I have stayed away from this topic but took a peek and it was so politically oriented it nauseated me. Yes I know I opened my mouth early in the conversation but it devolved just reading the most recent reply. I know it is ok to be political if it stays civil but what I read was NOT civil.

If you can't I guess I will just avoid any of those topics that appear political. Thank you.

This is not our usual offering, and yes, staying out of it is a good idea.  I myself made a single comment and it was taken for something way aways from what I actually said.  It has been lengthy, but so far has not  broken any of our Community Rules which would have resulted in action by Forum Management.  Thank you for your good sense and also for expressing your concerns.  In the past we have taken flack from outside over alleged censorship and without a rule violation taking actions to stop the things there would be considered censoring.  It is in the Politics Forum so the lid is off.

I'm with you Heather Shay.  I found the Gaslighting going on there (by just a couple of the participants) sucked all the air out of that thread.  I don't visit it anymore.
I agree with @VickySGV that if there IS going to be a Politics forum then pretty much anything goes.  But, I think it needs to be more respectful of each others opinions and there were several posts that did not demonstrate that restraint.  I really don't like to be Man-splained to.

That's all I am going to say about it. It is my choice to be a non-participant.

That's the best advice that could be given.  If any topic is triggering to anyone, then just stay away from it.

It seems like the whole world is thrashing about right now. To me if feels so sad. The more everyone thrashes about the less real progress is made. Roll on summer
