Sex drive, function, and orchiectomy

Hello everyone.  I’m asking for input from individuals that have had an orchiectomy.   I’m especially interested in those that had theirs a couple of years ago or even further back.

 

Do you still maintain functionality and a sex drive?  Even if it’s different than it was before?  

 

I really want to get one so I can reduce or stop taking Spiro, for comfort, because of amorphous reasons I can’t put into words, but mostly so I will NEVER have to worry about T again.  

 

After being on HRT for a while, I have the perfect sex drive.  It’s completely absent under normal circumstances, but comes back like flipping a switch when I want it.  I’m really afraid of messing that up.

Honestly, it depends on you. No, seriously. Sometimes your body's adrenal glands produce enough T to give you an appropriate level for a female (mine do), sometimes they don't. Fortunately, it can still be fixed with T supplements from your endo.

 

Now I had a full vaginoplasty, so the mechanism is a little different and It's been a hair over a year since that happened. My T levels are actually (slightly) higher than they were on spiro. They're still not high. We're talking the difference between .1 and .15. I can get "turned on" pretty easily in the bedroom but it's a non-issue the rest of the time. Well, sorta. I have a pretty normal female sex drive in other words. Normal for a much younger woman, but still normal.

 

I'm around two-and-a-half years of spiro then the GCS for reference.

I had my orci a good time ago.  I was in my mid 60's and wasn't active sexually at the time but like you i was worried that i would miss out on the pleasure sexual activity could bring to both my partner and myself.  i have not had sex since the procedure and rather than being upset i have found peace and contentment.  I know i could still satisfy a partner while certainly enjoying myself but the "need" no longer exists.  

I am happy to have left Spiro behind!

I should have put this in the original post, not sure how I could forget.

 

Anyone that had BPH or other prostate issues prior to an Orchi, did it improve your symptoms in any way?

I've heard that it can, but I can't confirm or deny personally.
