Covid Stimulus checks

Rhonda both parties do it so thats kind of a moot point.

Voting as progressively a possible can be a mistake too.

Progressive run cities aren't doing so well  S.F. for example as well ss Seattle and Portland all have massive problems and city government in shambles.

I think new faces in the house and congress and term limits would only help.

I think you're confusing liberals for being progressive. Those aren't the same thing. Though progressive ideas are popular, they aren't as capitalism happy as liberals who tend to run things, cuz money rules in capitalism not people. Progressive ideas are mainly for the betterment of the people, not so much their wallet size.

What would you call AOC she is a liberal and a progressive.

They are all capitalists in politics and that is either party.

Progressive ideas aren't always good for everybody just look at San Francisco.

AOC is a progressive...not a liberal.

The Democrat party, like Republican party, is a various mixture of polical beliefs that are forced joined together cuz our system of loving money, makes it difficult to get anything done without an army under a simple universal basic banner of beliefs, that sadly barely represent everybodies soul interests. Politics is fascinating and mind numbingly painful to enjoy, not to mention confusing as hell cuz people are complicated, and propaganda/misinformation/lies don't help the situation.

S.F, Portland and Seattle are run by Liberals, not progressives. Liberals like to run on progressive socialistic ideas for the votes, cuz people want and need politicians that support health care, education, internet, Social Security stuff, infrastructure, disaster relief, basic rights to even exsist in society without being murdered or persecuted...basic necessities to get by so people can do what they want and not worry about lack of care, like air. But Liberals don't invest in those ideas fully cuz it doesn't make them rich or powerful, they believe in capitalism and the free market, where money is power for themself to wield at will, for themselves and their legacies, everybody else will have to fight for their own in the shark tank. Progressives are servants of the people, they work, represent and fight for all people of the community so they can continue to stand together, live and thrive as a community supporting each other through good will and civic duty to that community. Progressives don't make money because it is almost automatically invested into the community, and charity programs. Reason why it's hard to support the army of progressives, cuz they also feed and care for the enemy, for they believe in civic duty, compassion, humanity...care for everyone. Liberals are like the poor man's blue collar Democrat. They believe in money but won't resort to out-right corporate take over because they are individuals free of the blue collar dem inc. money machine, that cares little for their human mortal desires. Liberals want progressive ideas but still want the money and power capitalism offers.

Liberals aren't Progressives but doesn't mean they won't steal each others play books in hopes that maybe something breaks through the pay wall capitalism sets.

I apologize for this but it's one of those subjects that literally is its own political science course and I honestly hate politics and it's not my interest. But reality cares little for my interests, for I'm barely a dust particle in a drop in the void of space.

Been watching politics since the early 60s.

I was a hippie and a very left wing radical and a member of the SDS back then google that if you need to but I left all that behind in the early 70s because I saw where it was leading. Studied PS thru college like many students.

Sad to say I am watching all of Linsky's ideals playing out right now.

The two parties have shifted so much they are nothing like they used to be. The right has gone left and the left has fallen off the cliff. My opinion of course and if you disagree thats fine I am not here to argue politics.

Rhonda California is an expensive place to live anywhere in the state. The cost of living is crazy and has been for decades.

I have family that lives in Carmel by the sea right on the ocean  and while really nice no way I would want to live there.

I have family that lives in Anaheim Ca in the dumpy area and its expensive there too.

Just because someplace is expensive to live there doesn't mean its a good place to live.

Not arguing what is politics...it's literally written, documented and defined regardless of opinions... but people generalizing you red team...you blue team crap, adding the constant miss labeling blame game stuff, drives me nuts. The ball was dropped and nobody wants to be the adult responsible for fixing it. Sadly, I'd had to be born same time as around you were to even have had a shot at fixing a fraction of the mess that exsists today, but wasn't there. Sadly, I'd like to leave the planet and humanity to do as it will, but that ain't happening till death do I part. You think you left politics, but it never left or stopped cuz it runs things with or without you, welcome to civilization. You take yourself out of the equation you are no longer a defining factor to hinder or aide and you fall to it's natural mercy. Now kids have no money, a never ending war, barely work that pays for anything, a crumbling infrastructure, lack of medical effective care, a heavy lack of updated education, and the planet is almost on fire... So I could care less who is to blame. Oh... there's so much blame, but it won't fix anything without everybody stopping the blame game, work together and starting to coming up with solutions....and no God ain't coming or going anywheres for anybody, and that being just there support, doesn't help. We have legs, hands, 5 senses and a brain and only enough air to satisfy basic function, and sadly a planet full of people who all have an opinion. I care about facts, and the fact is the adults need to step up or step aside and leave it to the children they literally led off a cliff, to climb back hopefully from this mess. My anxiety is through the roof, I can't just leave my house cuz of my pre-exsisting issues, and I have damn people sabotaging every aspect of life because baby tears my freedom. Pisses me off, but at least I have the internet, maybe come up with a dancing monkey routine for YouTube or sell myself on Kickstarter if energy finds me, enslave a kitten for memes. I can barely post, but there be no nets being made to save from what's coming. If people stop working together, society falls apart and civilization collaspes. History can only warn of the patterns to come, people are all that is that can fix and save the garden we were so casually gifted. And sadly my faith is fairly shot at this point, the only thing I have is the smallest fire inside that is mostly rage, dissatisfaction, and willpower/stubbornness to not give up on the things I'm begrudgingly stuck with, but it is all I have.

