Two weeks post-op.  My labia are really swollen.  They are painful from rubbing against each other.  I try to keep everything clean and dry, but the skin sticks, and I worry that I'll get blisters.  I'm not doing any exercise, other than going up and down stairs a few times a day.  It's not like I'm doing a 10 km hike every day.

Any suggestions for treatments that won't adversely affect healing?  Creams, powders?

I'm seeing a doctor next week, but that's a week away.

I've heard that letting air get to it speeds healing. Otherwise, a moisturizer maybe? I'd ask my surgeon... well, my patient advocate. She can ask my surgeon.

Hugs!

Kathy, I was directed to use moistened pads to keep the area from drying out but at some point it started to heal and the area had become raw as you describe.   By two weeks it was healthy enough to be able to use an ointment (A&D, Vaseline or similar) to lubricate and protect the area from this type of chafing.  If you haven't been told this is all right I would suggest contacting the doctor's office for their thoughts.

Are you wearing pads??  Some of your dilation lube or if you are 0 depth you can still use a plain surgical lube gel on the pad.  My other suggestion from my experience was to get the plainest white cotton underwear you can get one or two sizes bigger than you usually wear and use the pad, but spread your legs and get the pad itself inside the vulva slightly to spread them apart.  Those suggestions are on opposite ends I know, but @Jani 's suggestion about calling the doctor is the best.

Thats what I wore pads for, to keep things separated a bit.  Vicky's suggestion is a good one!
