A Little Problem

I have a crush on this girl at my school.

She's my type from what I can tell.

But I don't know what to do, being female bodied and all, so I don't know if she's straight or what (though I am actually 95% sure she's straight).

I'm trying to get to know her better, but I don't want to come across like a weirdo. >.<

Have any tips???

btw, the thing that drew me to her was her beauty, just look!

Dear Misaki (Evan)

Just get to know her and be her friend!! In time, as you both get to know each other... well magic happens!!

She is pretty o-o

BUT

I agree with Bernii! It's best to be friends first, no matter what your gender or body is. So long as you put in some magic - o - attraction and kindness, anything can happen!

Things like compliments, small talk, noticing things she likes and dislikes and taking a shared interest, helping out in things as simple as letting her borrow a pencil or offering to hand notes or whatever people do in school and such... :3

However, getting to know her first is the best step. To get to know if she is a good person while being friends is a great way to sort out if it is a crush or if it can grow into something more... you will be surprised, a lot of 'straight' girls are incredibly understanding and kind. They can always surprise you, nothing is out of the question when it comes to an understanding girl.

But the main thing is stepping up and taking step one! 8D to show her you are confident and a great person. Someone who is willing to be there, yeah~ it is 100% confidence, especially if she's shy; she might not be able to talk easily but really like having friends.

I wish you best of luck, Misaki-kun! (you like to go by Evan right?) 8D

I agree with Bernii. Take it slow and kind of work your way up to it, like. Don't be heavy handed about it -- if you rush things or try to get to know her too fast, she'll probably be able to tell.

Does she know you're trans (or even that you're a guy)?

You've gotten great advice, never rush.

Even if you were a bio male rushing at a pretty girl scares them oof.

Beecome friends, find out what she likes and dislikes, there is a posibility that you have nothing in common and that's OK, but not if you find out after declairing your undying love.

Trust me on that one - don't ask me how I know, but I do.

If you have a lot in common then everything is moving in the same direction.

Love ya,

Sally

Ack, know what you mean! I think I might be in love with someone who may never see me as a guy. I grew up with her, she's my age, and I'm as close to her as I am with my sisters. She's beautiful, kind, and I can always make her laugh. I love making her laugh. I only just came out to her, and while she didn't react badly, I think she might if I came onto her. :P She hasn't had any time to adjust, and I don't know if she ever will, she's just known me as a girl for so long. And even if *I* got over her, I see her all the time and I will probably through my adulthood... constant reminder of her greatness... *sigh*

So.... I'm waiting and seeing. *shrug*

You may have more luck, though. Even if she's straight, I've had a girlfriend who said she thought she was in a straight relationship with me. I don't want to tell you to totally go for it, but I dunno, people can surprise you sometimes. Get to know her, see what happens, what everyone else said.

Ooo, love is hard. Friendship first especialy if she is straight. If she understands that u are male, then sexuality is nearly a non-issue cause ur a dude. She's a chick. It'll work itself out. I like her pants! Very cute! And best of luck!

Ps, what do u think of the rock lee pic? I would have a female pic up if rock lee wasn't so awsome!!!

Unlike everyone else, I recommend that you DON'T become friends with her. You know why? Because I get to watch all of my friends go into relationships with their friends and then when they break up, only one half of the pair stays friends because it's too awkward. Not only that, but I think a lot people in general are unwilling to go into a relationship if they have a strong bond of friendship.

I'd say that you casually flirt with her and her friends, get to know them a little bit, but stay strong with your own friends, and don't chase. Chasing makes you seem creepy and desperate. Just chill out and if she's straight and can't see you for what you are, then chances are she's not worth it.

I actually think both the methods Neuro and Nikk suggested would work quite well. You could go with either one of those.

I agree. It all depends on you, and what you like to do. Do you want to become friends with her first? Or do you just want her to know how you feel straight away? S'up to you, bro.

Good luck!

She is GORGEOUS!!! (I'm also stealing her pants, btw. So if she says anything to you about them going missing, just laugh and say 'hahaha i know it wasn't javey!'. She'll never suspect a THING! XD)

I have had a similar experience. I am with bernii on this one. Just be her friend. Its what i did. We haven't gotten together, but she has however gone from a huge homophobe to a rebellious believer in the fact that everyone is different, and thats perfectly acceptable. Sometimes she says things that make me wonder about how she feels about me, so yeah, some kind of magic will happen ;)

Saying hello and making an effort to be her friend wont make you come off as weird. It'll make you come off as nice and friendly, which is exactly the right direction if you ask me.