Progressives ideas could help solve many of the short comings, literally stolen by greedy people. Money is literally an IOU from the government, it isn't food, air, water or a peace of mind. Regulations are needed to keep the land, air, and water from being polluted and destroyed further. Green energy policies can help give jobs and clean the atmosphere. Coal and oil are too dangerous and destructive, not to mention nuclear power(I have no Idea what they were thinking). Could literally have had Tesla coils distrubing power, but Godforbid society as a whole benefit from technogical advances. Only rich people blessed by the invisible creepy entity, get benefits.  It's exhausting. I'm not even that old and I feel worse than a old ship wreck. It's madness. Education needs an update and religion needs to be separate from state, no Nazis/fascists/communist dictators. Everybody needs health care, education, internet, electricity, food, water, housing and facilities to house and care for the citizens. And is it really that hard to ask people to stop shooting each other...really?

@Mx.Drago I just heard the news. I'm so happy we are getting help and thankful that we will be getting the money, but I'm disappointed that it's only for half the amount of the last check. It's going to cover almost all my back bills which is a very good thing. Everyone gets some, no one gets it all. Thank you to whoever it was in the government that managed to get this through!

?I'm taking the money, but I'm still very disappointed and far more angry, at how absolutely incompetent and reckless our government officials have been durning this entire pandemic. To add insult to injury they were banking on herd immunity, more like culling the herd. So many people, and so many more aren't going to make it, and it won't be because of the virus. $600-$700 is barely a bandaide. This is going to be a long crazy sad winter. Hopefully the vaccines work and stops the deaths on the health works side.

*sigh* Surely all at least start off with "good intentions"? Went to a hometown rally with Georgia's David Perdue this Sat, got my pic taken with him, and all they could say was "mail vote early" "mail vote early" wasn't mail voting early the BIG PROBLEM to begin with?

Will wait until Jan 5th, there's never a line the small town I live in, Trump wanted us to get another $1,200 but looks like it's gonna be 600 which is better than NOTHING! There is zero unemployment here one can see "help wanted" signs everywhere!

I'm curious what sources you're reading. I'm always interested in reading more and adding to the list of sources I've been reading, don't like to leave pieces out. Trump wanted to win and instead of, "surely all at least start off with "good intentions,""maybe he should have just convinced the rest of the Republicans to just give the people what they needed to get past these hard times, but he didn't. Even though he's the sitting President. Maybe he would have won, but he didn't. So what were you expecting? It's not like there's anything stopping Trump from screaming to the high hills,"where are the $1200 checks!"

We're in the middle of a pandemic, and we the common folk are more likely going to barely start being graced with the option of a vaccine by June. Once my optimistism would gladly think late April if the big wigs get there heads set right, but I'm not as optimistic anymore. Presently, major breaches into our government secure networks was a Holiday present from the Russians, and the Chinese government isn't exactly friends status. I still hear the sirens left from the cold war, in my neighborhood they were repurposed to start off the Shabbat for the ultra-orthodox. I remember the jingle "duck and cover."  But I highly doubt that would help. All I can do now is read and hope for a golden shower and for a miracle that more survive then die after this madness passes. If it passes.

Once in awhile, I read from them. So from what this article sez, all that time spent bickering, was cuz Sen. Toomey (Republican)refused to agree until Sen. Schumer(Democrat) agreeded to rescind more than $429 billion in unused CARES Act funds,...ending it by Dec. 31 and stopping these facilities from being restarted and forbids them from being duplicated without congressional approval.Toomey's spokesperson said, quoted in the article, "This agreement will preserve Fed independence and prevent Democrats from hijacking these programs for political and social policy purposes."...They are literally preventing people from getting further aide lent out in the future after Biden is let in... And Dems caved cuz they wanted to get the $600 in Stim checks and $300/week unemployment, before the time ran out...:facepalm scream: And they are still not done yet.

