Covid Stimulus checks

I really wish the government would give up the promised covid stimulus checks, I have bills that are well over due plus I was planning on buying some needed cloths and shoes. I don't care who is put in charge, they just need to do the right thing and they need to help the people in the US that really need help. We are dying out here. Release the vaccine and the stimulus payments.

It does not look like it will happen for a while, the sides have locked the doors on the whole shebang.

I know, I thought once the democrats got in charge they would have pushed it through. Seems the democrats are just like the republicans. Neither side is worth much.

Right now the Democrats have some road blocks from the opposing party that they cannot get over.  With the other silliness disposed of today, I suspect there will be continuing balkiness that will keep the sides at a stalemate.

Remember the Senate is still controlled by the GOP.  There needs to be bi-Partisan support.

At this point in time the Democratic Party only controls the House.  I can hope that they might win the Senate in the GA election but that  doesn't make a check available now.

 It is indeed frustrating!

Not being a Dem or Rep I am not sure either party really cares about us the people.

They seem to be pretty much the same these days.

If either party really cared about the people they would have done something and not tried to shove their pork into the stimulus bill.

Both parties are guilty of not helping the people.

Yes, exactly. When will I get my stimulus check?

The answer is NEVER Nancy Pelosi has absolutely no intention of giving individual Americans anything because the overwhelming majority voted Republican and, to prove it, us "conservatives" in Georgia are going to BOYCOTT the Jan 5th runoffs by NOT VOTING AT ALL so whatever does, or does not, happen next will be squarely on THEM . .

Mark these words she will try to GET EVEN with ALL of us wait and see!

The Dem candidate got 7 million more votes. How is that an overwhelming Republican majority?

And, sorry, it's not accurate to say Pelosi is blocking stimulus checks...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, however, had proposed his own targeted pandemic relief suggesting they scrap liability protections and state and local aid – the two biggest priorities that have stalled negotiations – while also excluding another round of direct payments.

Let's not get into an argument here about who is to blame. Both parties are equally to blame. Neither side is willing to give an inch in resolving this matter while the people who need this stimulus money are the ones who are suffering. While congress fiddles, it's the common people who are suffering. Never trust any politician who says they are going to help.

Really? I didn't follow it too much. Also, I guess I'm not alone on here as a GNC person who identifies with the right. I voted Republican in 2016 and 20.

Mitch McConnell is just as bad a Nancy Pelosi  they both have millions of dollars  and all they are worried about is themselves.

I have spoken to Mitch and he is not very impressive and

only in office for the money.

Any politician thats been in office as long as Mitch and Nancy  its because its a pay check and a way to legally launder money.

We aren't getting enough from either party. Most other industrialized nations have given their people up to $2000 per month and are healthier and economically stronger than we are.

It's not just buying clothes or food or paying the electric bill.  Help is needed so we don't get thrown out of out homes because we get covid and can't pay the rent. It's because, despite the touted Obamacare, we can't afford to buy health insurance while still paying for rent, food, and transportation to work. If we get covid, many of us people will be financially ruined, and quite possibly out of a home.

Its obvious politicians don't care and its time some realized that.

I have Democrat friends that think once JB is in office  and the dems take control in the house and/ or the senate  everything will be fine and they will get a stimulus check and go back to work.

Nope y'all thats not going to happen and you are foolish to thint it will.

There's one side that came up with Social Security, Medicare, and Obamacare. And one side that fought hard to stop their enactment has tried to dismantle all those programs ever since. Yeah, both sides are exactly the same.

Democratic House passed a bill that would have sent out more checks in May. Blocked by Republicans in the Senate, led by McConnell. (Source with links).

The Democrats in the House passed a second version in October (Source) and again it was dead on arrival in the Republican Senate.

There's a slim chance that if Georgia somehow elects two Democrats to the Senate in January that we will see if the Democrats are actually not going to try to help but we need no further proof that the Republican Senate is done trying to help us through this.

All I know is that we need help now and aren't getting it. I don't care who is in charge, they just need to start doing whats right for all of us that are suffering because of this stupid virus. IMO, all of those politicians that are holding up the stimulus payments should have their salaries cut until they start doing their jobs. Maybe if they stopped getting paid, they will act right by us.

Tragically, most of our congresscritters are already multi-millionaires. Their salary from being in congress, despite looking tasty to us wage-slaves, is really pretty meaningless to them. We need a systematic reform and maybe another viable party that isn't as pro-capitalist as the two we're currently stuck with. Until then it's all corporate bailout and you and I get to live on the crumbs.

Hugs!

Maybe at the end of Jan 20th we'll be graced by our overlords.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) argued over the weekend that Americans will be better off if Congress does not pass a COVID-19 relief bill.

P.S. Con artists are bad for the economy, especially millionaire+ con artists, who have been through bankruptcy more than once and dodge taxes. Pay taxes and keep track of that money cuz once it's in an offshore account good luck finding it.

So all it takes for one side to get people to hate the other side is refuse to pass anything to help anyone. Counting on people to just throw up their hands and say 'both sides are awful' seems to work, as most don't seem to make the effort to even understand which party controls which parts of government.  Almost all Republican policies are universally unpopular, they're counting on your frustration to keep them a viable political party.

To be fair, both sides ARE awful. However one side is less awful so it's our duty as Americans to vote as progressively as we possibly can and maybe get the awful politicians primaried (I may have spelled that wrong). It's a lot of work to keep on top of it though. Most Americans don't.

I attend a medical day-centre in Texas for needed medical services. It's religious oriented, so not gender fluid friendly. I of course dress 100% in female attire yet androgynous to keep both "them happy", and I really don't mind.    I of course am imposed rules that no other participant is bound by. The examples are the allowed size of my backpack, or how many visits per day I can see my Representative payee.  The gender neutral restroom use was a compromise that all off us have agreed to.  Not being able to wear tanks tops or shorts that aren't "Bermuda length" are other examples of where I am restricted more than any other participant. "Bra talk" is strictly forbidden, even though their doctor and occupational therapist were the ones that told me I needed support due to neck pain.    I found myself being reprimanded by staff three times yesterday for very petty details, and they have constantly pushed for me to remove myself from the program voluntarily. I am of course someone not welcomed in the program, but federal discrimination laws prevent them from removing me. They instead are just making life miserable with the hopes that I will leave on my own.

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

No, they are the only provider of services I need an my area. 😑
    • RaineOnYourParade
My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.
    • RaineOnYourParade
This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.
