally honest with them and do not fear them.  They have been there and done that with many trans folks and know the score sort to speak.  They will not judge you nor convey any of your information like any other doctor has to do.

It is usually the first step before you can be seen by others doctors to seek more physical changes like getting hormones prescribed and eventually GRS surgeries.  Most doctors who preform surgery are under a constraint of you living full time as your preferred gender at least a year minimum.

Like @Maid In Bedlam mentioned no one is going to take you serious unless you have this under your belt first.

If you do find a source for a quick route then DO NOT TAKE IT!  It will be very dangerous and possible damaging for life.  This is the best advice!

So yes please hang out and read and ask away.  We are here to help and support and if you need to vent that's fine too.  We all have or still do.

Good Luck!

Hello and welcome Lyfia!

It's commonly a slow process. For one thing, medical professionals must make certain this isn't a whim or other issue, because once certain things are gone, they're gone.

Consulting with a gender therapist would be a great start, since they will ask you questions that will help you find yourself.