I don't trust what most of the news media says anymore.

One network will report one thing and another something else.

The media  can't seem to just report the news without trying to slant it to their agenda then force it down the public's throat.

Each network is guilty of this and I am so tired of it.

I stopped watching cable TV back in 2008 and stopped watching local TV news reports on free TV.

And you shouldn't trust them, that's why it's important to read as many sources as possible to squeeze the facts out, also research even the people writing those articles you read online. Who are they, what's their angle, how consistent are they in presenting the facts of current events in there past work, do they do fluff pieces...etc. It's a lot, but even after reading through the sources and there's a lot, facts will come out. Especially now with lots of video documentation, makes it easier to track who physically sez what and when. If a person sez one thing and then does the exact opposite, you can then assume they aren't going to follow through on their words.

I do my research on every news outlet and look from both sides of the argument and form my own opinions.

But regardless of opinion, there are facts to be drawn from the research. The reason for the research is to draw to a conclusion of truth, through analysis into the research using the tedious resources that are given and yes they're can be skewed by opinion. Everybody has and can make an opinion, that doesn't make it facts and/or truth. But there are facts, truths and there are theories. Opinions are a judgement, not based on facts or existing truth, but preferences of a personal view point. A conclusion of truth is drawn from logical reasoning and/or the scientific method. My opinion is a belief that with providing a focus on social care through an increase in a focus on social policies may help improve society. My theory, is progressive policies could help fix the lack of social support in our society. So I then do my research to find if my theory and opinion can be true. To the question, do people need social policies to support them, like infrastructure, and grand majority is yes, true fact. Is there a lack of effective social policies , example healthcare, yes, true fact. Do social policies help the majority, examples; Social Security, emergency aide, yes, true fact. The progressive pollical ideology is a focus on implementing social policies to support a societies majority, yes true fact. So can progressive policies help fix the lack of social support, conclusion yes it can. Can it definitely help fix it. That fact and conclusion is yet to be determined due to the answer being in the unforeseen future. But you can still draw a conclusion, on the collection of true facts, to a probable truth. How probable depends on the answers provided by further research? This is an extremely simplified example, but if you need more facts, keep researching to find the conclusion of truth.

Opinions aren't facts or even conclusions, but can help led to a theory to lead to research and facts to a conclusion. It's important to seek truth through facts, and not opinion.

There was a present left in the bill that could only manage to give citizens $600 in stimulus checks and a short period extension of unemployment with $300/week.

In short it was a last minute added provision that changes the allowance of sharing copyrighted images online...bill was already passed so when Trump signs it, it will be law. Till the law can fix the damn provision...maybe well into next year.

They passed the stimulus package but we are only getting $600. It should have been $1200, and it sucks that it's not. I'm still grateful for the $600, it's better than nothing. What makes me angry is that while we are only getting $600, Pakistan and other countries get millions. Our government needs to take care of us first and then the rest of the world. I don't mean to sound like that jackass Trump, but he's right, America and Americans should come before everyone else. If that makes me a horrible person for thinking that, fine, I'm a horrible person.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.

While the Soviet Union did not end up being the source of all evil, I believe that history has shown that Joe McCarthy generally was right. There ARE all kinds of Marxists slithering around. And if that had been dealt with firmly 75 years ago (or more) the nation wouldn't be in the shape that it's in now.    And while I generally oppose the idea of intervening in foreign affairs, the world probably would have been better off if we had taken care of issues in Russia and defeated the Bolshevik Menace back in 1919. God bless the memory of Admiral Kolchak.   Getting back to project 2025, my belief is that Republican efforts are inappropriately focused on trans folks. A minority of a minority does not wreck a nation. But it is easier to focus on trans folks because they can look like they're doing something. They don't have to address the real problems, and really they don't want to address them because they would have to address themselves.  They would also need to admit that the 50 State version of the USA cannot be saved.

@Willow things went pretty well on Monday. I have been working on the project all week long. I've been hanging out with my husband a lot, since he said that nobody would mind because I'm working on company stuff. My work is going slowly, but it is going. Rather better than I had hoped.   I ended up waking up late this morning. After 18 months of only working on house chores, not really used to doing anything else. Actually a little bit tired