Misaki,

I know how you feel. My girlfriend is straight also. She met me as a female but got to know me and realized that she didn't care.

In other words, just try being her friend first. See what happens from there. I don't know about you but when some straight girls start flirting with me I don't even know it. She might start doing that with you.

Hmm. Must have been that pesky 'International' word which made me assume that it was well known! I only became aware of it myself last year.   Brief history: May 17th is the day IDAHOBIT is acknowledged as it is the anniversary of when in 1990 the World Health Organization declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. It was conceived in 2004 and first celebrated in 2005. It has gone on to include trans folk in 2009 and bi folk in 2015.   International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia - Wikipedia

A year and a half post op. I've noticed that once the urge to pee hits, I can only hold it for about 15 minutes or so until it gets to the point where I feel like I'm going to piss myself. I used to be able to hold it a lot longer (as I  remember it).  I know my urethra is a bit shorter now, but I don't think it is enough to account for this. Am I imagining it?

What a great moment @Vidanjali! It's always so cool knowing people are reading you in a way you want to be seen.

It's also networking.  Sometimes jobs come along because someone knows someone else - these older people might know someone.  "Hey, Ashley," someone might say,"My nephew is looking for love. He likes tall women. Whatcha think? Can he call you?"   Don't discount their ability to match make.  It is about networking.

He is simply doing to get more votes. He held a Trump for trans during his first run and found out the majority of his voters were against us so he simply followed the crowd.

The sad part is I'm the third oldest member. One is in their 60's and the other is past 70's. I'm even older than the president lol. It's a younger crowd that's for sure. I like to come here to feel young again lol.

Ashley, I think searching for relationships are a lot like searching for jobs, they tend to come along when you aren't actually looking.  Perhaps you could step back from actively searching, at least for a little while, and instead, concentrate on just being out and about as yourself.  Like Mae and Abby have already mentioned, just keep up your volunteering, but don't focus on a need to find someone.  Maybe, just maybe, changing your tactics will result in someone finding you.    I do wish only the best for you, and I hope someone comes along who connects with you.

First off, you can't regret being honest. You may not be changing the relationship, but it sounds like it still exists!   As for meeting people, what about through the volunteering you're doing? Maybe you can do more of that and meet people. Let some relationships grow and if they blossom into something more than friendship, great! If not, you've got more friends!

Hi Giz, welcome. There's so many different ways to be trans and you're so welcome here. I wish you luck in achieving your goal of being more androgynous. There's forums in here that might suit you and your goals. I look forward to hearing more from you. I go by he/they pronouns at the mo.

Hello @JenniferB!  Was kind of in the same boat with this.  I spent massive amounts of energy over several decades to try to control my drinking and drug use.  Because I'm highly disciplined, I was ultimately successful.  I felt I could have gone on with controlled drinking for the rest of my life without problems, but it got to the point where I realized that it wasn't worth all the energy I was putting into it.  At that point I found surrender.  I got a sponsor, attended almost daily meetings for a year, worked the steps to the best of my ability, tried my best to socialize with people even though I am an introvert, I made a mess for myself at the meetings and felt a little rejected.  And then I continued on doing a little service work.   After a few months away from it, I'm in a good spot.  I accidentally ate one of my roommates edibles a couple months ago.  I have only smoked a half ounce of weed in the last 20 years.  After it kicked in, I realized that it was a marijuana high.  Then I noticed something miraculous.  I just told myself that there is nothing I can do about it and then got on with the business of the evening like I normally would.  It was like the high just ended right then and there.   Controlled drinking like I was doing was just very risky behavior and not worth the effort for me.  In any case, I'm very happy that I spent my life fighting it all instead of just giving into it.  I think that whatever you put into something, you eventually get back out.   Meetings are cool.  People generally get equal time to share.  Seeing people who are struggling reminds me of the way I was and why I want to remain sober.  And by being there, I have the potential of helping someone else.  The stuff I don't identify with I just do my best to not let bother me.  And if it gets bad there, I don't have to go back.  I can find another meeting or even just read the literature.  The literature helped me a lot.

Happiness to me is when I reached a turning point in my life, that I stop worrying what others think about me, and start living my life.
