No turning back and WOW!

I came out to my wife this morning and WOW, I thought I couldn't love her more but wow! She was totally supportive and excited about our future together with me being my true self.  She and I understand there will be challenging times but she actually said she wants the challenge, wants to live our authentic selves! Even called me her wife.  OMG I'm still crying.  Well, the cat's out of the bag so no turning back.  I will remember this day the rest of my life as one of the best days.  She's lucky to also have a good friend who is a psychologist and has a trans kid so I told her its totally OK to talk to her and also her best friend for support.  I can't believe how good I am with her being out to her special people.  Next challenge- my kids. That may be a bit since my daughter (who is bi) is facing her own struggles in life (not related to sexuality) and I don't want to dump on her right now.  I'm confident both my kids will be OK with it, but once they know I know there will be a cascade which I'm not quite ready for.  Oh Happy Day!

Right? Next is moving forward with therapy so I can start hormones which my wife was cool with.  (cool with what ever I need to do including full GRS)  I have to cool my jets and take it slow which is soooooo not me. LOL. Once I make up my mind on things it's usually full steam ahead.  Tempering myself is very hard but I know it's the smart approach.  I've only been on the forum for a short time but you all gave me such courage when I read all your stories and the immediate acceptance I felt here. Such a big thank you to everyone!!!

I get that too. I'm terrible at waiting. I felt that 48 years was more than long enough to wait. WPATH standards did not agree. I'll admit that the time helped me take off weight and work on my health too. Remind yourself that you need to give the healthcare industry time to cross their t's and dot their i's, then you need to give the HRT time to do its work. On top of that there are meetings and consults with specialists... I managed to go from starting Therapy to finishing GCS (on 1.5 years of HRT) in just under two years. That's a super short timeline and I didn't do it during a pandemic. So yeah, there's a lot of hurry up and wait.

Yea, if I can at least get on hormones in a few months time I would be happy. I'm going to start facial electrolysis as soon as I can to at least start on that ridiculously painful and financial process.  They're currently doing it in my area but only in 45 minute sessions so that will take years to complete but I feel as long as I get started it will help my psyche. I also want to get rid of a few masculine tats I got while trying to convince myself I wasn't feminine.  Voice lessons too.  So much I can do while the system catches up to me.

OMG! I might have the best wife in the world right now. I came home from work to a card and present. The card was addressed to my new femme name and she bought me panties and a cute sleep outfit.  She gave me permission to wear them around her or in private, whichever I was ready for. She admits it's challenging for her but stated, I'm all in so I might as well embrace it and get comfortable with it.  I'm crying.

I saw this concert in which it is said that the famous phrase of Jon Landau "I saw the future of rock and roll and his name is Bruce Springsteen" comes from that night. By the way Bruce opened for Bonnie Raitt that night and she was the better performer . . . just sayin'.

Astronomy and astrophotography.  I have done a few public presentations on the subject and could most likely wing it for an hour without putting you to sleep.   On the other hand if you need a sleeping pill, I could also talk for an hour about flying and you'd be out cold.

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.
