Size Limit On Uploaded Pictures To My Gallery

I have been trying to upload some pictures of our fires out here and am getting an Up Load Fail -200 message.  The files have been 5 M + in size.  I am guessing the -200 means they need to be smaller, but it doesn't say so in so many words.   I have reset the camera's to a smaller picture size for future work on stuff I might want to share here.  HELP.

Have you tried running them through an image optimizer/compressor? I had to do that with the pics of my surgical site I sent off to my surgeon. There are a couple available for free online. I think I used Compress JPEG.

I've taken a look at the forum image settings and everyone's settings seem to be set as unlimited.

 

I'll keep looking as time permits as there are a LOT of settings that can be set or changed and I mean a shed load of settings. So far, all I can find is that everyone is set to unlimited, no size or number restrictions as far as I can see.

@Petra Jane  I was getting this in both Gallery and in Posts.  I will do some experimentation and see where things cut off.  For now, I have both of my good camera's re-set for smaller picture size.

I answered my own question on the pictures.  For some reason the system does not like BIG pictures over 4608 x 3456, the MB's are not the problem since a 7.5MB file in that size loaded beautifully.  I was uploading files 6000 x 4000 in size and only 5.5MB's .   -200 Error means the picture is too big for us.  I experimented with 6 pictures of slightly different sizes and this is what came out.
