I think doing something like this is quite useful, not only for yourself, but any others that decide to follow along as well. You are showing great strength and courage by doing this. Have fun with this experience.

The YouTube channel is very important to me. I mainly made it for my mental well being as despite having people on this site I struggle to find people to speak too IRL so at least here when I speak to myself other people can see too.

I'll be posting more videos soon. :) I hope I don't run out of topics to discuss.

Hi Sophie,

The YouTube videos are a great idea.  Not only will they help you, but they provide other people with a realistic insight into what it means to be a trans person.

I look forward to future instalments.

Robin.

Sophie, when you do your videos, don't just think of it as speaking to yourself. I promise you people will be watching, some from within the TransCloset, some for pure curiosity, and others for HATE. The best tip I can give you about the HATERS is: Block them, don't take them to heart. You will need to develop thick skin for the HATERS. The sad thing about putting yourself out there for others to see, haters are more vocal and seem to out number your supporters. The truth is that you have more people supporting you than you know because they're afraid to speak up. I'm looking forward to watching you grow.

Best wishes, stay positive and safe.

@Mmindy I've not had any haters yet. 100% likes on everyday video so far which I'm very impressed by. However, I'm prepared for any hate.

Internet hate I can handle, I've been on the internet beat for a long time. It's the IRL hate I'm concerned about but I'm sure as long as I have friends going through similar issues IRL then I'll get through it just with that support.

I uploaded a new video about what my biggest fears are about transitioning

Just caught up on your videos.  You're amazing, Sophie.  I could never do that on YouTube and I'm further along.  That first one had me in tears.  So proud!  Keep them coming.

@Tori M awh sorry. It's usually me crying in between the cuts, it's often times so hard to hold it all together whilst I make these videos.

@Just Lee I'll need some more of that courage to tell the rest of the family but im all out right now.

Thanks for sharing! I'm a bit late to the party here, but I love youtube trans blogs (even if sometimes they make me feel so unbearably envious I could just burst!) I'll definitely check it out!

Hi Sophie,

I am enthusiastically following your videos every week.  As you recently discussed, it takes a lot of searching to find down to earth information on trans issues.  Many stories on the internet are of the "I changed from Rambo into a Disney princess in only six months (or vice versa)" variety.

I am glad to see that you are recovering well from you recent illness.

Robin.

I saw this concert in which it is said that the famous phrase of Jon Landau "I saw the future of rock and roll and his name is Bruce Springsteen" comes from that night. By the way Bruce opened for Bonnie Raitt that night and she was the better performer . . . just sayin'.

Astronomy and astrophotography.  I have done a few public presentations on the subject and could most likely wing it for an hour without putting you to sleep.   On the other hand if you need a sleeping pill, I could also talk for an hour about flying and you'd be out cold.

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.
