New And In Need Of Support

I guess I should start by saying hello. I just found out a couple of days ago that there is a name for what I've felt and struggled with all my life - transgender. At first I was relieved that there was a name for it, but the problem of telling others quickly consumed my attention. So, I'm trying to be brave and find others like me. As far as general info goes, I'm a biological female that identifies as a guy. I'm almost through college with a double major in biology and psychology. I'm married to a heterosexual man. I belong to a church that accepts everyone, but they still don't know that I'm transgender. (Or maybe they do, not like I hide my masculinity very well.) ;)

Welcome to the forums, Eck,

Let me get you all comfortable, come on into our members lounge and have a seat, I'll get you a little snack, it's our way of making sure that you feel right at home.

Would you prefer pizza or a cheeseburger?

The smell of fresh food sends the signal to all of the corners of the playground and alerts our friendly (and hungry) group that someone new has arrived and they all come to great you - do take a second piece of pizza before they get here.

We are all here to support each other and answer any questions that we can.

That being said, we strongly suggest that you find a therapist wiht a background in dealing with Gender Identity Issues, that is a great first step.

Welcome to the friendliest place on Earth.

Love ya,

Sally

PS - I fixed your font and color, next time just type your post, then highlight it and select font and color - that's the way it works here - pretty easy once you get used to it.

Wow, this is great! I'm really pumped about getting to know everybody. Thank you all for your encouragement. I never thought I'd meet anyone who didn't think that I'm a complete...well, you know the words that people use when they're judging you. It's really hard when you feel like you have to keep everything about yourself a secret and never let anyone know who you really are. For me, that's been the hardest part - the secrets. It doesn't take long at all for you to feel that nobody likes you because if they knew who you really were, they wouldn't like you (according to the bad-thinking part of the brain). <_<

I do see a doctor for meds and psychotherapy, so I think I have a real edge there. I was so afraid that I'd get rejected that I wrote my doctor a letter the day before my appointment to see him last week because I didn't want to see the disappointment on his face when he found out. Of course, I didn't know the words to use because I had never told anybody before, but it turns out that he finally feels like he knows what's going on with me and can help me better because I finally told him. He explained that there was a name for what's going on and that it was okay, and that there are other people in the world that feel the same way I do.

In short, you really made my day!

If you ever doubt that there is anyone else like you and are feeling alone - just log in and look at your member number - Laura is 1 and they didn't start with 5000 either, click on the Laura's Playground main header then scroll down to the bottom to see who is on line and there is a total number for members through the years and how many are on line a lot of information that says you are far from alone.

Love ya,

Sally

Welcome to Laura's, Eck. I discovered that I was transgender four years ago. I didn't know what transgender was, either. Now I'm so proud being a transgender person. THis is a great site with some great people.

Hello Eck,

Yes, there is a name for everything across the TG spectrum...frankly, some of it is a little confusing to me...the point is, you are who you are regardless of what name they give it...you are so much more than a name...we are always here for you.

Love,

Marissa

My kitty has a litter box, which she uses on occasion.  But she prefers to make me get up to led her out. I could install a "cat door" but I'm afraid it would be used more by the possums and raccoons.  I have had possums in the house more than once - even without one.

Good morning everyone,   It was our first night with our European Boxer and it went well. We got up at 05:30 let him out of the cage and went directly outside to give him a chance to go potty. It has been raining for two days and nights so the grass is soaked and nearly up to his belly. I don’t think he’s ever been outside while it’s raining or wet. I had my rain jacket on and a big brimmed hat as well as rain boots, he just stayed at my feet no matter where we went in the yard. I took him to the previous locations where out daughter’s dog had gone poo, but he just sat at my feet. Once inside and drying him off with a towel. He took a poo right there. So I gathered up his mess, and took him and his poo outside. So right now it’s dog one, trainer zero. Now that the coffee is brewed and I have a cup, he’s chewing on a toy.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Strange that I awoke from a dream dreaming about "being able to pee standing up!"   I know that sounds strange from someone AMAB, but intersex issues have always prevented that.    I wonder what made me dream like that? That was a first! 🤔

Morning y'all.    Nearly winter here, but it's a mild climate compared to what most of you experience. Even so, the best way to describe the mornings lately is...nipply! 😁

What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow
