Perm and hair coloring for my M2F Daughter

MomTGDaughter

Recommended Posts

My m2f 12 year old daughter has very nice long hair almost to the middle of her back, my hairstylist (now hers too) is suggesting a perm and hair coloring. She is eventually going to go on hormone blockers and eventually estrogen. My concern is making sure she maintains great hair she can grow very long. Will any of there hurt or damage her hair over the long run? Any suggestions on anything what will help her maintain great hair, especially since she was born male and don't maintain hair volume like woman do,  I like the idea of what my hairstylist is suggesting, but I want to make sure it will be fine for the long run.

I'm no chemist, hon, but I've never heard of blockers causing issues with hair.  Nor have I heard of anyone on estrogen suffering damage to or problems with their hair.  I suggest talking to her doctor about it.  A good endocrinologist should have some experience with that.

If your beautician is experienced with children's hair, she is a person to trust.  There are some newer non-ammonia products that will help keep hair from being damaged.  Here in CA to get your Cosmetology License you have to show you know about that stuff.  There are some newer "kid products" as far as color goes, the wild colors that are actually helpful to the hair.  As far as her hair length and texture, it is the same as other girls her age in your family since the male pattern of hair does not kick in until puberty is well along.  On Blockers, her hair is going to stay what it is until actual HRT begins, and then it will be pretty much what happened to YOU during your puberty in terms of what your hormones did to your hair.  Hair, even in children has a three stage (some say four) life cycle. New hair,  Mature hair, and dormant hair follicles, and it is the new hair follicles that begin growing after HRT is begun that will determine her adult hair growth.

I was 61 when I began my HRT and when my hormone treated (from inside) new hairs grew out, it was finer than my old male hair had been, but that some of what may have been dead, came back, so while my hair is fine mine hits just below my shoulder blades, but I am 5'10 so on a shorter person it would be longer appearing.

so, a close friend wants to cook for me   the issue is, she is a vegitarian and won't handle meat- I, on the other hand, won't handle vegetables- hate the things   every time she goes out to the shop, she comes back with something.. a cake, a fruit smoothie, a coffee, I won't eat any of it. please help me think of something that she could make for me that I'll actually eat   disclaimer: you are talking to the most pickiest eater in the world. good luck

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.

      Who, precisely, are "they"?

Wife of mine pointed out that not getting a haircut for a month looks hideous - weird bald patches.  So back to super- short buzz cut.  This morning I braced, looking in the mirror.  I look like a woman trying to pass as a a guy, maybe  a small-breasted woman with enough T treatment to grow a mustache.    I would not believe me if I read what I write about me.  This is nuts.   White t-shirt: that they sell in the back of WM so you can tie-dye them or otherwise decorate them. They are thick and long lasting and slightly fitted, so that they could be a man's.  I like them.   Jeans, flip flops.   I will no longer point out these are women's.  What else would I wear?

That is all that is necessary. I did the same thing. I must have gotten something wrong.

Quite right mate! I have been letting my hair grow out again (I cut it all off when I was 18).    I'll never look this good:    But I'll aspire to look my best! ☺️

They want the freedom to take ours away.

Yeah, if Trump wins, they'll just flip it again.

Nope.  He is merely a tool for them to get a foot in the door.  Any other "conservative" president would be fine - on the off chance he doesn't actually run. Trump's "policies" change with his whims.  Look how he's trying to back peddle on abortion.  The only thing he stands for is himself.
