Having a Real Challenge Determining Implant Size.

Recommended Posts

Was in Chicago getting my second facial cleaning and had the doctor seriously scold me for not getting on point about determining my implant size. Time is getting close, the surgery is scheduled for January 23, 2021, only two months away.

I qm 5' 7" and currently 165 pounds; very slowly losing muscular weight to get that chest size down to something I feel would be appropriate for my overall body.

Band size measured 40, so I ordered from two different manufacturers: 40 B, C, and D. Playtex is too tight. The Amazon brand (I quickly tried it on today), is good, so I need to use the rice method to get a volume for cup size.

My doc is really pushing me towards 600cc and even mentioned "700cc is not out of the question". I told him I did NOT want to look like a porn queen, or worse yet, a clown. He assured me that for my body size and build 600's would be perfect. I feel he is pushing me towards smooth saline. I want the Mentor Siltex Moderate Plus for the squishiness and diameter versus height.

Went on to RealSelf to look at photos. I saw one MTF woman 5' 11" with 600cc Mentor Mod Plus's who had a 40 band size. She ended up with an F-cup, way too huge. A cis-gal I work with looked at the photos and was practically pounding on my shoulder telling me to get them! :) It was kinda funny.

I have looked at many MTF breast augmentations on RealSelf regarding implant sizing, and I just cannot get a grip on what size I need. I really don't want to wake up to find a couple of Mt. Everest's on my chest; I want boobs that look real. :(

Any suggestions will be very appreciated.

I am mildly second guessing myself as to what is a good size breast augmentation to get too. It’s a relatively permanent result as I am going to accept what cup size I end up getting. I wanted my wife with me at the consultation back on July 2 but they wouldn’t allow anyone besides me (the patient) for just the consult due to covid in that county at the time. My wife has great taste and I trust her judgement completely. Sadly, I ended up having to make the choice myself. I trust my own judgement but I feel I have a slight bias toward larger than smaller.?

My details are different than yours but our proportions may be close relatively.

My band is 37.5” and my bust is 42.5” (5” difference)

My height is 5’ 10” and I’m 177lbs. to give you my proportions/dimensions

Despite websites that are supposed to calculate my proper bra cup size...they are all off by a landslide. I am NOT a DD cup as the 5” difference would suggest. Most B cups fit me very well except Bali brand bras...go figure. But that gives you an idea as to my bust volume.

When I went in for my consult they started me at a pair of 350cc silicone forms and went up by 50cc each time. 450cc looked perfect until I put on the 500cc. I was sold. They had me try the next size up (550cc) and it was a little too big for me. I asked Dr. Stiller what size cup I would be after the surgery and swelling had gone down using my chosen size in the silicone gel form. He said around a D cup. Originally, I thought I wanted a C cup but the D cup actually worked best for my size and stature.

On a related note, I have a trans girlfriend who had a BA done about 6 months ago. She was only a small B cup prior to BA surgery. She is 6’ and 240lbs. Dr Stiller inserted a pair of 600cc silicone gel forms in her and now six months later she looks like maybe a C cup. It doesn’t show very dramatically given the 600cc form size she went with. So stature is really important in the overall presentation. If you have a really small frame and are small boned then 600cc is going to be a pretty large cup especially if you have some breast tissue beforehand.

Good Luck,

Susan R?

Thank you for your story. Before I was married, I weighed 135 pounds and had a 36" chest (across the widest part), for most of my life, got married at 33 and did the man-thing and began lifting weights. Topped out at 215 hating myself the whole way. So have spent two years dropping the muscle. It is a slow process to be sure, I have spent many hours on my treadmill and mountain bike.

I can put the surgery off, and actually may, for a few more months. I don't want to, but I really need to get the last 10-15 pounds out of my chest. Ugh!

I am 44 band and my plastic surgeon is going with 800 cc gummy bear implants due to my shoulder width and band size measurement. I know i really need to loose weight, and have always had a really difficult time with it. I am going to try Noom. I have hear people have had real success with it. If I can get to 220 at 6'8" I will be really happy. I know that it will take a few months but it will be worth it if it works as advertised. As the gyms are closed in Washington State again.

