I had the most incredible day yesterday. Only took 68 years but I was able to talk to my doctor about HRT, do my blood work, set up appointments with an LGBTQ health care company for a HRT consult and team and start prcess of company therapist in my area. I finally came out to my wife of 27 years and she was supportive and this morning I got rid of the light beard (never could grow a big one and always told people I've been growing it for 50 years) and am now completely smooth faced and using LPI/eptilating. It sure would be nice to have clear sailing but at least some of the major hurdles in my life have finally been cleared and I owe a lot of the confidence building to do it to you wonderful new friends. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Much ladies.

@Shay

All I can say is WOW,  You did more in a day than most of us do in years. Congratulations on having the courage to move forward and come out to your wife. That part of my transition was so difficult for me. It always amazes me when one us actually does it.  You have a new frontier to conquer and it looks like your wife will be right there with you. I happy for you?

My Best,

That's wonderful! I'm happy for you. That sounds alot like when I started this journey over a year ago. I started trying to get back in shape and nair'd my body hair away. It was so amazing to see the skin of my belly again. It's such a good feeling to do the things you need to to take care of yourself ?

You are 100% right and several years ago I tried the Nair route on my legs after shaving and looking as my wife said when she caught me using gray market E, "gosh those look like a teen girl shaving for the first time". The Nair smelled horrible. Now I shaved "delicately" and started epilating with laser. I always used to keep my beard to force me to hold back my wants but this morning when I shaved as smooth as possible (the skin didn't know what the hell was happening, especially below my lips) and I moisturized then used the laser on my full face and twice under my nose that has not been naked for 50 years. You know what, I feel about as whole as I can - next next consult on hormones - CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Thank you for your kindness,

Shay

Congratulations on a joyful and productive day @Shay.  I wish that you can carry this feeling forward for many days!  I'm sure the look in the mirror was a bit different after you took care of those wayward hairs!

Cheers,

i think its too soon to tell. i hate to say it but i used it two times before i figured out how to use it. i will report back in a week or two. it indicates it takes a week or two....heres hoping...heck of a lot cheaper than electrolysis or professional lazer treatments.

I can certainly relate, as I came out at 69 and am now 71.  But two years of not being constantly stressed out as I was before, of no longer hiding my gender identity, has done wonders for my sense of well-being.  No regrets whatsoever.  Therapy, electrolysis, HRT has really been beneficial for me, too.  All good and necessary steps on my journey.

Summary:  you go, girl! ?

Hi again Shay

I was reading an article the other day about electrolysis vs laser hair removal they referred to laser as permanent hair reduction but said electrolysis was the only permanent hair removal.

Don't know how true that is but if it is true then the laser would be a good way to reduce hair until you find out better. If need be you could have electrolysis to finish what the laser does not do. It would mean less treatments if you have to go to it.

Wish you well with your laser treatments and hope it works for you

Hugs

I'm curious, but then if I am true to myself, I have a hard time being in crowds.  I love hearing great music, but being in an audience is such a turnoff for me that I don't go to concerts or bars.  I'm just very much a producer.  I actually like doing the dishes more than going to concerts because it's an active thing.

My therapist is trying a new tact. I've named my self protection self that ssays not eating or too much exercise because when I starting because oftrauma my protective self started and also at the time the name Shay came to me and is now part of my name.  It's not like having a split personality, just my primative self protection who is always there to help me. My therapist has Shay, me and him working as a team to assure her that I am safe and to start changing her role in my life so I protect me by eating right and exercising to maintain a heathy body. It is helping a little but we just started this a few weeks ago.

Good morning, everyone!!   Yesterday was lawn mower battery day. I've been nursing the battery on my Zero Turn mower for two weeks. It gave up the ghost when I stopped to refuel yesterday so I had to run over to the local shop to get a new one. And forgot my wallet so I had to drive home and back again.   Then, I was using the garden tractor with the bagger to pick up the clippings. I cut about 7 acres so it took me awhile. When I was done, I went to refuel it and, of course, it wouldn't start when I'd finished putting in the gas. I'm hoping it was just some corrosion on the cables - cleaned them up, gave it a quick charge and it started right up. We'll see if it will hold a charge now or turn out like the Zero Turn.   House cleaning day today. And then I'm going to just relax outside for a bit and enjoy one more warm day before our temps drop and rain comes in for the weekend.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!

Striking your head against the wall, you can lose 150 calories an hour. Blue color attracts mosquitoes in two times more than any other. Most toilet paper sold for home use in France is pink. I attend a medical day-centre in Texas for needed medical services. It's religious oriented, so not gender fluid friendly. I of course dress 100% in female attire yet androgynous to keep both "them happy", and I really don't mind.    I of course am imposed rules that no other participant is bound by. The examples are the allowed size of my backpack, or how many visits per day I can see my Representative payee.  The gender neutral restroom use was a compromise that all off us have agreed to.  Not being able to wear tanks tops or shorts that aren't "Bermuda length" are other examples of where I am restricted more than any other participant. "Bra talk" is strictly forbidden, even though their doctor and occupational therapist were the ones that told me I needed support due to neck pain.    I found myself being reprimanded by staff three times yesterday for very petty details, and they have constantly pushed for me to remove myself from the program voluntarily. I am of course someone not welcomed in the program, but federal discrimination laws prevent them from removing me. They instead are just making life miserable with the hopes that I will leave on my own.

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.
