I turned my speakers on (Macbook) and don't hear anything.  Despite that they are fun to smash!

I find I only get the sound on some pages so maybe it is random.

Possibly.  I rechecked my sound settings.  I haven't tried on my mac desk unit.

Christmas has always been one of the most special things in the world to me. It's even reflected in my names, and in my reverence for the saint who inspired "Santa", heck, even my love for conifers, and I'm a December birthday to boot!

So add another voice here to the "this is wonderful!" train!!

ūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄūüéĄ

Happy holidays, everyone!

(And I don't want to hear any gloomy gus-ing about "Well, I would participate, but I can't because..." Poppycock! I'm non-religious and I Christmas! Ninety-percent of Japan isn't Christian, and they Christmas in their way! Pegans were Christmasing even before it was "Christmas"! So, yay, holiday cheer!!!!!)

Make the most of the Christmas Lights and backgrounds folks, they will, so long as I remember, disappear on Jan 5th 2021, twelfth night.

The Christmas lights have been wonderful (and noisy)....

I love the lights also. When I have a rotten day I've been coming here and just break the bulbs. It's like popping bubble wrap. Yeah, I can't smash anything else so I come here and smash the bulbs. It's my therapy.. lol.

If you can't leave the bulbs up, is there some other thing you can put up that we can smash. lol

I'm with @Cyndee& @HollyNoel the light smashing has been therapeutic. I will miss the lights, and waiting for the 2021 Holiday Season. Like HollyNoel mentioned having a nondescript object to punch or break as a stress reliever/entertainment. In 2021 my COVID mask will transition to a Veil, with more color and bling.

Thank you Petra for putting a Winter Holiday Spin on the background and lights.

Just found out that some browsers, such as Firefox disable sound by deafult.

@Petra JaneI run FireFox on my laptop and the sound works on every page accept when I open the Activity page. All in all, I've really enjoyed the distraction.

Sorry, lights have had to go a couple of days early, seems to be slowing the server down and causing posts to be clicked twice and appearing twice at peak periods. Ah well, I store them away safely for next Christmas. (Started to say next year!)

I hope I can, I’ve been on some kind of stomach meds for darn near 20 years.    I suggested 2 that I found on Amazon to her, Transgender 101 by Nicholas Teich and Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Trans by Brynn Tannehill.

Dear Willow, Mindy, and all... thank you for your compassion and inclusion.¬†I am a Gen X'er myself. I constantly strive to understand the experiences of those both older and younger than me. My job challenges me to do this on a daily basis. I consider cross-generational¬†understanding essential to my coming out and journey forward, because people like my parents and coworkers are will see me and the concept of being transgender and transitioning¬†through a different generational lens. ¬† So I needed to understand why what was shared today¬†affected me so much. Had a good long cry if I'm being truthful...¬† I know this hiding place all too well. I lived in it for most of my life, really forever, until only recently. The idea that what I was feeling could be minimized into a disorder, a paraphilia, or a perversion even, meant that no one could ever know. Punishment did come, quite literally, when I came out of hiding and got caught.¬†Survival meant repressing and denying this to anyone, including myself. This brings¬†an intense¬†pain I believe we all can relate to. As a result, the worst punishment was always in my head. The endless negative self-talk drove me to the darkest depths of depression and to the brink of suicide.¬†Which brings me to... ¬† I share your deep concern about your wife. This must undoubtedly be¬†weighing heavily on both of your hearts and minds and causing so much¬†anguish.¬†That said, I think it's wonderful that you're so¬†attuned to your wife's needs and adapt yourself to meet them when her need is greatest. I imagine she feels this from you.¬†In a sense I think she is attuned to your own needs¬†too, it's just that her way of expressing that¬†via¬†altruistic suicidal ideation and self-sacrifice¬†is deeply troubling. I'm hopeful that you and she can have open conversations about those feelings, whether with a therapist as you hope, or with other supportive people in your lives, or just the two of you together. I can sense the strength of your love and marriage from your writing! ¬† The other thing that this conversation brought up for me today was my deep-rooted¬†fear that my partner could decide to end our¬†relationship at any point. Whatever the expressed reason, I would assume it was because I'm transgender. I'm working hard to overcome¬†this insecurity but it does overwhelm my emotions at times (like today). ¬† These are pretty heavy thoughts and feelings for the coffee thread. Can I offer everyone a (masked) supportive¬†group hug?¬†ūü§ó ¬† Love, ~Audrey. ¬†

Hey Jamie, I'm sorry to hear it's becoming a thing trying to find a place. Have you considered straight out asking your insurance provider? Maybe they can point you in the right direction.
    • Jocelyn
Thank you Mindy, I agree that we need to stick together and support each other. We need to openly share our hardships so that maybe someone else will not feel so alone. thank you for your support. Unfortunately I have not come out to my fire fighting family and have had little contact due to COVID-19 happening shortly after I retired. working towards living life in the open. stay safe everyone hugs Jocelyn

Thanks so much for the supportive comments. It's great to know that I'm not alone! I would love to find women's clothes that come across as more masculine. Any tips?
    • MisterJax
Sweet! I didn't know there were so many of us.

Ok, Thanks Liz. I called my insur. co. today and they aren't in network either. I called planned parenthood of Indiana and they don't do HRT. Hopefully there is someone close by that does it all that is in network. I think Howard Brown might be the only full service place close by. I guess I have my work cut out for me. In the meantime, my wife said I should get my ears pierced. I said, hell yeah! Going to get some diamond and yellow gold studs.

@Confused1¬†@TTheta¬†@Emily michelle¬†@Audrey¬†@Abi¬†@Charlize¬†@gina-nicole-t ¬† I appreciate the warm welcome Home! It is so nice to start back on my regular routine a little bit at a time. I did my daily walk for the first time in almost 3 weeks. It wasn‚Äôt my regular 3 mile route but I did manage¬†to do a very slow 1 mile walk around our neighborhood. It was nice to say hi to a few of my regular passerby's on the route. It felt like I walked 3 miles though..lol ¬† Many Thanks All, Susan RūüĆ∑¬†

@Jandi When you have parents like that running your life it gives you a complex as to how the rest of the world really is. All they wanted me to believe was just how the Church believed the world worked, not how the world really is. As we all know those are two distinct different things. You can believe in God, and live in the world without being a horrible person. Problem was they were horrible people living in the Church (not the first time we have heard of such things). After their deaths I was fortunate to travel the world and learn everything they chose to keep from me, and it was eye opening to say the least. I learn about the world, and more about myself in the process. Yes the abuse I endured was horrible, the lack of friendship, and being able to date didn't make high school pleasant. However, now that I am in the process of my gender transition I have a community that I could never have hoped for in my wildest dreams that supports me and everyone else. I have friends now from all over the world. It's more than I ever could've hoped for when I was young.  Hugs,  Gina

Well it's a no go on the analyst position.  I didn't have the qualifications they where looking for. I am thinking more BLM than LGBTQ.  Even though that is what they advertised for.    Not sure that my wife wouldn't throw it away. Jackie. She has done it before. There is a position with V.S. that I may apply for.  And there is a service dispatcher for a  Cat dealer also.    Kymmie

I can be pretty flamboyant and spontaneous. I'm pretty sure my spouse is WELL beyond being embarrassed by anything I do. Well, anything I'm likely to do that won't get me arrested.     Huzzah! I'm glad your doctors have their issues worked out. Probably a good idea to keep it quiet from your spouse though. I can TOTALLY see her tossing your E out of spite.   Hugs!