Gina, you can drop the weight! Check Athleanx.com for bodyweight exercising. I subscribe and it has helped me tremendously. If only I were 6'8" in the 6th grade, it would have made my life sssssoooooo easy! Lucky girl! :)

Have you tried buying various cup sizes, filling them up with tissue and walking around?  Just spending the whole day with a size.  I think you would hone in on what isn’t pleasing to you & what is.  Put on different types of clothes; swim wear, low cut dresses if that’s your thing, and say to yourself I like this, I don’t.

After you decide, take pics & show it to the Dr.  Don’t back down, it’s what you want and no size is right or wrong!

Also don’t let a Dr pressure you as to what is correct size!  I had a cis EX who wanted a breast reduction to a B cup & the Dr gave her a D cup.  She has never been happy with the D’s.

Also if you end up with larger chests you will attract more attention. Good & bad.  Do you want stares if your really stacked?  That’s a personal decision only you can answer.  Some women love it, others don’t.  And very large chests are heavy weight wise.  But there again if you want the biggest implant or smallest it’s what appeals to you!

Look at women your size.  What looks aesthetically pleasing to you, what doesn’t? As an FTM preparing for Top surgery, I’ve looked at so many chests & I so hope I can communicate how I want my pecs to look.  At first it was, I want the surgery. But now I’m honing in on the look I want.

Germany has more castles than there are McDonald's in the United States. Yep, you heard that right. Germany is estimated to have 25,000 castles, and there are around 13,000 McDonald's locations in America.   In Washington state, there's a real-life law stating it's illegal to kill bigfoot and other sasquatch-like creatures.

DREAD f you’re anticipating something positive, you’re probably motivated to summon all your patience to wait for it—and sometimes for extended time periods. It may be counter-intuitive, yet in certain instances such waiting can itself be gratifying. Consider Carly Simon’s song “Anticipation,” the old Heinz ketchup ads, and—especially—recent research pointing in the opposite direction as regards awaiting something highly aversive. In this post I won’t be reviewing ketchup commercials, but I will be exploring some intriguing research on dread-infused anticipation.

So an update from me.   Had my endo appointment last night. Went very well and they are sending 3 months supply of estrogen (estradoil patches) and the anti-androgens whilst my Dr gets a shared care agreement sorted out. So happy, should start HRT tomorrow!! Cost for the 3 month supply is £70 total for me, so not too bad. Not told my parents about this yet, but them being in spain, not sure they need to know yet.   Can't wait to start, just got to think about where to put the patches now and wait for the changes...

Good Morning    well it’s Friday for most, pay day for some.  For me it’s pay day but not Friday.  I work the same opening shift tomorrow.  I typically have Friday on Saturday and Monday on Tuesday.     @KymmieL it does sound like your shop has an issue and you are smack in the thick of it.  The new gal or guy often is.  We have an issue with new people not getting fully trained before being turned loose on customers.  Some struggle through it and some quit because of it.  I try to get them working with customers as quickly as I can but I stay right with them observing, helping, even jumping in when things are getting backed up to keep the stress down.  Not everything comes up during training so when things do, even later after trying is done, I try to help and explain.  Our ASM feels that once she has you scanning barcodes and taking money she is done training.  Generally, refuses to train me on things that she does, and questions why I’m doing something that she normally handles when I’ve been told to do it as part of my advancement training.     She and the cashier involved both keep trying to toss the manager under the bus over a hours of work issue and shifts.  I tell her I realize her issues and I’ll work what ever she needs.  Because of that I tend to get a better more consistent schedule.   Well, time to say Happy Trails to you, until we meet again.   Hi ho Silver, away   Willow

That does get you the 'starting point' for cup size, but manufacturers, style, breast shape, etc... will effect the results.    Step one is of course finding the proper band fit, then figuring out the approximate cup size with the calculations. Of course you need to try on a few styles after that in different cup sizes close to your measured result until you get the perfect fit.    I have bras in a DD that fit just like my bras in DDD both from Torrid but different styles.    I have some DDD's that fit awesome and some that are a bit loose, but I measure a 46G. It's not wonder that 80% of women are wearing them wrong bra.

I firmly believe I drank entirely to much for about 25 years. Got drunk every day. This was my coping mechanism to keep hiding deep inside that I was a woman. I miss a lot of signs over the years. Now I drink mabye 1 or 2 beers a day don't even get a buzz anymore. totally accept myself and on regret is that I hide that part of my self which  truly makes me happy being violet 💜. I wasted a lot of time before  being self destructive and had no clue I was just hiding th real me
